2021's salt and pepper

one of my top favorite variety airing on youtube from 2020!!! universe hipsters is a project for knowing brothers' after school class. despite continuing "universe cowards", universe hipsters focused on the genre of hip-hop, and what happened when you have a pair of musicians who never ventured to that genre? of course, chaos.

from the beginning to the end, this show is chaos by itself. it is so hilarious and entertaining. lead by the two youngest members of knowing brothers: kim hee-chul and min kyung-hoon, these two have such great chemistry which doesn't get that often being highlighted on the main show... but this show will show you what happens if you give a show being lead by these two.

the most surprising thing about this show is.... the end product is ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD despite how chaotic the project went on as shown in the show. search: hanryang on youtube or your favorite streaming platform, everybody. watch this to understand how hard (yet super fun!) it is to create that masterpiece <3

hands down for surprisingly one of the best idol's variety shows. this is a show that is still fun if you are a fan of the group and really enjoyable even if you aren't. airing on youtube truly gives the show its' own freedom to explore itself to the fullest. the editing style is definitely the most surprising aspect since it somehow reminds me of new journey to the west's style with its' brutal cuts when it is unfunny (lmao), witty captions, endless inside jokes, and the level of detail that reminds me of the editing of knowing brothers - which truly doesn't sound "idol-variety"ish at all.

and seventeen... this group is really... amazing? their sense of variety is no joke (chaos is certified with a bunch of 13 kidults lmao) and they really able to make even the seemingly boring-looking theme become so fun! it is easily the gateway to slipping into the diamond life, really... or if you aren't interested to go that far, this is truly a high-quality variety show for sure (and easy to watch since each episode is just between 20-30 minutes each) with some episodes are heavily inspired by other variety shows (which deserved standing applause for its' references.)
