Dating Shows I Watched/ing (with Links & Subs status)
with SPOILER-FREE Review!
These dating shows are mostly Korean and some Japanese. I like watching these shows when they are airing and I lack the motivation these days to watch aired dating shows unless it is fairly recent and just not haven't known about such show earlier. Nevertheless I include dating shows I am interested in watching (classified as Plan to Watch).

2. Love Siblings
Korean TV Show - 2024, 16 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9.5/10 ⭐️ With this novel show concept, it enabled them to warm up with living together easier. I saw its advantages esp. in the early part & the fun when they dont know the siblings yet. But as the relationships got deeper, I can see how being family involved makes it more serious & how will this translate outside the show. It makes the stakes even higher since reunions outside the shows is not uncommon. For the first time, the participants had been vocal about how it will be in the real world so I felt how most have been sincere in joining this.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9/10 ⭐️ I am satisfied with the cast despite most people really expressed their disdain for 1 particular member by the end. My heart grew fonder for particular members and really wish them best. For the pairs formed, endgame or not, it is really a ride! There were heart fluttering moments that really made me happy but I didnt expect them easily shatter. The chemistry I enjoyed the most out of this were non-romantic relations (siblings & friendships).
Journey: 10/10 ⭐️ After watching the last ep, the way it wrapped up showed how this is not just a dating show but almost like a family show. People not just learning about themselves and the partner they want, but also their siblings and even how they want to live life in the company of others of alone.
Endgame: 9.5/10 ⭐️ Satisfying end game I guess but it was fortunate that everything worked out the way it did. I am just curious about the status of particular couple(s) .

3. Nineteen to Twenty
Korean TV Show - 2023, 13 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9.5/10 ⭐️ Tbh, I was unsure if I’ll like this because the participants are way too young and I have passed the stage of finding any school dramas watchable. But I love dating shows and this is something new. I like the fact that they were recruited/applied when they are about to enter their 20s, the legal age in Korea, meaning they're of the same age, It is different because there is a time when they are just in the ’19 school’ wherein dating is forbidden, then they’ll move in the ’20 house’ and celebrate New Year together and then can freely date.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9.5/10 ⭐️ Every cast member is really charming in their own way. Everyone really have done their best in the show. I find someone who is frustrating, another disappointing, but everyone have handled well the misunderstandings. The couples formed and the’ potential couples’ have good chemistry. I can see why most of them had a hard time having clarity with their feelings.
Journey: 9.5/10 ⭐️ Tbh, I thought this could have been overly scripted especially in the first episodes where it seems the love lines are peaceful but there are times wherein they couldn’t have just made that up. I think I enjoyed this better than HS4 (which I’m live watching when this was released).
Endgame: 10/10 ⭐️ Satisfying end game couples! Some may argue with me with the main couple formed here but I probably would pick the other guy if it were me. But I like that endgame main couple together. It’s a different energy they have together.
-
4. Love Village
Japanese TV Show - 2023, 18 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ Set in the countryside, the cast members cohabitate together in hope of finding their last love. Ofc, time can only tell of the relationships formed were their last but once you have decided to confess your love, you have to ring a bell and wait until the next day for the person you confessed to for their response. If it is reciprocated well, you can leave together, if it isn't, you'll have to leave that place alone and the other can stay there.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9.5/10 ⭐️ The cast's age range is different from other shows, stretching from mid30s to 60s. Although there were times a member felt left out, the production seemed to have tried balancing out their romantic chances. The chemistry even with those in the later ages are really good! The vibe of the community is peaceful but there's this episode of confrontation but was solved eventually.
Journey: 10/10 ⭐️ As an avid watcher of dating shows, this dating show had more vulnerability and more grounded in the reality of finding their partner in life. The production used animation to narrate their life stories and it brings the audience to understand every cast member (but I don't think they did this to everyone, the last two participants who joined didn't have such.) It is easy to say that this person deserves better for someone but them sharing about their life and how they can make it work is just so beautiful.
Endgame: 9.5/10 ⭐️ All the couples felt right to me somehow but the 2nd & 3rd reciprocated confession is worded beautifully. I am wishing the best for all the couples formed and I cannot say anything more because I might spoil a thing.
-
5. His Man Season 2
Korean TV Show - 2023, 14 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ There is not much difference in the show's concept than the previous season. It's a dating show with no MC panel which is good in my opinion.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9.5/10 ⭐️Many people comment on how the visuals upgraded this season but I would say the one who casted the guys involved in the love triangle did a very good job in engaging us viewers. All participants are precious in their own way, but many had grown to dislike one or two specific members.
Journey: 10/10 ⭐️ The story of the main love triangle is wrapped nicely so it was really pleasant. As mentioned most of the cast have unique personalities that made it more fun to watch. Comparing this from the other season, this has more “romance” than friendship going on and they seem to be there for looking for a partner and not just looking for an exposure for instant fame or recognition of their brand (but one did this though).Endgame: 9.5/10 ⭐️ I do not want to spoil endgame couple(s) but I think they deserve each other.

