2023 Completed Watchlist

1. The Glory
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A gripping revenge story done in a very non transparent way. This drama is the epitome of the saying 'boiling a frog' in terms of how our FL is dealing with her revenge. The way our FL does not necessarily get her hands dirty but instead plays the characters against one another, has been brilliant to watch unfold! I am a little over Netflix's approach to smaller seasons by splitting dramas into two seasons structure, especially considering the ending wasn't necessarily a high note ending. The cinematography and acting have been outstanding with Song Hye Kyo doing a stellar job in comparison to her previous works I've seen. I'm holing thumbs that this will be THE revenge story for 2022/2023!
-
2. Let's Start the Argument
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
This story was intertwined beautifully to result in the masterpiece we were left with. I see complaints on wasted ship potential, but in all honestly that romance would have taken away for the brilliant story and seen as extra. I think as is, it had the perfect amount of chemistry - exceptional banter between our leads and that plot development was so ripe, that it will keep you invested all the way to the final minutes of the last episode for more!
-
3. The Circumstances of Pungdeok Villa Room 304
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A cute short story going form enemy roommates to lover roommates all while entering around the work place. The on ML comes to terms with his love life while the other finds a new purpose for his life. All wrapped up sweetly in the drama.
-
4. Anna
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
On its own, I found the drama as alright, there were a few points that stood out and made me think about the character and the decisions she made. The one saying continues to come to mind is: the grass isn't always greener on the other side which rang true for our FL after all her lies. Once I found out there's a directors cut which is 2Eps longer and explains situations more, I was disappointed I didn't find out sooner and watch that version instead, I feel like my rating and enjoyment might have been much higher because this wasn't bad, it was simply lacking the extra depth.
-
5. Not Me
Thai Drama - 2021, 14 episodes
The overall arc of this story was an unusual one, especially in the Thai BL world. They took a varied spin on the boy’s varsity life and turned it into a story with great meaning and fight relating to the state of equality in Thailand. Okay, so the story itself was not necessarily THAT deep, but it did a great job in raising awareness, starting serious conversations and speaking volumes that so many can’t. Full review here.
-
6. Alchemy of Souls: Part 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
The 8.5 rating was predominantly based on the lack of continuity of the story and how certain reveals felt flat and underwhelming. Overall, I LOVED the characters, their growth (not the FL though) and chemistry between the entire cast. A great fantasy Drama to watch with more of a romance focus. Full review here.
-
7. Kanojo wa Kirei datta
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
I liked this version! I didn't have second lead syndrome like I did in the Korean version because the romantic relationship felt a bit forced and lacklustre. There also seemed to be some weird cuts in terms of plot progression which made the second half feel rushed with some of the original plot lines from the Korean adaptation feeling unnecessary.
-
8. Unlock the Boss
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I didn't expect much from this drama and thought it was going to be a bit of a silly watch, but instead it turned out to be such a little gem that captured your heart through its characters while adding an element of mystery. Full review here.
-
9. Island
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
This entire season was used to build the world and introduce us to the various characters in play. Because of this there wasn't much happening with the plot and it was rather slow paced. The last two episodes were certainly the stand out episodes by far, I just hope that season two will match its energy and pace. This drama is a great example of how split seasons don't work for every drama. I anticipate many people needing to be overly convinced to return for the second season.
-
10. Work Later, Drink Now Season 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I absolutely loved the stories behind how they met and became friends as well as their family stories I think it really added value to getting to know the characters a whole lot more. As for how well put together the season was, I can't say much as it felt disjointed and out of place in comparison to the first season which seemed to work towards a point in the story.
-
11. Their Report Card
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
A short drama about having conversations around sex and how it's viewed in society is a must watch. Besides the over emphasis on visuals and claims of being soft porn in some scenes, overall I think its educational and raises awareness around conversations seen as too taboo to talk about especially amongst females.
