1. Daebak Real Estate
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Dec 29 2022 - Jan 3 2023
The crying scenes and the overall emotional scenes are an entire ten out of ten. The acting was phenomenal in those parts. And the writing was so touching, heartbreaking, and hopeful all at the same time. But where the score fell for me was how it occasionally dragged and the boring business side of house selling lol. But it was seriously so good AND we accidentally got some asexual representation going on lol. Anyways, I'm crying, that was heartbreaking (but in a hope filled way). I gotta give it a 9/10 for those amazing emotional scenes, woooo, they got me crying my eyes out.
I want to add that I normally only watch dramas for the romance, and even though it wasn't like other dramas, romance and falling in love is STILL in this drama. But it's not with skin contact or typical romantic scenes... it's how they learn each other and depend and think of one another in everything that they do. They love each other completely and respect one another just as much. There IS romance, it's just not a normative one and imo it was really wholesome and refreshing and I'm crying because it's so cute. -
2. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Jan 5 2023 - Jan 8 2023
Not a bad drama if you want something light after something darker (I'm currently watching AoS2 and this filled the deep aching the now lives permanently in my chest because of the damn series, oh my) but you definitely can't take it seriously. The ML was amazing and I want one for myself, but everything else was at best mediocre (at worse annoying and at times frustrating and nonsensical). There was a lack of complete satisfaction for every mini plot and I honestly ended up fast forwarding through a lot of the non-main romances. Some stuff felt irrelevant as well. But again, it was a super light and an easy drama to binge. And it was admittedly cute to watch FL grow up bit by bit (she looked so comfortable in her body and cute by the end).
All in all, the romance between the leads was worth the watch. Very cute, wholesome, and goal-worthy. -
3. Alchemy of Souls: Part 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Dec 2022, Jan 8 2023
What a difficult drama to converge my thoughts about. On one hand, the overall series (including part 1) was something quite fantastic. It made you love characters and made you become invested in such a fantastical world. Part 1 really set you up for something great--amazing even. Part 2 still had all those characters you fell in love with, and you were still set up to believe that amazing thing to happen would eventually happen. That all that potential that was driven into the audience from the very first episode of part 1, was about to be fulfilled in a satisfactory way after the initial angst and heart-wrenching wait was over.
Then it never came.
So, yes, part 1, in my opinion, is a 10/10. It was incredible, and while perhaps a little weak/lazy on the ending, perfectly acceptable in the thought that part 2 would wrap it all up for us in a nice and satisfactory bow. Which meant all that weight was quickly thrown onto part 2's "shoulders". Is it fair to rate part 2 so low because of that failed potential of part 1? I'm not sure. Had I gone in on part 2 without seeing part 1, I wonder if I would have felt differently and enjoyed it for what it was--a heavily romantic fantasy rather than the fantastical adventure of part 1. But alas, it is part of an overall series and it just didn't hit the same way as part 1. It never landed and because of that, deserves quite a low ranking imo.
But in the spirit of the whole series and the characters I grew to love despite all their later changes and flaws in part 2, I'm giving it an 8.5/10. My heart, however, remains with part 1.

4. He is Psychometric
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Jan 9-11 2023
This has made me sad. However, honestly I was playing sims 4 the whole time I was watching and definitely didn't get the full experience (lol). But since I was able to properly play sims without being distracted by the drama, I took off .5 because normally I get sucked in and this drama just didn't do it completely for me. Of course, that was a personal me thing with all the boring law and business talk (that stuff puts me to sleep). Objectively, the plot was really amazing and the acting was really well done. I'm just SAD (another .5 taken off for my personal unhappiness lmao). This drama was EMOTIONAL and I really enjoyed that it dived deep into those emotions. And although I am personally saddened by the outcome, it was satisfying and felt complete by the final episode. Also, huge shout out for it's unpredictability! I normally am *really* good at figuring out where a drama is heading and yet I couldn't catch on to so many of those plot twists. Really incredible stories and all the intertwining connections between them. Fantastic!

5. Moon River
Taiwanese Drama - 2015, 30 episodes
Start: ?
Finished: Jan 12 2023One line to sum it up: "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results..."
