Favorite Dramas

This show was there for me when I needed someone to console me. I had been contemplating suicide then. Despite the seemingly ominous plot direction, it excellently captured the little moments of life worth celebrating. 

THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. IT'S SO WELL MADE FROM START TO FINISH.

Best written somewhat-satirical, thriller drama I've ever seen. Best cast, music, cinematography. Everything I wanted in a makjang drama is in Sky Castle.

Perfect from start to finish. Brilliantly showed the growth of not only the main couple, but the rest of the characters as well. I love how fairly they showed the struggles and triumphs of the main leads, and how it did not sell the show by only showcasing the male lead (which I think is the direction most dramas of this genre usually take). Warm and happy feelings, (and a bunch of heartbreaks) that makes me feel grateful for being alive at this time and having witnessed it! Definitely an effective happy vitamin and a series I want to watch again and again.

I think this really moved my heart, above all. Its depiction of love for others/fellowmen is no joke. The characters are magnificent. And this show was just wonderfully produced.

Didn't lose its momentum throughout its run. Had brilliant turns and twists, making you realize the intricately tangled lives of the ensemble. Han Hyo Joo's stellar performance as Dong Yi really sold the show for me, but the rest of the cast were spectacular as well.

I love the casualness of this show. Love can bud slowly and surely. Close knit friendships are wonderful. And family is your comfortable cushion in life every time you fall and feel little. The love portrayed here--the many forms it took--felt so genuine. Made me want to live again.

A bunch of young adults at the turning points in their lives. Watched this first at 23, I could feel their frustrations and their hopes for a brighter future. Inspired me to do my best as well, despite the hellish realities that surround me in my daily life.

Wow. What can I say... This drama is jam-packed with the real feels--may they be about life, love, family, or friendships! I cried almost every episode. It's just sooo good there was no way I wouldn't empathize with every character in this--even the minor characters are given depth despite the short screen time. The main couple is one of the best among all the dramas I've seen.

Love the ensemble so much! Had a lot of good laughs that kind of blend well with the serious, and oftentimes touching, character-driven mini stories spread throughout this series. Definitely a healing drama!
