Dropped Shows
All my dropped dramas/movies ordered by dropping date.
I haven't dropped all of them because I hated them...sometimes I just lost interest or got distracted by either another show or life in general...and then I never picked some of these back up.
-
1. Coffee Prince
Korean Drama - 2007, 17 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 13/17
I loved the beginning...but after episode 10 or so it became sort of boring.
Dropped: late 2018 -
2. Gu Family Book
Korean Drama - 2013, 24 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 20/24
Liked the beginning and I found it intriguing enough till the last third of the drama. I spoiled myself the ending and it sucked so much (the epilogue is simply cringeworthy) that I just couldn't even finish it.
After a while I changed my rating from 5 to 3...thinking back I think the tones in this were kind of a mess...it was disturbingly violent at times (with implicit rape and straighforward murder) then went to comical. I'm not entirely sure who this should be aimed at, since it's too violent for younger viewes and too inconsistent for mature ones. It seemed like two different dramas were put together.
Dropped: late 2018 -
3. Rich Man, Poor Woman
Japanese Drama - 2012, 11 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/11
I can't seem to connect with any of the characters.
Dropped: early 2019 -
4. My Secret Romance
Korean Drama - 2017, 13 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 7/13
It's fun and easy to watch if you're in the mood for silly romance, but that's about it.
Logic here flies out of the window.Dropped: early 2019
-
5. Personal Taste
Korean Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 11/16
Can't bring myself to pick this back up...but I liked it...till I didn't like it anylonger.
Dropped: early 2019 -
6. Noble, My Love
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES:14/20
It's silly, I liked it while I watched it, but got bored and can't feel the need to pick it up again.
Dropped: early 2019
-
7. Wat is er aan de hand met secretaresse Kim?
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 2/16
I found it really boring even if there are brief moments of humor.
I can't see where all the hype for this came from beside the fact that the production is overall good and the leads are definitely good looking.
Dropped: early 2019 -
8. I Hate You Juliet
Korean Drama - 2019, 18 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/18
It's light and quite unoffensive. This is the kindest comment I can give.
I found it not really worth my time even if it's short.
Dropped: March 2019 -
9. Pinocchio
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 0.5/20
Maybe someday I'll change my mind and give this drama a full chance...for now...I've tried starting it a couple of times and...MEH, I can't even get to finish the first episode.
I wanted to like this because it's from the same writer&director (+ some of the cast) of I Hear Your Voice, which I absolutely adored! But...the more I watch scenes from the drama and the more I read about the plot and the least I'm interested in it.I'm afraid Lee Jong Suk isn't as versatile as I hoped. After I Hear Your Voice as Park So Ah (a role that seemed tailored for him) I honestly cannot like him very much in other dramas. It might be my fault, but I can't feel much depth from him. I hope he'll prove me wrong after his military service.
Dropped: spring 2019
-
10. My Lovely Sam Soon
Korean Drama - 2005, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 12/16
It's a classic and I can see why, but it's not my taste and I don't think that's because it's outdated.
I'm not entirely sure if it's the actor's fault or if it's the roles he gets. I hate him with a passion in Secret Garden as well.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
11. Jimi ni Sugoi! Koetsu Garu Kono Etsuko
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/10
Couldn't get invested in the first episode and I found the FL very unlikeable.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
12. Otona Joshi
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/10
Not my cup of tea.
I'm thinking I just do not like the main actress...it's her third drama I drop one episode in...
Dropped: spring 2019 -
13. Daisy Luck
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/10
Not sure about this one. The first episode was ok-ish, but not very compelling.
After a couple of months...well I can't even remember what happened in that first episode. This is definitely dropped.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
14. Encounter
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 7/16
It looks great and the OST is amazing...but...I can't get much invested in their romance. I like the heroine well enough, but while the male lead is perfect...he's just TOO perfect to the point that he doesn't seem real at all. Episode 1 was great all by itself, though.