Not to insult anyone's drama taste but I am shook at what just happened... and not in a good way. I admit, it had me up until like ep 16, but it went *real* sour *real* quick after that. The characters were SO infuriatingly immature and showed no real development by the end--in fact, I'd have to say the leads DEvolved rather than Evolved. I loved the ML in the beginning, he had so much promise and seemed on the right path to self-awareness. And then Ep 17 (or wtver) happened and he became a clueless, selfish, dimwitted fool. And not to mention the FL became even *more* of a pushover with confidence issues. It was just *angering* after that and I seriously recommend everyone to stop watching at ep 16/17 (forget which one). That was just... not well written at all in my opinion. Very over-the-top and roll-your-eyes scenes, with absolutely no good point to them (I can excuse cliches, but I can't excuse poor plot development and last minute obstacles that come out of nowhere just to drive the plot). Ugh. I'm glad I didn't invest myself fully into it, it would have driven me so far up the wall if I weren't too busy rolling my eyes so much it hurt.
Despite the lousy ending on top of all that (and the no closure to *any* of the supporting cast), I still can't give it lower than a 6.5/10 because I truly did really enjoy that first half quite a bit. In fact, it gave me BoF vibes and I'm a bit obsessed with that stupidly infuriating plot. This just went so far off the map on that second half and made me uncharacteristically hate the leads, so I can't in my right conscience rate it just for that fun beginning.
However, I should have seen it coming. The supporting characters were all backstabbing trash-- I should have known the leads were secretly trash too. *sad* -
6. The Bride of Habaek
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Start: ?
Finished: Jan 13, 2023
Honestly, I did not feel it very deeply for like the first half which is a real shame because that second half was captivating as hell and completely stole my heart away. Logically, this drama is in the 7's category of my rating system, but in my heart its at least a dang 9. Everyone in the reviews pointed out most of it's flaws, so let me point out what I felt they got right.
(1) Anything that can make me sob that hard while sympathizing with almost every characters' backstories and psyche wiring, is a must watch for me.
(2) I'm not into sad stories, I'm into heart-wrenchingly heartwarming stories, and this definitely fit that bill.
(3) All the MLs eventually totally won over my heart irreparably even with all their many flaws and refusal to develop into something better lol.
(4) And the FLs (although a little too stereotypically done for me) were all their own characters which I appreciated seeing (no carbon copies of each other).
(5) The ending did leave a bit of a lackluster taste, but episode 16 still by far held the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful scenes, so I forgive it.
It's a good watch if you're looking for something easy and not so hard on the head. You can still enjoy the emotions and romance even though the overarching plots are somewhat lackluster in power and development. I really think some of those backstories are the real magical elements in this drama. BRB I'm just gonna go cry into my pillow again over them. I saw it coming but I still didn't prepare enough for the emotions they put into it (and that big crying scene was really well done imo). Oh BOY. -
7. Full House
Thai Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Jan 15 2023 - Jan 16
This one HURTS. I LOVED it from like episode 1 to 15--it was beautiful and funny and FL was an absolute hoot and she was Baby! ML was hot and he showed so SO much potential. BUT NO.
Y'all, let me sum this man's character assassination up for you:
Mike: "I'm super hot and super sad which makes up for the fact that I haven't even tried to do the bare minimum to win back your favor. But hey, seeing you cry really pains me, so clearly I'm deserving of this sudden unconditional love you have for me. Did I mention I'm self-centered and by just saying so out loud means that I'm exempted from any character development now or in the future? In fact, by admitting this pretty terrible character flaw, I'm excusing all my future wrongdoings now. So like you won't ever be able to even hold it against me. Essentially meaning it's your problem and not mine. So, yah, like, I guess I'm probably in love with you seeing as I'm so upset uwu. And hot--look at me flex my muscles and pout as a single tear glistens down my perfectly chiveled cheekbone."
Such an irresistable man /s.Y'all, I say this on my knees in tears, don't watch passed episode 15. Just don't. They turned ML into such an unforgivable coward!!! WHERE IS THE DEVELOPMENT I WAS PROMISED THO, HUH?? Where it at, Full House? WHERE IS THE DEVELOPMENT? We're just gonna make FL do all the work again, huh? She's way too good for this story.