-
12. Kiyo in Kyoto
Japanese Drama - 2023, 9 episodes
A women centred drama that focuses on the passion and love within friendships, new and old, honestly has me on a hold where I’m unable to move on. This entire drama was beautifully made in each and every way, from the scenes, the cinematography right down to the music score as it warms its way into your heart.
-
13. Ghost Host, Ghost House
Thai Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
This was a typical 'switch off your brain and enjoy' type of watch. There was a basic story line which had MANY plot holes and random plot drivers, but overall it's a good silly watch where the main leads had decent chemistry. Overall, it had a great concept, but the story lacked consistency.
-
14. My Tooth Your Love
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I was really loving this story so much, the characters and the storyline was so sweet, so adorable and the way they created the world around them was just great! There were certain aspects to the story I wasn't too keen on and didn't make a whole lot of sense because they didn't have enough time to flesh everything out. Also certain plot lines that could very well have been fleshed out weren't? Overall it's an adorable watch if you can look past the last two episodes and their rushed plot drivers.
-
15. Mood Indigo
Japanese Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
-
16. Cutie Pie: Special Episode
Thai Special - 2023, 4 episodes
Did we need a sequel? No, not really? Did we need fan service? Also no, but we got both? In terms of plot or any sort of character development, don't come looking here, this is a typical switch off your brain and don't expect much kind of watch. It's cute and has it's moments, but besides the fan service and PPLs there isn't a whole lot going on here. For only being four episodes it dragged and had way too many awkward silences? This could have easily been a 2 episode bit.
-
17. Prison Playbook
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Despite the cover, this drama ended up being such a comfort watch where A) you're rooting for most of the characters B) you love the dynamic of their friendships and C) it just leaves you feeling all soft and fuzzy inside. My only downside was that it is a slow watch, I do struggle with focusing on slower watches.
-
18. Accomplishment of Fudanshi Bartender
Japanese Drama - 2022, 2 episodes
Don’t ask me what possessed me to download and watch this, because there are only two 25 min episodes lol, but it was such a short random watch, and has the potential to really become a really interesting story! I can’t find the manga in English anywhere, but from what I've see online, there are only 16 CH out as well? I would have loved to see more of this story and the various cocktails he would have made for his guests & the meaning he related to each char being served. They even give you the recipes for every cocktail made in the Ep. It's an extremely cringy watch & there’s not a lot of substance to the MLs character besides the fact that he is a fudanshi, but it's funny, quick, light & leaves you wanting more of how he pairs men together in the bar (including his own colleagues)!
-
19. Midnight Motel
Thai Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
This was short, fast paced and turned into such a great watch despite being kind of predictable? There are plot holes and loose ends left unanswered, BUT it's such an easy and uncomplicated watch that gives you hope for our misfortunate leads who only had terrible cards dealt their entire lives. Being the first instalment of the midnight series, if this is the standard, I'm SO excited to see what the other two have for us!
-
20. Dirty Laundry
Thai Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
There was SO much energy in this drama with the pacing being slightly slower than its predecessor. The humour was more exaggerated & playful with loads of over acting, breaking the 4th wall & ridiculous chuckles. But beware, this type of humour is not for everyone!
-
21. The New Employee
Korean Drama - 2022, 7 episodes
Ah, what a great little palate cleanser of a story that will give you some fluffy feels while watching! It was sweet and simple with no extra frills, straight forward and wholesome to its core! The chemistry between our leads was impressive and they were both able to show us a variety of emotion. It was also SOO nice having older actors who didn't look ridiculously young, but who were also acting their age!
-
22. Love to Hate You
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
I don't think I've ever rated a rom-com so highly before, but this was honestly a goodie!! It was an all rounder in terms of the romance, the comedy, the acting, the story line, the pace, the production, the chemistry, you name it! Hands down going to be my go to rom-com recommendation from now on!
-
23. The Law
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
