Shows with romance where the male lead isnt a rich asshole

I made this list because I found it incredibly frustrating and a bit depressing that basically all the male love interests were rich and or unbelievably mean to the girl their supposed to fall in love with, so after some digging I cobbled together a few tittles that don't make me want to jump off a building.  They all ended up being K dramas for some reason, anyway please let me know if I missed some or if one has aired after I made this list though I doubt anyone will ever read this.

  • That Fool

    1. That Fool

    Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes

    8.5

That fool while at times being over the top cheesy is a fun romance story that is exactly the revers of most romance shows today ( rich and powerful woman falls for dimwitted fool of a man ) I don't think most women would enjoy this which is understandable but who knows give it a try.

  • History of the Salaryman

    2. History of the Salaryman

    Korean Drama - 2012, 22 episodes

    9.0

Technically the main characters end up very wealthy but only after a crazy silly story with ups and downs. The two main leads even spend time on the streets.

  • Beautiful Gong Shim

    3. Beautiful Gong Shim

    Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes

    10

I love this series because it tries to show relationships that don't have unrealistic standers for both people involved and aren't selfish or shallow which is more than I can say for most that said the female lead is made out to be "plane / unatractive but is played by a beutiful actress much like She Was Pretty ( I hate that show so much).  while the male lead is tecnecly the hair to a large sum he dosnt even know that for the majority of the show and dose not act arrogant or petty after.

  • Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi

    4. Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.5

A great comedy that shows the life of relatively normal people though most are better off than the average Joe. The romance while not in the center stage for most of the show is great and fits the comedic tone of the story very well.

  • When the Camellia Blooms

    5. When the Camellia Blooms

    Korean Drama - 2019, 40 episodes

    10

WARNING VERY SAD! This strange show somehow combines a cop drama with a heartwarming neighborhood romance that makes me want to cry.

  • Mystic Pop-Up Bar

    6. Mystic Pop-Up Bar

    Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    9.5

Again the romances are under played for most of the show favoring comedic hijinks in a magic filled universe but by the end they find center stage and add weight to the story.

  • Bring It On, Ghost

    7. Bring It On, Ghost

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    10

Bring it on ghost is in another comical and magic filled world neither of the main characters are rich or assholes and one of them is dead.

  • Sweden Laundry

    8. Sweden Laundry

    Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes

    9.0

Sweden laundry is another slightly magical comedy, strange how these keep popping up. Anyway It's short and sweet though the end remains inconclusive it's still defiantly worth your time.

  • Mr. Sunshine

    9. Mr. Sunshine

    Korean Drama - 2018, 24 episodes

    7.0

This tittle is a bit out of place here as it takes place in the 1800s but the story even without the cheesy romance element was completely compelling the male lead starts as a slave talk about not rich they whent the extra mile. It also features English conversations that almost don't bother me witch is impressive when compared to most other K dramas. (I wander how bad the foreign conversations and references are in western T.V)

  • Advertising Genius Lee Tae Baek

    10. Advertising Genius Lee Tae Baek

    Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes

    5.5

Supper cheesy and doesn't have the best writing  but it hits all my points so give it a try at least.