Am mad. You done did me wrong, Full House. You done did everyone wrong.
God dammit they are lucky their chemistry is off the dang charts. Mike's characters always make me want to sock them in the face eventually, I should have seen it coming. It went from a high 8/10 on ep 14, to a low 7/10 (and that's being awfully kind imo). -
8. The Glory
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Jan 17-jan 18
This is so good and addicting. I want to see them all hurt by FL's hands! But also, how is it possible I am simultaneously rooting for the bad guys? And for the lovers to be together with the kid? I seriously hate to love them and love to hate them. So I guess that makes me obsessed with them. Since this is part one and severely left with many gaps to fill, I can't possibly know if this will be a good drama or not. However, only taking into consideration the acting, production, aesthetics, music, and background stories, it is DEFINITELY a drama worth sticking around to figure out if it will be a flop or not by part two. It's been so amusing and ML, while a very untold mysterious character thus far (imo), is just as compelling as the rest of the cast and I am really glad to see it (since his first impressions left something missing). Really excited to see where this story is taken and just how satisfyingly messy revenge can get. -
9. Kimi wa Petto
Japanese Drama - 2003, 10 episodes
Jan 18
Great chemistry between the leads. That japan drama quirkiness/weirdness was quite something too lol. Will say it had a lot of misogyny and sexism in it and i wasn't a fan of that. But Momo was so cute, my goodness. What a mischievous boy! -
10. Devil Beside You
Taiwanese Drama - 2005, 20 episodes
Jan 19- jan 20
It didn't age all too well in certain areas. However, if you can get passed some of those initial controversies that are common tropes from that era, I think it makes up for it in later episodes. It wasn't frustrating, like at all. All misunderstandings, drama, and issues are solved pretty early on every time something pops up. And the relationships between all the characters are wonderful to watch (minus a certain middle-aged dude). There are many cute scenes between the leads (and other couples/friends) and I don't think anything was left unsolved by the end. I especially loved how the drama tackled all of ML's trauma, and how very therapeutic it all ended up being for him. ML definitely got the better side of things, and everyone did everything to make him comfy--but honestly, at times he did sorta deserve it and I wasn't really mad. That's not to say that I don't think some things were wrapped up TOO easily, but hey, it's a drama and why not live in a fantasy world where everything works out like magic for a bit?
Overall I give it an 8ish/10. Don't go in expecting a FL that breaks the glass ceiling. She is there to be the support ML needed to heal (because, you know, men obviously can't go to therapy and get a real therapist *roll eyes*), but she isn't as horribly written as some dramas. She's very cute and knows exactly who she is and what she stands for; I don't think anyone could have the heart to hate her.
The ending for me soured the overall story. I just wasn't pleased with how easily everything seemed to be overlooked and the storyline itself seemed very unnecessary, if not just a last minute plot device that made a certain successor thing work itself out too easily. But in doing so, I think it hurt an overarching theme important to the leads. Not a fan of that. Still, it was cute and light and easy to watch. Turn your brain off for a bit and enjoy :) -
11. Destruction
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
Jan 20-jan 22
It was a ride, that's for sure. Not a structurally sound ride, but a ride nonetheless. It was bumpy, sometimes the belt securing the passenger to the seat felt as if it were about to break, and the track seemed to be missing in certain areas. The themes holding it all together seemed to be confused and change completely at random and without warning. All in all, it was a miracle it held up to the end.
The romance carried the show, the chemistry between the leads and how cute the characters all were, really were the saving grace (if there was a saving grace). But just like ML's hair, there seemed to be consistency flaws in the plot (from his hair changing to black to grey to green to blue depending on the factors surrounding him). Rules were made and broken and changed at random and you could never pinpoint the world building behind the scenes. Even after it is all done, I'm sitting here wondering what the point to it all was--the laws that seemed to be based on nothing more than a whim. If they were trying to go for vague godlike beings doing vague godlike things that make no sense to humans, then, hey, they did just that. But was it fun and entertaining and worth watching? Meh. As I said, the romance was what carried it all and for me, as a die-hard romance lover, I'm okay with it all and have made my peace. Then again, they really threw in all the romance they could possibly think of, I mean what with the completely unrelated love story thrown in there lol.