I might pick up the show again, because the cinematography is very good and the pace is relaxing, but...unless they give a little more depth to Park Bo Gum's character so that he doesn't always do and say the perfect thing, I doubt I'll get much invested in their love story. I actually am more curious about the secondary ones.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
15. Bijo to Danshi
Japanese Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/20
Sounded like my cup of tea, but I wasn't a fan of the first episode and I found myself not rooting for any of the characters.
I might pick it up again. but I'm not sure about it.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
16. King2Hearts
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 3/20
Can't get attached to these characters.
It was hilarious at points, but seriously, I can't follow the logic of the show at all even if I try to consider it as surreal.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
17. Protect the Boss
Korean Drama - 2011, 18 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/18
Can't bring myself to continue. I do recognize the potential but I'm not liking the FL's acting in this drama and not even Ji Sung is managing to save this for me.
I'll try maybe in the future...
Dropped: spring 2019 -
18. Heartbreak Library
Korean Movie - 2008
WATCHED till : about 20min in
I'm simply bored to tears.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
19. Takumi-kun Series 1: And The Spring Breeze Whispers
Japanese Movie - 2007
WATCHED TILL: about 10 min in
I hold on just for a few minutes...can't bring myself to watch anymore, I probably am just not liking the directing and nothing else really is proving to be compelling enough to hold my interest.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
20. Suki na Hito ga Iru Koto
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/10
FL is a tad too overly cutesy for my taste, but I'm liking the fact that she's at least competent in her job and, while clumsy, not a complete disaster wherever she goes as it usually portrayed with this type of heroines.
The story though is kinda slow and not unique enough to make me want to continue.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
21. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/16
I was already doubtful about starting this drama since the plot didn't really interest me enough, and several reviews gave me an ominous feeling.
The first episode just reinforced this idea. It does look nice...but it feels empty.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
22. Who Are You
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 11/16
It never really managed to keep me invested...but it's a pity because I really like the premise. The acting is a little bit stiff from the two main characters, but not in a too bothersome way.
Maybe I'll pick it up again someday to see how it ends.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
23. Last Cinderella
Japanese Drama - 2013, 11 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/11
Nope, I definitely hate pretty much all the characters in here.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
24. Oh My Venus
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 5/16
I just can't understand the characters and their behaviour therefore I end up not really liking or being invested in anyone.
The story as well doesn't seem to me as it holds much depth.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
25. High Society
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 3/16
The male lead is an asshole, but I guess he was supposed to be that type of character. What's weird is that I'm finding the female lead particularly unlikeable as well...she's an hypocrite.
So, none of the two leads resonates with me and while the second couple is kinda cute, they aren't enough to keep my interest.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
26. Prince of Wolf
Taiwanese Drama - 2016, 18 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/18
This is so cringy it's funny! It definitely breaks your suspension of disbelief a thousand times over, but it still has heart and I might have kept watching it.
The issue is that from comments/reviews the story will go into misunderstandings territory. I wouldn't mind that in a story well-written, but this is not the case. Misunderstandings in a poor script just make me break out in hives...so I'll just drop this now.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
27. Father, I’ll Take Care of You
Korean Drama - 2016, 50 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 2/50
It feels too long...and I'm only at episode 2.
I might pick it up again since I didn't really even watch it enough to have an opinion on it, but I'm kinda doubtful.
Dropped: spring 2019 -
28. Lucky Romance
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 9/16
Loved the premise, loved the hero, but the heroine is so...stupid? I don't know, I generally like Hwang Jung Eum as an actress even if she can be shrilly, but here her character is sort of unredeemable even with her performance. The writing makes her character act like a lunatic with no rational thinking.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
29. Bromance
Taiwanese Drama - 2015, 18 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/18
I loved the fact that the heroine does indeed look like a guy!
I think it's the first cross-dressing heroine that's actually believable in her male role.
Still, the first episode didn't capture my heart.