It's the first time in a while where I enjoyed the start and end of a drama, but felt a bit lost in the middle. I think it was the flow of how the story was told, they did a mash up of present day and the main characters narrating things as if they were looking back on what happened. A few scenes would cut to the next and a voice over would briefly explain how the story got there. I know it allows the story to focus elsewhere, but at times made the story feel disjointed and fast tracked. Overall it was a decent story and justice was served all round, but this one didn't exactly blow my hair back.
-
24. Trolley
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
A great watch that sucks you in with its intrigue and mystery, unfolding slowly with twists and turns you wouldn't expect. This one's for all the women out there. To be brave. To stand up for what you believe in and what's right. Not to hide or run away from shame or what others might think of you, but to stand firmly in who you are and who were made to be. Nobody can take that away from you, no matter their status, their power or influence. You don't have to keep quiet for someone else's greater good, especially if that means robbing you of your own greatness.
-
25. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
-
26. Love is Dang Nyang Dang Nyang
Korean Drama - 2022, 11 episodes
This was such an adorable and short watch! I honestly wish that SK would make longer BLs because there is such potential in all these stories, but they're cut short due to time! The cast was done so brilliantly! Both Milk and Choco actors were brilliant in their performances and representing the animals they once were as well as our MC who managed to, in such a short time, show us a range of emotions and thoughts, through his facial expressions and body language! So much sweetness!
-
27. My School President
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
One of the most wholesome and sweetest series I’ve come across in a long time. They were able to capture the innocence of young teenage love in such a way that sneaks into your hart and you’re fully invested in following their journey to discover who they are within friendships and in the world. With a catchy OST you'll fall in love with instantly, please watch at your own risk, you will get swept up by these boys!
-
28. Manner of Death
Thai Drama - 2020, 14 episodes
Despite watching most of the episodes in the incorrect order at first (not entirely my fault by the way), I really enjoyed this one! There was an element of constant suspense while journeying alongside the characters trying to get to the bottom of the town's shady happenings. The chemistry between MaxTul and their scenes together are always a treat!
-
29. Moonlight Chicken
Thai Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Did I enjoy watching this drama? YES! Would I have loved to see more? ABSOLUTELY, YES - IT'S ACTUALLY NEEDED! My main criticism here is that there was simply too much trying to be addressed for the short 8 episodes they had to address everything. What was marketed as a main couple story turned into an ensemble cast, which was not necessarily a bad thing because the stories from the surrounding characters were great in their own way, but did lack in certain aspects due to time constraints. As per usual Earth and Mix's chemistry was off the charts and I rather enjoyed seeing Mix in such a flirty and not so naive role, but the real show stealers were definitely Fourth and Gemini who were just too adorable for words, breaking all sorts of expectations with their performances. For a series that had INCREDIBLE cinematography with a homey OST to match, this really turned into such a comfy watch!
-
30. Liar Game 2
Japanese Drama - 2009, 9 episodes
I binged this drama in one sitting and while it’s been well over a year since watching the first season, it was still very much a unique classic in terms of its editing style and flamboyant personality characters. I’d be lying if I didn’t say the first few games went RIGHT over my head because A) I’m not that interested in gambling games & B) I pretty much suck at maths lol. All in all, it was an entertaining watch! A special mention goes out to Mushroom for his consistency in managing to backstab and be the loose cannon of the lot!!
-
31. One Shot Scandal
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
I wasn’t exactly upset/mad as much as other viewers about this drama, but I also wasn’t blown away about it, in fact, I was kind of glad it came to an end. The drama itself gave some incredibly funny memes & moments, which will be difficult to forget and I really LOVED the use of older characters, and hope that it will be seen as a positive influence on the industry to not shy away from romances between older characters being wholesome! I did have some issues with a few side plots, namely the one romance plot (I won't spoil it), the way Dong Hee's role unfolded and I’m still not completely sold on Hae Yi’s mom returning either. A decent watch overall.
-
32. Chijo no Seppun
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Besides the random jump scare cuts to rather steamy intros and scene transitions, this one was a real treat to watch! The story itself was jam-packed with all the good tropes & minimal misunderstandings! As per usual the ML started off as a creep (as most JP rom-coms MLs do), but became an endearing character who would do anything for the FL and it was incredibly wholesome to watch unfold as their relationship was "unconventional" from the start. My biggest gripe was the SML and his attachment issues towards the FL. He knew she wasn't into him and that she had already chosen and fallen in love with the ML but he kept inserting himself and even tried, MULTIPLE TIMES, to confess and kiss her. Yikes.