Best advice I can give? Go in like you are the Kevin character. Use your own interpretation of whatever the heck is going on in the plot and just be happy you recognize love, family, and being together. Don't try to understand everything because all that's important is the love. Lol.
Plot: 3.5/10
Romance: 9.5/10
My Compromise: 8/10 -
12. Honey
Japanese Movie - 2018
Jan 22
that was so cringy I couldn't even watch the screen. Was too dramatic and over the top. It was too fast for those sort of reactions and emotions.
-
13. Flower of Evil
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Jan 23-24 2023
THAT ENDING SCENE. I'm losing it. That's so much that my heart is aching. This was a beautiful, dark and emotional drama. Yes there were a few things that annoyed me (FL's easily swayed heart after that initial upheaval and ML's decisions involving the FL) but my goodness that was a great and powerful ride. I'm also *forever* crying over the father-daughter relationship, that was just way too adorable to watch this conflicted man fold around her tiny fingers. My heart is in shatters in a beautiful way. Way too good for anyone to miss out--everyone needs to watch this right NOW. -
14. Angel's Last Mission: Love
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
Jan 24-25 2023
Oh my gosh I'm a whole freaking mess. I loved this so much. ML was so cute and FL was so cute. Just all a bunch of cuties. I didn't give it full points because I feel like the ending was still so vague and didn't make all of the prior things make sense. But as a love story alone, it was so good and I don't know if I've ever cried that much for a couple before.I NEVER cry but good gosh I was crying over every little thing in this drama. This makes you cry for so many reasons too--out of pity and sympathy, beauty and warmth, frustration and anger, heartbreak and sadness, and just that good old 'where is the freaking justice or mercy'. Seriously, ML's backstory still got me bawling my eyes out over here.

15. Touch Your Heart
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Jan 29, 2022 (Ep 1-7) feb 4 (ep-8-9)
I literally dont remember any of this. It's like a fever dream.
Jan 27, 2023 (Ep 1-16) finished
Not a fever dream, I remember again.
I have nothing against this drama, but I keep putting it on hold. I'm trying to watch it again and I just am so bored (on episode 11 now). Like, the FL is adorable and fun to watch and the ML is cute in his own way as well, but man... I feel like I'm getting my teeth pulled trying to finish it. I don't know why. Maybe I'm just not invested enough in the leads as a couple. They just feel a bit boring together--which isn't to say they don't have chemistry (they certainly do during their skin contact scenes). Something fundamental (idk what) is just missing between them and I can feel the lacking of it while watching them.
After writing all this out, I think I might just keep it on hold forever lol
I finished it! I stuck through and watched the remaining episodes and I'm actually really glad I did. Instead of leaving it off with a begrudging and negative feeling, I feel completely satisfied and even happy about watching this drama. The ending really made it worthwhile, so if you're like me and stuck on episode 10 give or take, imo it's worth sticking around to see the rest. There were so many sweet moments that I'm so glad I got to see (especially the last three episodes).
I'm giving it a 8/10, I can't overlook what I felt above, but it really was still a good drama that portrayed such sweet and healthy relationships. I loved that about the drama, how very healthy all the relationships were. (Although, I do love the dramatics of a toxic relationship hehe, maybe that's why I felt bored.) -
16. Ashes of Love
Chinese Drama - 2018, 63 episodes
Jan 28-30 2023
I feel like there is a lot to say about this drama.First, the negative points; they seem easier to put into words. The graphics and editing took time to get used to and even then it felt like they put no effort into it sometimes. On top of that, I feel like there was a pretty strong story plot with well rounded characters up to the point until they made the big switch with ML. It was like suddenly all logic was thrown out the window (seriously, who fights heaven and hell over a GIRL? Who would willingly stand by someone's side knowing their death was going to be pointless since it's only actually about three people? ahh that was stupid to watch), and on top of that, the scenes felt empty somehow--like they lost their spark at the end. There was so much OOMPH in the earlier parts that it felt so lackluster and entirely unoriginal. All that to say that the climax of the drama just didn't hit. Extra complaint: I would have liked to see snake boy and match-maker uncle more in the end. I feel like they lowkey made most of the scenes watchable. OH and on that note, way less demon girl and mask boy!!! Seriously, they brought the characters in way too late to get invested in them and get to know them--I feel like at that point everyone already noticed the solid plot and they just made it take longer to get to it. I FF through most of their relationship it was so uninteresting to me.