6. Love Catcher 2022
Korean TV Show - 2022, 8 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ This is already the 4th season but Love Catcher sure likes to keep eveverything fresh and with this show set in Bali, it does makes people want to fall in love. My thoughts about this show has been always gray but I think I made my mind that joining the show is really a great opportunity to find love and money, as long as you don't mind being known as a public figure. If you're okay with that publicity , it's best to join with love in mind and if you find that if a person doesn't seem a good match for you, if you ever had a chance to change your identity, do it.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9/10 ⭐️ The visuals of the women did not disappoint and some males too, don't worry. The chemistry building with the supposedly "main couple" is really good and love triangles are really nicely played. As aforementioned, the girls are pretty but they do not lack proactivity so my enthusiasm for every episode never died down.
Journey: 9.5/10 ⭐️ This season and season 2 are the best to watch. The setting, the people nd some twist they had for the show makes this actually better than season 2. There were more people to root in this show too so I guess I am more attached to the cast members here than other previous seasons.
Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ I do not want to spoil anything but I am satisfied but the rumors about a cast member really disappointed me. It is minor that it won't affect your viewing pleasure but knowing those rumors made me stop rooting for that person because of his/her true identity.

7. The Boyfriend
Japanese TV Show - 2024, 10 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ Although the Green House, their house gave vacation vibes, this show meshed daily life and dating balancing the deliberateness of a show and the 'natural' way of falling in love. The panel has interesting personalities and I love their addition to the fun of the show.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 8.5/10 ⭐️ The participants were sincere throughout the show and individually, they have really pleasant personalities (although this may not be easily seen at first). To admit, I may have also been judgemental at first but I came to like everyone. For the chemistry, there is, not just to the couple(s) but I like the atmosphere they created in the house.
Journey: 9/10 ⭐️ Tbh, I find most of the episodes a bit mundane but when they have these conversations, I can't help but be amazed at how mature they (well, the most) convey their feelings and thoughts to the other person. I also felt a roller coaster of love-hate relationships with particular members and realized the flawed nature of a human in a reality show. I have this history of just not liking particular cast members but here I kinda appreciate the totality of a person and understand where they come from. So, from now on, I'll stop labeling people as red flags because we are all imperfect, just all trying our best.
Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ Aside from the endgame itself, I want to commend this show on how they end the show by either leaving alone or with your person. It feels natural especially the two people remaining when others had already left. It feels like a drama but it gave you a sense of lightness.