-
33. The Glory Season 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This has to be one of the better revenge stories I've watched in a while where I was left feeling justice was actually served. There were no frilly bits or redemption arcs, but just solid justice served cold. There was a lot of noise around the romance side of the plot, which didn't bother me as much to be honest, but in terms of how it ended with our FL and how she became a symbol of hope to those who were wronged, I found beautiful that she had people to share that with and stand up for. A great watch that will surely keep you watching until the end.
-
34. The Eclipse
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I watched this on a whim while taking a break from my CW list and gosh I was not ready for how this one was going to suck me in. For starters, the chemistry between First and Khaotung was off the charts! Nobody warned me about the angsty stares and raw emotion that would bounce between these two. They are incredible actors and each time I see them, I am dumbfoundedly impressed all over again by their talent! The story itself was also a great one, but be warned, what I thought was blatantly clear in terms of the underlining story, wasn't what some of the viewers over on the page picked up and in turn, dragged the plot for being over dramatic and far fetched. Once you take a step back and see what they're really fighting for, the plot itself turns rather poetic, into something worth treasuring, which fits perfectly with First & Khaotung's performance!
-
35. Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
What a gem this was! I had no idea what I was getting into in terms of the rollercoaster of emotions and adventure this drama took me on, but boy, was it one to cherish. I really appreciated the raw emotion and flaws that were represented in the thought processes of mistakes made, regret and past stories. Like most viewers, I too would have loved to see more screen time spent on explaining Masumi and Ritsu's stories as a couple and as individuals, but the stories of Yuma and Meguru were quite wholesome and homey in their own right, which also brought Masumi and Ritsu together in times that wouldn't have possibly come to light if they were alone. Overall, I think it was a steady and thoughtful look at how our main characters would want to spend their last few days as the world was coming to an end. It does leave you questioning, how would you spend the last few days if you knew the world was ending.
-
36. (Advertising) Agency
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
Women centred office drama in a man's world? Oh, it's on! I thoroughly appreciated this drama and all the struggles the team went through and was entirely satisfied with the outcome. One thing to note that i appreciated the most was in terms of plot not constantly being win-win positive scenarios where the lead always comes out top or always wins, but instead they showed her struggle in terms of inside the office up against a bunch of men who wanted to solely use her as a prop after feeling threatened by her skill, but also the struggles she faced in her personal life as well as dealing with her relationships on her team. My second thing to note that I appreciated was how the scriptwriter gave our FL some absolute killer lines throughout where she cleverly played on words, and put people in a spin, which provided evidence for her skill and talent after being in the copy world for so long and honestly gave the character so much more life! A moderately paced drama, but a goodie!
-
37. Liquor
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This wasn’t the worst, but to be fair, if I had watched this one without the other currently airing KBLs, I probably would have been content with what we got, but recent KBLs have stepped up their game SO MUCH that it’s very difficult to ignore the fact that they tried to do too much in too little time! The pacing was off because of that & some of the scenes felt a little flat between our leads (especially the emotional ones). It was a decent watch, but not necessarily one I would be recommending any time soon.
-
38. Ameiro Paradox
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Why did nobody tell me how adorable this was??! It has all the fluff with moments to make your heart melt while kicking your feet in the air from all the sweetness. The plot itself was rather shallow, but understandable for the amount of time they had, and what felt like their relationship moving pretty fast as it did seemed rushed at some points, but you kind of have to stop and remind yourself that if you take into account how long it takes to do a "scoop", their relationship would have actually developed over a few months, which would make more sense. Their acting was on par to deliver the script at hand and the chemistry between them was something to appreciate. Overall it was a delightful in between binge to get that sweet tooth craving sorted!