Okay now the good points: the romance, the theme of obsession vs love, and corruption. Really done well in a way that drove the point home. The ROMANCE. the angst. The longing. Dude, that was one hell of a ride. No regrets, it was beautiful and fun to watch Jimni slowly learn her heart and Xu be totally captivated by her. The bad vibes I got from the scarily obsessed males, did not disappoint me either lol. men be crazy.
Full mark: 7.5/10 (arguably 8/10) -
17. Imawa no Kuni no Arisu Season 1
Japanese Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Jan 30th-Jan 31 2023
I enjoy the games' wit and diabolicalness, but the overall plot has yet to be solved so I'm waiting to see if it will hold up to its potential. -
18. Alice in Borderland Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Jan 31-Fab 1 2023
Okay that twist at the end got me and the fight scene with the King of Spades was pretty insane. But I still think I enjoyed season 1 more because it felt less anime-ish (not saying anime is bad, but I loved season 1's vibes). I know it's based off of a manga, but you could really tell during this season with all the heart to hearts and backstories. Whatever. Still invigorating to watch. -
19. Sm:)e
Chinese Drama - 2018, 24 episodes
(started about a year ago from feb 2023)
Feb 1 2023 (started it over again)
Finished: Fab 3 2023
Too many love stories and characters. Would have been more entertaining without so much noise from those other characters. But it was cute. I think the ML was adorable, but he seemed to be missing something, still cute tho. Almost makes my fav ML list. -
20. The Untamed
Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes
feb 4-7 2023
This is so freaking good. I’m on episode 33 and good gosh it’s a breath of fresh air compared to the Eternal Love garbage (no offence). The scenery is just absolutely gorgeous and the music scores with it creates such a majestic vibe. Wonderful acting. And my god are those boy CUTE. I could watch Lan boy fix his crooked headband forever and their chemistry between their eyes and looks is just hgjtiwopfkteitnsl (for lack of a real word). Am dead. I absolutely get why people become so obsessed with this story. I’m in love. THIS is the equality I want to see in my dramas. The trust and understanding between the leads is just so beautiful to watch oh my, my heart. And I also can’t help but fall in love with all the supporting characters we get to know along the way. What a great story with great story arcs. I love how all the characters believe in different things and even when us as an audience can’t agree with their methods, it’s still somewhat understandable for why they are thinking what they are thinking. And of course the injustice due to understanding why people think the way they do, makes it even more painful to see the whole story that they aren’t seeing (if that makes sense). Seriously brilliant drama. As of right now, it’s most definitely a 9 or 9.5/10. I find sometimes the bad guy costumes look a bit fake and the fighting/stabbing isn’t realistic and that bothers me a bit so it did lose a bit of a point there (but may I just add the CGI is a world better compared to eternal love?! What a relief.) final thought: oh my god watch it right the heck now because even tho it’s not ‘romance’ in the traditional sense, I’m still bout to combust over these two adorable things.
The ending was a mind bending experience. I'm still a bit confused and unsure, but in a moralistic way which means it's good. -
21. Meow, the Secret Boy
Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Feb 7 - 8 2023
cute cute cute cute. This was just a very sweet, wholesome watch. Perhaps missing some plot wrap ups or substance (there's a lack of something keeping it out of the 9s), but it was an easy and adorable watch nonetheless. This is definitely a rather light drama (despite the talks about abandonment) and something to watch after something dark and heavy. Seeing as I just finished The Untamed, this definitely fit the bill (although nothing could be as cute as The Untamed, try as it might). I shed some tears for our 2ML and perhaps once for the ML, but other than that it didn't dig too deep into the emotions and a lot of characters stayed very 2 dimensional. It could have been great, but I think it fell a little short of great and ended up 'good'. What makes it most enjoyable is definitely the sweet moments between the leads. Adorable. -
22. Hotel del Luna
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Nov 3 2021 - would have binged but got distracted by life.
