Top Tier BLs
These are the BLs that both I and the public love . . . or at least they should. These are objectively good and if you disagree, you're wrong.

1. 30Sai made Doteida to Mahotsukai ni Narerurashi
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Magic? Yes. Awkward af characters? Yes. Butterflies in your stomach? 100%.
-
2. A Tale of Thousand Stars
Thai Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Although I wouldn't say this is one of my top BLs, it is incredibly good and I recognize how beloved it is. With how many people consider this to be GMMTV's best BL, it would be ridiculous not to include it.
-
3. Bad Buddy
Thai Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
A typical Romeo and Juliet story that manages to stand out because of how well it's executed in the story, writing, acting, and basically everything else. Nice to see a familial conflict that isn't about homophobia.
-
4. Gameboys
Filipino Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
Has any other show ever made me cry this much? The acting is incredible, and the story is perfection.
-
5. HIStory3: Trapped
Taiwanese Special - 2019, 20 episodes
Enemies to lovers? Criminal and cop? This is basically the blueprint for BLs not just about the romance.
-
6. BKPP
Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
We all know this show is ridiculously incredible. Absolutely no weak points. If anyone says they don't like this show either 1) they're lying or 2) they couldn't take the emotional turmoil it puts you through.
-
7. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Misunderstandings drive the plot but aren't annoying. Showcases excellent friendships and a female character that is actually good. Ridiculously adorable.
-
8. Life Senjou No Bokura
Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
Another show that will put you through it, but we all know is incredible, so we push through.
-
9. Saebit Boys' High School Council
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
It's your typical teen romance with a classic love triangle, but gay. It has all the sweetness and innocence of any good story about first love. It's your classic high school love story, but they happen to both be guys. Don't be mistaken, them being gay does play a role in the story, but it doesn't feel like that's what it's about, like it does with so many other BLs.
-
10. Like in the Movies
Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
A story about two people at different points in their journey of self-discovery and how complicated and difficult that can be.
-
11. Until We Meet Again
Thai Drama - 2019, 17 episodes
Okay, so maybe others would consider this to be too confusing, but honestly, it's not that complicated, some people just have trouble keeping things straight. I love a good story about destiny and reincarnation, so of course this was right up my alley.
-
12. We Best Love: Forever the First
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
This show definitely clicks for some people and really didn't for others. I don't know what about it pulled me in, but I was always waiting for the next episode.
-
13. We Best Love: The Runner-Up Strikes Back
Taiwanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
And here we have a story about a misunderstanding where you actually get why they didn't just talk it out. Be warned, there are some consent issues.
-
14. Not Me
Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
It's mainly a story about fighting corruption and capitalism, with romance wonderfully woven in. All the actors absolutely killed it.
-
15. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Absolutely everybody was talking about this show while it was airing, and with good reason. A classic enemies to lovers story executed wonderfully.
-
16. KinnPorsche
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
I feel like this is a show that you either love or hate. Certain aspects of it are done perfectly, while other things aren't the strongest. Only for those ready for the unhealthiest relationships ever.
-
17. Triage
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
Underrated masterpiece.
-
18. The Eighth Sense
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This show feels so REAL. It is utterly incredible, and very possibly the best K-BL out there.
-
19. My School President
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Everybody watched this. Everybody loved this. The songs slap.
-
20. Utsukushii Kare
Japanese Drama - 2021, 6 episodes
I get that not everyone is as obsessed with this show as I am, however I have watched it 3 times as a person who practically never rewatches shows. I even watched the first episode of the second season twice on the day it aired. A lot of people get caught up on how toxic their relationship is, but it doesn't even take one episode to know it's gonna be unhealthy, so that's on them for continuing to watch as far as I'm concerned.

21. Love Supremacy Zone
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