40. Our Dating Sim

41. The High Priest Rembrary

43. Sleep Memo
Korean Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
I was enjoying this drama until I saw other people's comments. Was it the best drama I've seen? No, not at all. Did I have fun watching it? Yeah, sure. It was a standard historical if I'm not mistaken, offering nothing new to the table in terms of standing out. Park Hyung Sik is what got me to start the drama, I was, however, so wrapped up in the friendship between the Crown Prince, JY, GR and MJ and almost wanted the plot to follow their adventures getting to the bottom of murders, deaths, etc more than the actual plot we got. I also wanted a MUCH better ending or at least a more well thought out ending for our main couples. Overall it was a laid back watch to pass the time.
-
44. Unintentional Love Story
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This was a major step up in terms of production for a KBL which left me rather impressed. Great cinematography, OST and even longer episodes, 35 minutes opposed to the usual 15! The storyline itself was done nicely where they presented an actually plot that followed through. The acting was quite impressive, and the bond formed between WY, DH and HT was so great to watch unfold, I need more! Speaking of more, there did come a point where I got a bit frustrated over the second lead couple as I do think their storyline was rushed in order to match the pace of getting everything done by the end of the tenth episode. I need their story to be properly fleshed out looking into their past growing up as well as the trauma that Dh suffered in school. I really hope they work one something together in the future, maybe even a spin-off? P.S. favourite scene has to be when TJ approaches WY in his room about lying and why he approached him in the first place! (Lastly they brought back the typical kdrama awkward kiss and hug trope - not a fan!)
-
45. Queenmaker
Korean Drama - 2023, 11 episodes
I'm not a huge fan of political dramas, but this was one heck of a ride to watch. A different kind of revenge story. A women centred drama where they band together to take down an influential family and their power greedy in law. The twists, the turns, the backstabbing and tricks displayed made this a decent watch and one I was definitely in for. Something I struggle with revenge dramas especially kdramas is the lack of justice displayed in the final episode to really hit the nail in the coffin for the antagonist and unfortunately this drama fell into the same trap. The final episode tied a few of the strings together for closure, but felt rather anticlimactic after such a nail biting fight. Overall, it was a watch that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
-
46. Jack Frost
Japanese Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
I won't lie in saying this one confused me a little. It jumped around a lot and I suppose they were trying to add a layer of mystery for the audience being unaware with the ML, but knowing at the same time, which made some of the jumps confusing as to whether we were in the present or the past. I hardly talk about ethics of storylines as it's often the base of the story and is usually done in taste, however, with the amnesia trope there are instances where characters tend to blur the lines which is why I'm not the biggest fan of it in Romances. The actors did a superb job at portraying their characters and their chemistry leaped off the screen. The cinematography was done beautifully and really added to the over all tone of the drama. I would recommend the watch as I'm sure others wouldn't have the same hesitation as me.
-
47. After School War Activities
Korean Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
This was such an anxious watch, and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The chemistry and relationships between the cast was brilliant, and the kids who were cast did an incredible job. The production quality was well done and you can see that a lot of time and effort went in to the overall tone and feel of the drama itself. Due to this being split into two parts, there are a lot of plot holes that were overlooked and I'm hoping they will be addressed in the second part, but considering there are only four episodes, I won't hold my breathe for all of them being addressed. I would say so far, they've done a decent job!
-
48. Old Fashion Cupcake
Japanese Drama - 2022, 5 episodes
Ah, what an endearing watch! Nozue and Togawa totally snuck into my heart through this drama and I don't think they're ever leaving. Talk about a bunch of dorks in love, I'm obsessed! From seeing Nozue being so lost in his comfort only to be brought out by Tpgawa who was so lost in everything Nozue. I absolutely loved their fluff and vicariously lived through each and every scene filled with all those yummy desserts. This drama warmed my heart so much. Watching Togawa doing everything he can to woe Nozue was so endearing and very sneaky, but so satisfying! I loved them together as a pair, and I really want more of them, the story was much too short!
-
49. Bed Friend
Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
The production, the OST and the final editing were all done exceptionally well and in terms of other Thai BLs out there, it definitely stood out. My drawback was the storyline where we get the typical BL deep diving into difficult issues only to lightly cover them with a few hugs and kisses to make the main characters all better. While they did address some serious issues, and in comparison to its predecessors it was definitely a mark up in terms of how those issues were dealt with in terms of making this more of a healing series, but in saying that, I personally felt like they tried to do too much trauma for the amount of dealing they actually needed which had to be squashed to deliver the "much anticipated" scenes initially marketed. It's sometimes difficult to tackle issues sensitively, while sill going in depth, but when you have limited time, this can make things much more difficult for the actual storyline. They did an ok job, but it did feel rather shallow at times throwing the incredible chemistry between Uea and King off slightly.
