My Least Favorite BLs

I saw this has an average rating of 7.1, but that's a no from me. This is my least favorite BL. I felt no chemistry between Earth and New, and I did not enjoy their story whatsoever, especially starting with the nonconsensual first encounter. Ridiculous things like people almost drowning in 3 feet of water multiple times, a lesbian character until she decides she doesn't want to be anymore? The teacher/coach relationship with the student? Yuck. Also for a BL this gave a lot of time to the hetero storylines. The only thing I enjoyed was the Kluay/Achi storyline, which we got basically none of. Yeah, I did not enjoy this one. 

My god, when the Philippines get it wrong boy do they get it WRONG. Going into it I knew I wasn't going to be the biggest fan because I personally enjoyed My Day and the Aki/Miko ship. In this one they paired Aki with a man made of stone. Two of the major things that stuck out the most to me was the scene with the women approaching them in the restaurant, who clearly wasn't an actress, who had maybe 2 or 3 lines, got them WRONG, and they still aired it like that! Y'all didn't want to give her a couple more tries to get it right? The other was Ethon and Dane's disagreement in a different restaurant where Ethon says some variation of "Dane stop, dane don't, please dane" about 460 times never once trying to move her outside of the restaurant.To top it all off, the two leads don't even end up together. Smh. 

Probably the most boring BL I've ever seen. 11 episodes, 50 minutes long, and somehow literally nothing managed to happen. I really don't have much to say other than that. Just so, so boring. 

I mean come on, two nonconsensual sex scenes? For both the lead and secondary couple? I guess that's 2016 for you, I don't know what to say about that. Plan's relationship with the mom character who ends up being his mom in Love by Chance? Weird. Frame/Book aren't a terrible storyline but they don't really pick up speed until the second season and like I said, their first sexual encounter being played out like that. I think it's just product of its time idk. Also the bts tea of Toey being just overall a bad person doesn't help. 

Low budget, boring story, nothing happening, just like a lot on this list. The main problem with this one was that they took 6 months to air only 6 episodes. Not necessarily the dramas fault I guess, but it did suffer for it. 

What a mess. Started out fairly promising I thought, I enjoyed the first 5-6 episodes but then damn it tanked and it tanked hard. At one point it just became the same episode over and over again. They're together, there's a small misunderstanding, they fight, Sher would hit Fah and then run away. The same story for each episode for like 6 episodes straight! I found myself yelling at the screen multiple times. I'm not mad I watched it, but I'm mad it was so many episodes. 

Part 1 wasn't great either, but it was better than this mess. Restarting the time line, the first episode basically just being a recap of part 1. Cheating, but he was being blackmailed and that's why he was doing it? Idk never explained. Nont's entire character, they did him dirty every single episode. Major fights being caused by miscommunications over nothing problems, a huge problem for a lot BLs but especially this one. Also how it ended? I don't even know bro. 

I'll start by saying I forgot there was 2 different versions. I watched the YouTube version which I guess was significantly cut down from the other version. So maybe that was a part of the issue. Even so, I still didn't love the attempted rape, and the relationship between the leads was just straight up toxic. If I remember correctly the older one strikes the younger one and they just play that off. On top of all that, also just boring. 

Super boring, confusing plot, nothing happening. Simple enough. 

Main characters weren't likable, bad acting, weird storylines. The worst part? Around episode like 8-9 I was like "okay you know what maybe this isn't terrible" but then it kept going and it was still that horrible. 

I commented this on the page before, but it's one thing to be just plain bad or boring but this drama had me literally yelling at my screen over some of the stuff that happened. It just made NO. SENSE. So many things happening and all of it making no sense. I'm genuinely curious what the writers were thinking with some of this. Like did they watch these scenes back and thought "yep, perfect. love it." Praew one of the worst characters in BL history. People said they thought Boat was comedic relief but I just found him annoying. The Ice/Tee (haha like iced tea) came out of nowhere. Also, Tee in general wtf is wrong with you. Daonuea tells you multiple times he doesn't want to be in a relationship and then when it seems like you finally get it, you don't, and you force yourself on him as he sobs?? Like wtf! It's not lower because the the special episodes and I did actually think Nine/Daonuea had pretty decent chemistry. 

Nothing much to say about this one, just incredibly boring. It was quite the chore to get through but I committed. For what reason? I'm honestly not sure. 

This didn't even feel like a series. Legit every episode felt like a rough draft of something. Episodes were like 45 minutes long and somehow I don't remember anything happening in them. So many characters and most of them unlikable and unnecessary. Heavy focus on a hetero storyline. I wish Gameplay could get a better project. Also whoever was in charge of the sound effects needs to go to jail. 

Now look, this is probably going to be incredibly controversial to some people but I'm sorry it has to be said, I just really did not like it! Khai was INSANELY dislikable for basically 90% of the story, Third constantly crying over that terrible fuckboy. Side characters weren't likable and also had bad romantic subplots. This was the third BL I ever saw so maybe I should go back and give it a chance sometime but nah I really don't want to do that. I will say, the train station scene was actually very good. I cried at that. The only glimmer of hope in the entire series, to me at least. Don't hate me I'm sorry! 

It really did start out okay, I was rooting for it in the beginning but it just never picked up speed. In fact it actively slowed down. The last few episodes truly tanked it, I don't know if there was an issue with covid on set or what, but the last like 3 episodes (I think) were just single characters, in single scenes for like 45 minutes. Possibly not the shows fault but just like Calculating Love, it did cause it to suffer. 

This is in the same vein as Check Out. Characters making such obscene choices that I found myself yelling at my screen several times. PlernPleng another awful BL character (but I think that means the actor is doing their job well I guess). Poor little Farm couldn't catch a break. Love MaxTul but this just wasn't it. I still haven't watched the second season.