Feb 9 (restarting) - feb 11 2023
That was really good and I’m not sure why people think the ending is bad. I was wary due to the Hong sisters involvement, but I thought it was well done. Sure there was a bit of ambiguity at the end, but I’m okay with it personally. The music was great, the settings were so gorgeous, and everything was so magical. It was very well done! -
23. He's Coming To Me
Thai Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
Feb 20-22
This was very adorable. Sweet and wholesome with a fun little plot to boot. Could have used more kisses, but I'll forgive it since it's about a ghost lol. -
24. Ghost Doctor
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Feb 22-24
super cute! That ending scene made it all worthwhile. But I will say that the lack of training really made me frustrated--would have enjoyed the mentorship had it started earlier. Felt like it was just setting up the other ML to fail when they started to mess up in the OR. But I was happy with the ending. They left most of the romances open ended but it was in a positive way where you knew they most likely would get together. Considering I went in assuming there would be no romance, I was happy to see that wasn't the case. The young FL was so cute and I loved her relationship with the young ML. Very wholesome stuff. -
25. Black Cinderella
Japanese Drama - 2021, 8 episodes
Feb 25
This was absolutely sickly cute. Loved the relationships between everyone and how it actually portrayed some good healthy attachments. Very lovely friendships and romances. Short and sweet. A bit too short to fully dive in deep to some characters which would have made it better--it felt very surface level. And the 2FL didn't get nearly enough punishment (that could have ruined their life what she did... just evil). -
26. Horimiya
Japanese Drama - 2021, 7 episodes
Feb 25-26
Really cute, almost sickly so. I really enjoyed it but since I kept comparing it to the anime, it obviously wasn't as good. Regardless, a very sweet adaptation with lovely actors and actresses who really did their role justice, imo. I think ML was just a BIT too cute for me vs the anime. Anyways, a sweet story and I really liked the 2nd couple, they were really fun to root for. But it was very quick and it didn't allow much room for natural progressions (all very rushed, except for the main romance--I think they did well portraying that). The wig was horrible tho lol. and again, a lot was cut short and it just felt like a drama based off a manga--like you have to read the manga or watch the anime to fully get it. It's not much of a standalone, but again, it made me giggle and smile so it wasn't terrible imo. -
27. Wolf Girl and Black Prince
Japanese Movie - 2016
feb 26
so problematic but i just love the stupid story sm. Most of the soundtrack was really good too--especially near the ending. ML was problematic but also hot ugh. Definitely a guilty pleasure drama lol -
28. Blue Spring Ride
Japanese Movie - 2014
feb 26
i love this story way too much. The anime is SO much better, but this was cute. They just didn't do some of the scenes any justice and felt a bit empty at times (unlike the anime and manga). But, i love the story so I really can't hate this adaption.
-
29. Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai
Japanese Special - 2015, 2 episodes
feb 26
okay it was totally stupid and the girl moves like a freaking traumatized kitten, but why do I love it so much ?? guilty pleasure alert. -
30. The Black Devil and the White Prince
Japanese Movie - 2016
feb 26
THAT WAS SO UNNECESSARY. like oh ma. This was like... unexcusably hot for a high-school based movie (to ease anyone's conscience, ML was like 22 when he did this role). Jeez. I have a fever. I know it's super problematic (hellooo, consent?!) but ML was giving me heat flashes regardless (that bath scene?! And what about the thunderstorm scene?! OMG. Seriously they gotta stoppppp).