-
50. 30Sai made Doteida to Mahotsukai ni Narerurashi
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I cannot even begin to think I would react to having this power, and although there were loads of ups and downs for our MC, it was such a wholesome watch that allowed you to root for them through it all. Things were tied together nicely on both ends although at times it did feel like the second couple's story didn't draw me in as much and if anything made me slightly uncomfortable. Overall, this was such a comfy watch where you just wanted to cradle the mc in your arms and keep them safe.
-
51. I Wanna Bite It
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Watching this was like watching a preview/trailer for something that still needs to be released. Personally they robbed us with this! It could have easily been a 10 episode drama with all that chaos and proper development. The concept and acting was all there, but the editing and jump cuts didn't aid the storytelling at all.
-
52. Duty After School: Part 2
Korean Drama - 2023, 4 episodes
I'm not entirely sure what happened here, ending aside how did it go to this after that first season? Firstly it felt like I watched a spin off from part one instead of a part two where things were based in the same world, but essentially didn't follow the same storyline? Besides the fact they used shots from part one in their poster in order to lure us back into thinking certain characters didn't die, there were super vague explanations to ease certain queries, but in fact MOST questions we as a audience had from part one was not answered in part two. The so called spheres, even though mentioned throughout somehow appeared less and less in the drama almost as if budget didn't allow for more and all of a sudden the drama went from being a war against alien spheres to a war against one another. They tried to do too many things and quite frankly it was a waste of such a beautiful ensemble of a cast. The production was great, the acting was superb, I just wish we had the plot to go along with it. Rather disappointed with this one.
-
53. The Eighth Sense
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Honestly my best watch for the month of April hands down, even though the month isn't finished! Their cinematography, the direction, the chemistry, the music, I loved watching this drama so much! We got to grow and journey with them! I must say, they tackled a biggie in terms of the trauma and depression that JW faced and they did deal with it rather lightly, but for only having ten episodes to wrap the story up, besides the rush in aiding his trauma, I do feel they wrapped things up nicely and left us with warm hearts and happy feels. It was incredible watching this one each week along with the others over on twitter, it gave us EVERYTHING! I need to rewatch this one ASAP!!
-
54. Chains of Heart
Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
After all that, they gave us THAT ending? I feel robbed? With some of the inconsistencies and plot holes I could have maybe let them go for a better ending, but the ending of the series made all the other flaws stand out even more. I LOVED the cinematography in the first few episodes and you can see a lot of thought and effort went into it, but in terms of the rest of production, the acting, etc, I wasn't blown away. Even the BIG mystery wasn't that mysterious because of how obvious and predictable the plot was. The main actors chemistry was good though.
-
55. Never Let Me Go
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I was quite excited to start this one because of how abuzz my TL was about it while it aired, but in all honestly I feel like I'm missing the hype? The plot was all over the place and had many plot holes or nonsensical happenings as well as unrealistic/rushed interactions between characters. The "boss" / "bodyguard dynamic didn't sit quite well with me considering they were both still in high school which lead to a few awkward interactions which I was barely able to watch. It had a very promising start, amazing kiss scenes and production value was a lot higher than most BLs, but unfortunately everything else unraveled rather fast with the last two episodes going in circles, worse than a dog trying to find its sleeping spot. Not my best watch considering the high quality ones I've watched so far, this month!
-
56. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
This was one of the most down to earth JBLs I've seen where it was full of fluff at the same time? They were adorable and it was great being able to watch them navigate through their thoughts and feelings. It was such an easy watch that will easily melt your heart!
-
57. Triage
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
Were there loads of plot holes? Yes! Did that stop me from enjoying this? No! The first few episodes were a little tiring, and because of the time loops it made it difficult for any sort of proper relationship to develop easily, and I did get quite annoyed that even after Tol heard about ALL the things Tin went through to help, he wouldn't stop whining when it was his turn to do the same for Tin, but overall, I really enjoyed the story and the ride it sent us on. Things were majorly confusing, but in an enjoyable way.

