My 2021 Most ENJOYED
These are my favorite, most enjoyed dramas that came out in 2021. NOT the dramas I watched during the year, but dramas that aired in 2021.
I organize them by score BUT also by how many times I rewatched it (even if I just go back to specific episodes).

1. Destruction
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
masterpiece.
Some people found it weird and not very ...... appealing? point is, they thought it was too boring and ... not worth their time i guess? (this comes from the few opinions that i read from MLD while the show was airing.)
but i loved it. i liked the actors' chemistry and the second lead couple triangle was honestly pure art lol. i liked the drama. (some people would complain about the second lead couple having more spice than the main leads but i rather it be that way. no first lead love triangle :D )
the concepts and abstract ideas that this drama portrait were very interesting and appealed to me in a weird way.
was a fun watch for sure (and a sad one T.T yall know i love me some crying shit)

2. Navillera
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
***SPOILERS***
the old man was so freaking cute man. such a sweetheart. why do people still think that men cant do ballet? yall are losers that have fragile masculinity issues and big/fragile egos.
why did it have to be so sad though? T.T when he started forgetting things I literally started falling apart.

3. Seen from a Distance, Green Spring
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
This one definitely had to be here because it had me looking forward to episodes each week. Not my #1 for 2021 but definitely needs to be included on this list.

4. Shall I Have a Cup of Coffee?
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
okay... I know what you might be thinking. why the heck is this drama so high up?
but hear me out. I was surprisingly touched by this drama. it really moved me with a lot of the messages that were indirectly conveyed, yet straightforward at times.
it was a slow-paced kind of drama where you learn about pretty much every character in the drama to the point where you can get to like them and relate to them when you need to.
But at the same time, the writing does this weird thing where sometimes you feel like you don't know anything about the characters so you need to pay more attention to the drama but in reality, you ACTUALLy don't know anything about that character not because you weren't paying attention but because some of their backstories were either entirely left out or incomplete. And that is a bold choice in the script because people could always call you out on being lazy or a bad writer because you left "plot holes" in your story. but the drama somehow makes takes you to the point where you care a lot about the characters and when stuff happens you just go "WHYYYY!?!?!? T.T "

5. Blue Birthday
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
***SPOILERS!!!!!****
omg yeri was so freaking good on this drama. congrats to her on a solid debut (I don't think this is her actual acting debut work but anyways)
the story was super interesting with all of the cool time travel stuff and honestly, the whole concept was very well planned and thought out so I have no complaints about plot holes.

6. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
cute and funny.
liked the fact that the ML story was a mystery for some of the drama and he was really guilty and then learned that it wasn't his fault. y'know like, it really wasn't his fault so he shouldn't ruin his life over it.
they made a cute couple. the dimple couple XD

7. Don't Think of Interrupting My Studies
Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
I loved this. It was a refreshing cute little school drama.
I really like this actress actually and I thought that being the super-smart one for once was a really good role for her. I liked the overall vibe of this.
-
8. Lovers of the Red Sky
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
i like the leads individually so when I heard they were doing a drama together I jumped on the wagon and decided to watch lol
it was fun. not much to be said. they are both great actors
-
9. Vincenzo
Korean Drama - 2021, 20 episodes
watched it. loved it.
kinda hated the FL because she was really annoying but I dealt with it because this wasn't about her. it was about vincenzo. :)
She got less annoying towards the end but honestly, the beginning was kind of unbearable for me because I wasn't expecting the amount of ridiculousness I got from her.

10. Jin Xin Si Yu
Chinese Drama - 2021, 45 episodes
love the actress. I think she's great
I've only seen the ML in one other drama so I cant opinionate much but he seems fine.
I honestly just liked this as a more historically accurate historical drama. no magic, the king isn't directly involved in everything, there are no princes coming after anyone's neck. just two really rich and influential families getting violent because one family is jealous of the other and they are power-hungry

11. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
love the actors. great story. not overrated so stop saying it is
-
12. My Small Indeed Fortunate
Chinese Drama - 2021, 28 episodes
these two were so freaking good together. their chemistry was off the charts (in my opinion)
the story isn't original at all but the actors do a really good job of giving some actual personalities to these generically written characters.

13. Kanojo wa Kirei datta
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
100/10.
would definitely recommend it. I have already rewatched it like 3 times.
i really like the ML and 2nd ML and this is the first time I see the FL but she is literally so pretty omg. she seemed great. very expressive lol but not in an excessive way where it comes to be distracting. she is just the right amount of expressive when she needs to be.