That being said: there has never been a better time to start a poly lifestyle than with these two MLs. Seriously, we got some BL going between them, too. Hands up if you agree that all three should all just be in a relationship together *raises hand enthusiastically*
'scuse me while I go take a BIG drink of cold water. Good lordt. -
31. Ano ko no, Toriko
Japanese Movie - 2018
Feb 27
This was so cute. ML really grew into someone I liked a lot. We love a supportive king. Cuteeeeeeee -
32. We Love
Japanese Movie - 2018
feb 27
let me put it this way: I have never rooted so hard in my life for the 2nd ML to succeed. That 'love' story was the worst love story i have ever seen. I'll give it to them though, they sure knew how to captivate an audience (disregarding the cringy 'comedy' bits). Imagine hating everything about the main couple's relationship and yet having a pretty decent time watching the 'romance' movie. That's some talent. Anyways, terrible romance (honestly, you can't even call it romance, it's straight up abuse), but rooting for FL to heal from ML's INTENTIONAL trauma was a pretty good time *not that she actually ever does heal* ... only good thing about the ML is the actor's face and body. Somebody bury this character alive, please. Lord let that girl escape!
Watch at your own risk. -
33. Sei no Gekiyaku
Japanese Movie - 2020
feb 27
oh m god that was fucked up.
I wish I could get that time back and my eyes could unsee it. And I hate that I can't give it a lower rating--that plot was so insanely f-d up. It honestly made NO sense yet somehow got its point across like a slap in your face. But the cinematic value? Eerily captivating like a horrid train-wreck you can't stop from happening right in front of you. Terrible. I do not ever want to meet the writer in person. Huge trigger warnings--just... just don't watch it.

34. Principal: Koi Suru Watashi wa Heroine Desu Ka?
Japanese Movie - 2018
Feb 27
It had a lot of potential and honestly the manga looks like it's really great. As a movie, however, it was missing all the important context behind absolutely everything (seems like they probably cut out a lot of scenes). The transitions between scenes were just awful and even worse, I felt like I couldn't fall in love with the couple. But hey, the manga looks like it's awesome (assuming there is a LOT more scenes between the leads to show us how they fell in love).
--wait wait wait, is this not based off a manga?? Oh no. It's not?? This was a pretty terrible movie then, honestly. There were like no good transitions between the scenes or context, and the romance was so badly done. Don't get me wrong, the plot had really great potential and if it had those missing scenes, it would have been really fantastic! But idk about you, but I couldn't fall in love with the main couple because we really didn't see them fall in love. One minute they were at most friends with some chemistry, the next they were apparently in love with each other. Like excuse me, I'm missing a lot of cute scenes here *cry* there just wasn't really any warm and fuzzy butterfly feelings for the romance. (and don't get me started on the student/teacher relationship... um, ew).
Anyways, now I'm disappointed because it looked like it would have been a really great manga or anime :(
OH, IT *IS* BASED OFF A MANGA!!!!! -
35. Strobe Edge
Japanese Movie - 2015
feb 27
twas cute, but i felt bad for the gf. But it was perfectly understandable for the most part (a few lost-in-translation moments but that's not the movie's fault) and the transitions were a lot better than most manga-turned-movie. But felt somewhat dull? Still really cute. -
36. Say "I Love You"
Japanese Movie - 2014
feb 28
it was kinda boring. FL had no personality and they did the manga/anime dirty. There was no real chemistry or flirting etc between the leads. Like... why were they together again? -

39. Let's Fight Ghost
Thai Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
May 6 2023 - May 7
They spend way too much time screaming, crying, and hesitating, when instead they could be helping their friend not die or telling their friend important missing information that would save everyone a lot of pain and suffering. Love the leads chemistry, however, and I like the storyline (ghosts are fun). And I really enjoy how they did the amnesia plot--very cute, positive, and not frustrating! (they saved frustrating for when you're screaming at the screen for them to just TELL THEM THE INFORMATION ALREADY).
Oh also the gore is pretty nifty. It’s done well comparatively to most rom-com dramas. -

Thai Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

I remember really loving the other rendition of this show. But this one kind of annoyed me. Just felt like there was too much ghost x chef. But I loved the ending with all the action. -
41. Love to Hate You
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
May 11-12 2023
I loved this from beginning to end. The strong feminist vibes with the main girl stuck till the end and I love that. When ML was all “you’re not like the other girls” she was all “women are awesome! Women have to stick together! I won’t fight dirty with another women!” And I loved it. No ‘pick me’ energy with her. She was a lovely and refreshing character and I liked that her relationship didn’t change her values or cause her to submit... And the sex scenes were obviously a plus as well—ML’s body is so attractive and muscular and big. So much yum. -