This was a cute one that was more congruent than most of the KBLs out there. The story was adorable, short and to the point and most of all believable in terms of being able to relate and grow with the characters. It wasn't the best put there, but still better than what else currently airing, especially for KBLs. They honestly could have done with a longer story line and more to their relationship.

61. A Boss and a Babe
Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
I was super excited for this, but I have to admit from Ep1 I was gravely disappointed. Not only did I quickly lose interest in the story line Cher's character (Book Kasidet Plookphol) was quite unbearable to watch, the guy should have been fired ages ago. I don’t think I’ve ever lost interest in a set of characters and plot lines as quickly as I did for this series. By the time we got to the 9th Episode, I had completely forgotten it was airing. The plot was all over the place, Cher should have been fired from day one and quite frankly the chemistry between ForceBook wasn’t anything to ride home about - I had high expectations due to their fan base, my mistake, I know! I practically stuck around purely for the badge of saying I got through this mess and maybe for the sake of Book and his good looks, it just wasn’t enough to carry the entire series on his back. And don’t even get me started on the multiple messes that came about in the last three episodes. Listen, I’m not going to tell you to avoid the show, but I’m definitely not going to encourage you either. Its sub-par and mediocre in my books.

Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
Oh, what a beautiful story this was. If anyone every asks for a wholesome story about discovering how one fits in the world, while finding a place they belong to, all while healing through past trauma, this will be my one to recommend. The characters were all so precious, and they each managed to creep into my heart in their own unique way. Honestly, this was a great watch, journeying along with them, only to leave feeling all of the warmth their performances and presentation of this story.

68. Star Struck
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
Not one of my favourites out of the KBLs I've seen to date. It was a story that had one too many complications in the actual plot and characters development, and was the perfect example of the team trying to tackle too many things it has time for. Despite the staged "kiss" (I'm assuming due to idol contracts), the leads didn't quite do it for me in terms of chemistry, which then lead to the story feeling a little off or awkward at times. Like I've said before, not one of my favourites, and also not one I would be recommending any time soon.

69. The Good Bad Mother
Korean Drama - 2023, 14 episodes
"A Tiger Mom's Path to Healing & Redemption" is what one of the reviews said and it makes so much sense. This was an incredible watch in terms of story telling, charter arcs and develoment. It was by no means the perfect story, but it was a different one that made you feel all sorts of emotion while watching. The cast did a phenomenal job with each of their characters and the way the story looped back on itself to end was simply heart warming.

70. Oh! Youngsimi
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
There's always a struggle when you take something that was previously animated and try to make a live action from it. It's either a hit or a miss and this case it was a miss. I haven't watched the animation, but in terms of the storyline, there was nothing new or outstanding here, I guess I had high hopes that it would be a one up on Love is For Suckers, but unfortunately they presented nothing new and left the story telling rather flat. The characters were over the top in order to align with the animated versions, but this did no favours for the drama or the story being told besides make it extra cringe to watch. Over all, it was very mediocre.

71. Riso no Kareshi
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Light, fluffy and all the in between. This was a cute binge that leaves you with happy feels after watching. Was it different? No. Did they tell the story differently or offer you something exciting? Also no, but this would be a great example of "if it's not broke, don't fix it".

72. Zenra Meshi
Japanese Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
This started off so strong and promising that it looked like something that could have been a favourite. Unfortunately, about half way through, I get the impression they changed scriptwriters or directors as the story took a drastic turn away form what it spent episodes building. There were introductions of unnecessary characters and side arcs, character developments that went off course and ideas that simply fell off the track? It was a hot mess by the end of it. A decent watch, but a mess.

73. A Tractor Loaded with Love
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
In true KBL fashion, it was a cute story packaged out in the country. There wasn't too much to explore in terms of the characters and what they offered due to the lack of time, but it was light, fluffy and the perfect binge to give you all those feel good moments expected form a typical KBL.

74. Cheongdam International High School
Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
This story or plot line wasn't exactly exciting or different, but the characters were much more complex than expected for this type of drama. Despite being two completely different stories, there were a lot of similarities to Shadow beauty (2021) in terms of look, feel and way in which the story was told. I personally enjoyed this one as a side watch where I could simply turnoff my brain and watch. The characters had layers to them that I wish could have been explored with maybe one or two episodes more, but the open ending might have something to do with that.