8. Love Catcher 2
Korean TV Show - 2019, 8 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ As a dating show enthusiast, the show concept is a double-edge sword for me. For the cons, for a love catcher, finding love could be hard to find considering when you are surrounded with money catchers. It takes a leap of faith & true connection for a love catcher to have a good match. On the other hand, in contrast to usual dating shows wherein the end couples become predictable and can grow stale and the production could easily make drama to make it more entertaining, I find this show more exhilarating because of the possible outcomes it could offer in the end.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 8/10 ⭐️ The production have picked quite a good number of participants to make the show more enjoyable to watch. Some may dislike one person or more but they really made the show quite fun. The atmosphere is not like the usual *friendship* among same genders but it seems like after the show, they made good friendships. I have a favorite male member & he definitely gave the most heart-fluttering moments in the show.
Journey: 9/10 ⭐️ Among the first 3 seasons of Love Catcher, IMO, this is the best. The journey was some what more organic & had more hope in making connections. I do not particularly like the "female MC" the show wanted, but following her loveline is worth watching.
Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ I like the 90% outcome & 10% is for the frustration to one couple. It is satisfying especially knowing how they are right now, with friendship & love, but brace yourself for heartbreaks for the show's ending.
-
9. Possessed Love
Korean TV Show - 2024, 6 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 9/10 ⭐️ As someone who does not believe in shamanism, this show's concept is interesting but could sometimes be a bit eerie and sometimes a little dubious. It is unique that their occupation played a great role in choosing their 'fated' partner. After choosing their fated partner without even meeting them in person, during the show, will they follow their heart or their fate?
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 8.5/10 ⭐️ I do think that the cast as housemates has little chemistry relative to some dating shows (like Live & Love) but I do think the couples have it.
Journey: 8.5/10 ⭐️ The journey is so drama-like. The concept played a part in this, that's why I'm a little dubious of whatever the ending will be. However, I can not deny some unprecedented events that happened that cannot be scripted. Also, this show is 6 episodes. There are lots of unaired footage on YouTube that could have been included in the broadcast, but no, 6 episodes it is, and also aside from the trite remarks of the panel, the PPLs were not so discrete.
Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ I would like to say more about the endgame couple(s) however, I think I'll be spoiling stuff. Anyway, there is at least one and the show didn't imply the status, like whether they are still dating or not, to my disappointment.
-
10. Shi Jun Li Di De Wo Men
Chinese TV Show - 2024, 20 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 8/10 ⭐️ The show's concept is similar to Single's Inferno with a mix of survival show. The setting of a 'deserted island', the reveal of age and occupation in the 'paradise' (although it isn't an exclusive hotel, more like a reward for winning games. The survivor part would be voting on the first few days which is like a popularity contest. It doesn't sit well with me since luck also plays a part here. There were potential couples that could have been paired and members who could have been part of the show but due to this "survival" element, it is just disappointing
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 9/10 ⭐️ Since this show is so similar to Single's Inferno, the chemistry for this show is good, among couples and members. It was hard to achieve especially in the first few episodes but the budding friendship is already on the surface which I enjoyed.
Journey: 8.5/10 ⭐️ The journey is not bad but not good. I think, as time went on, I became solely interested in just 1-2 couples but not so interested in others. The show also included extras and even reactions from people IDK, but decided to skip that since the show itself was already long already. It does not help as well that the English subs on YouTube and WeTV is not very good.
Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ The endgames are satisfactory and knowing the journey of the couples coupling up in the show reflects the longevity of their relationship IRL.
-
11. His Man Season 3
Korean TV Show - 2024, 14 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 8.5/10 ⭐️ This season 3 had pretty much the same structure as the previous seasons, but it stored some surprise privileges that made a little impact in the coupling up among the members.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 8.5/10 ⭐️ With how emotional the cast members leaving the house, it almost seemed like they weren't going to see outside the house. It's either they'll miss their companionship inside the house or they just won't contact each other that much. Also, unlike most reality shows I've watched, I found myself liking people only by the last episodes but I have come to appreciate everyone. The person who thought it was a good idea to put particular members in the show together is just cruel, esp. to a specific person.
Journey: 8/10 ⭐️ This rating could have been higher if not for the last episode. Watching this with The Boyfriend, as I mentioned in my review, I've learned not to label people as red flags and accepted that people are flawed and a work in progress. I was able to immerse myself in the shoes of most contestants. This also made me realize that relationships don't always turn out the way we want to, especially as a spectator.
Endgame: 8,5/10 ⭐️ Expect something new about the last episode. To give you an idea, that it seems like a spoiler but this show didn't leave me so much questions about the endgame couple but since there was a reaction video (1, 2) of the casts, I feel satisfied with how things work out.

13. Single’s Inferno Season 3
Korean TV Show - 2023, 11 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Journey: 9/10 ⭐️ I'll say this is much better season than 1 &2 in terms of entertainment, participants' immersion in the show (sadly most join for fame), plot twists, & I hate to admit, that one indecisive member making the show suspenseful.
Show Design: 9/10 ⭐️ It has improved. It was more challenging & hoping next season has more twists.
Cast & Atmosphere: 9.5/10 ⭐️ Most of the cast really has their own personality & people are making impersonations of them in socmed. It makes watching the show more engaging. Opposite-sex friendships seems tighter which is usually shown less in most dating shows thus I appreciate the bond from this cast. I definitely have favorites.
Couple Chemistry: 8/10 ⭐ I did not feel chemistry from most of the couples except for 2 pairs. One couple had amazing chemistry that you may see in a movie like enemies to lovers trope (not all like their screentime, but love their banter), & another couple which was like a kdrama in meloromance genre, many people ship them. I tell you they do not talk much in the start but their change of gazes makes my heart flutter.
Endgame: 8/10 ⭐️ My guess for the endgame couple(s) before the last 2 episodes are completely wrong. Tbh, I do not ship my endgame couple(s) but mostly because of some information from Instagram and their closeness in the Netflix party. The ending is a bit satisfying but I hoped for a better ending.

14. Man's Romance
Korean TV Show - 2022, 11 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Journey: 9/10 ⭐️Since this is the first gay dating show in Korea that I know, I am enamored by the concept of the show. I like the friendship formed here and especially like their conversations about themselves as part of the LGBTQ. By the end, it was a bit predictable in a way but I would really want to see the end.
Show Design: 9/10 ⭐️ Most nights end with a phone call. This enables the participants to say verbally what they want to say to the person they choose. I find this awkward especially at the first few nights but it could be a good way of expressing interest to the person they like. They also had handwritten letters in the later part of the show. I just wished they have all written that one sincerely.
Cast & Atmosphere: 10/10 ⭐️ Individually most members are very likable but I think they do not match with anyone in the house. It's so easy to root for them but I find myself not wanting them to end with the person that they had interest in, like they deserve better. The growing friendship among some members were sometimes more interesting to watch.
Couple Chemistry: 7/10 ⭐Chemistry-wise, I do not really had MAJOR heart fluttering moments. Some members were obvious that they do not reciprocate other's interest,
Endgame: 7/10 ⭐️ I do not dwell much on the end game because my ships have sunk and when I was able to jump on the ship that had sailed, reality suck. In the end of the day, this is a show, and just a small microcosm of the real world.

-
16. Transit Love 2
Korean TV Show - 2022, 20 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
The MDL rating for this is a rollercoaster mainly because I had dropped this after my favorite participant dropped out of the show. But, after knoing there is a new participant added, I picked it up (to the ep. when that participant joined) and I am enamored by her and her ex, she became my favorite dating show female participant.
Although this show have my favorite participant, I cannot give it a 10 since I had dropped this and didn't watch other episodes without her. Although her entrance is quite a fateful encounter, I still give it a relatively low score, but still in the high score range.
-
17. Single’s Inferno Season 2
Korean TV Show - 2022, 10 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept & Design: 7/10 ⭐️ I personally not very fond of how staying in Paradise as a reward and form of a date, but it's just what the show is.
Cast & Couples Chemistry: 8/10 ⭐️ The cast is impressive in their own right but SI definitely have formed some archetypes in their participants. You may see parallels from season 1. Despite that, I feel more attached to most of them emotionally. Aside from chemistry from romance, this season seems to have formed nice friendships too.
Journey & Endgame: 9/10 ⭐️ This season has made the journey worth watching. Almost every person who has been part of the love triangle seems to have a proper conversation with the person. It could be just the editing but this one never avoided the feelings of people who is interested in them and with just that in my book is a mature way of dealing things. I would say parts of the endgame is unexpected but it could be interpreted as realistic or scripted. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this show.

19. Pet Me Pick Me
Korean TV Show - 2022, 4 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
This is such a short but fluffy show. The cast here is basically the female participants, their dogs and the male participants. For a 4 episode show, this one actually brings a lot of romance, friendships, and cute moments with the pets. As someone who likes watching dating shows, the aspect of bringing their pets definitely made getting closer to a potential partner much easier. For the panel, I really like their comments especially Hanae's. The cast are mostly likeable. The 'rivals' never involved a pissing contest or something similar but I really like that cute atmosphere until the end.
-
20. Love After Divorce Season 4
Korean TV Show - 2023, 14 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Journey: 7/10 ⭐️ This is my first time watching a season from this show. If it weren't available in Netflix, I probably wouldn't have watched it. My interest in the show kinda decreased as time went by but I persisted in watching this show, probably from boredom and no interesting shows were airing,
Show Design: 9/10 ⭐️ I find the show design a bit kinda old but realistic which is good because it doesn't just end with them choosing each other but there are also like 'epilogues' but in full episodes of them being a couple and how they adjust to real life, you know with the kids and their location. The meeting of the parents is refreshing to see, the change of dynamics outside the "common house" and also how they fit in the family, with the ex-spouses, children, and just real life.
Cast & Atmosphere: 7/10 ⭐️ The cast are divorced singles as the title suggests and individually they are really amazing in their jobs. It might be just because I am still not in their age range, but I find the atmosphere of this group not as fun as other dating show cast that I think of. I think they are close, as I have seen a reunion of them on Youtube (sadly not subbed in English and the video reacting to is not shown).
Couple Chemistry & Endgame: 7/10 ⭐️ End game was as I expected, but confirming them is the drive that kept me watching the show.

21. Love Is Blind: Japan
Japanese TV Show - 2022, 11 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept & Design: 8/10 ⭐️ With such an intriguing concept, I would say I am initially invested. However, I am personally opposed to hurried marriages. For a dating show whose end goal is marriage, I doubted that there'll be a couple who'll have a successful connection or even have a long lasting relationship. The time spent by the couples here compared to common dating shows are relatively longer, 10 days to know their partners blindly then after proposal, 3 weeks of living together, but for a dating show whose end goal is marriage, it's really short.
Journey: 8/10 ⭐️ In the first few episodes, I find it tedious to remember all the participants' names. Usually, dating shows have 4 males & 4 females, but here the starting participants are quite a lot. Surprisingly, there were a number of couple who get engaged and even that was too many to track and follow how their connection run deep. As the episode progresses, some couples broke their engagement and I begin to really like the endgame couple(s).
Cast & Couple Chemistry & Endgame: 8/10 ⭐I wouldn't say that the engaged couple's chemistry is ground-breaking. The "blind" experiment definitely played a part in this and most are probably still highly expectant of their fiance's looks. But, I think the cast are well-thought by the production team and the story of the endgame couple(s) could easily be a plot of a drama. The current state of the end couple(s) feeds my hopeless romantic & the dating show enthusiast heart.

23. Heart Signal Season 4
Korean TV Show - 2023, 15 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept: 6/10 ⭐️ Since this is my first time live watching Heart Signal, I was really excited for this, however I think this season focused too much on the Couple Guessing Game that it detracted to the essence of the show, which is dating. The editing made me not cheer for the final couple/s formed.
Cast & Couple Chemistry: 7/10 ⭐️ I'm 50-50 on this because if you want to know if every member is individually interesting, I would definitely say yes. Most were proactive in following with the one they like BUT if we are talking about the combination of members, I think this was oe of the problem of this show. The casting should have cared about the possibility of couples formed like asking extensively on their ideal type and dating style.
Journey: 8/10 ⭐️ As an avid watcher of dating shows, this is one of the exhausting dating shows to watch but I can't stop watching until the end. The stress it gave me is just mentally draining and I wouldn't recommend it to a first time watcher. I watched this with the Commentary Show so you can say how involved I was in this but I felt drawn to the deemed female main character of the show.
Endgame: 6/10 ⭐️ As mentioned, the editing of the show made it impossible for me to root for the endgame couple(s). It made me feel that the selection was done impulsively because the interest was unrequited but I hope I'm wrong because it seems they are still dating when I finished watching the last episode.

24. Pink Lie
Korean TV Show - 2022, 12 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
Show Concept & Design: 9/10 ⭐️ All of us have our own prejudices and even have things that could be a deal breaker for others and this could be a good test to check whether our preferences can bend and our prejudices break in face of the person we are starting to like. This is similar with Secret Men & Women but with higher budget. And I think I like this better in that everyone has the chance to know the lie and I think everyone's potential partners were explored.
Cast & Atmosphere: 7/10 ⭐️ I think the casting could have been better. It is just unfair to join people with the biggest secrets to something trivial and I mean it has no way of hindering of a potential relationship. I only like actually how one of the endgame couple(s) was casted, we may have known early on that it really may hinder their relationship.
Journey & Endgame: 8/10 ⭐️ The main plot that the production is pushing for and the recurring love triangle is the worst part, infuriating. It has it's good parts too though and it was nicely wrapped in the end so it is satisfactory, but I felt I wasted my time saying around for that story.

Love the male friend group and how this dating show put some dents on their friendship. But it isn't that bad. I like the journey of one of the end couples here. 28. Love Me Actually
Korean TV Show - 2019, 20 episodes
AIRED & SUBBED
A "dating club" featuring actors, comedians, an idol and models. (One of them is Kim Mingue who is more known for his drama, A Business Proposal.) This seems like Creator Campus but with the comedians involved, it feels more like a variety show sometimes. When it was airing, there was someone which is involved in DUI scandal with a real-life partner and that person's parts were edited and it kinda disrupt the viewing because it was so obvious. It was quite enjoyable actually and I even had made fun videos like a Mean Girls trailer parody and some music videos when it was airing.

I ended up dropping this. This rooted with rumors about the cast and since I already kow the end game, it wasn't the case but I am trying to find the time to continue watching it but I am not leaning over such possibility these days because I am already watching My Sibling's Romance which is much much better.