I might give it another try someday though.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
30. Secret Garden
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 9/20
Watched it halfway and then 'finished' it by reading recaps just because I needed to understand what everyone sees in this drama...I failed.
This show makes no frigging sense. The two main characters are both deeply unlikeable. I might have hold on for the Oska/Seul couple and Tae Sun side story, but there was too little of it to make it worth the pain.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
31. That Winter, The Wind Blows
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/16
It does look beautiful and the acting is great, but I couldn't feel invested in the plot.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
32. My Fair Lady
Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 3/16
The story didn't pull me in, even if a couple of moments were kinda cute.
Watching a few clips from later episodes, I couldn't see anything worth looking forward, so I don't feel like watching a show that it's meh at best.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
33. Jealousy Incarnate
Korean Drama - 2016, 24 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/24
I watched till about 26min into the second episode but I couldn't get invested in the show, even if it holds some promise.
I might eventually pick it up again even if I'm not sure.
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
34. Nobunaga Concerto
Japanese Drama - 2014, 11 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/11
It was interesting, but boring at the same time...
Dropped: spring/summer 2019 -
35. Loving, Never Forgetting
Chinese Drama - 2014, 34 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 3/34
Mah, I didn't completely dislike this, but after 3 episodes I find myself skipping through most scenes with the bare minimum interest. I just can't get invested and the story seems to flow in a completely unrealistic manner...and yea, dramas aren't supposed to be realistic, but I need to believe that this MIGHT actually happen given the very unrealistic circumstances.
In here the choices and the flow of events are simply way too disconnected from how things work in reality.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
36. Okitegami Kyoko no Biboroku
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 5/10
I suppose it's good for what it is, it's just not the thing I'm looking for.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
37. Drinking Solo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 12/16
I didn't like the main male character... Not even once his motivations for being such a jerk were partly rationalised.
This must be the first time I really wanted the second lead to get the girl.
Still the show was well done and well acted. It told the story it wanted to tell pretty well, I just found myself not liking it much 3/4 into it, and reading the recaps of the last 4 episodes has only confirmed my feelings on the matter.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
38. Great Inheritance
Korean Drama - 2006, 17 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/17
It does seem decently funny even if far away from being great, but I can't find any good streaming service for this and the video quality is so bad that I don't feel like continuing.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
39. Waking Love Up
Chinese Drama - 2011, 40 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/40
BORING. I can't even make an opinion beside that adjective...
Dropped: summer 2019 -
40. Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/10
I didn't find it compelling enough. The story might be cute but while the characters weren't too annoying I couldn't find them endearing either.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
41. Whisper
Korean Drama - 2017, 17 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/17
Watched the first episode and read recaps till the third.
Too dark and too much corruption for my taste.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
42. Devilish Joy
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/16
I wanted to like this drama. I like the actors, it looks nice and the music is pleasant.
This romance, though, is way over the top and without making fun of itself.
I don't mind the 'rich wounded hero meets down her luck poor heroine' trope, but in this drama it's so overblown. It's just ridiculous, yet not funny at the same time.
Pity...
Dropped: summer 2019 -
43. Seducing Mr. Perfect
Korean Movie - 2006
WATCHED TILL: about 50min in
Nothing great. It's a mediocre movie and I gave it up a 3/4 in.
I skipped a lot of scenes because I couldn't stand the second-hand embarassement I felt for the FL. Overall though she was pretty likeable and the ML did a decent job considering he doesn't speak any korean and therefore the whole movie is in double language.
Dropped: summer 2019
-
44. Hotel King
Korean Drama - 2014, 32 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 10/32
A true makjang, which is not a bad thing as I do sometimes love those.
It started well, but the romance is not developed enough. We're already at the point when they love each other to no end, but it really doesn't feel earned at all.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
45. Myung Wol the Spy
Korean Drama - 2011, 18 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/18
The only thing I remember from the first episode is that I didn't like it...
Dropped: summer 2019 -
46. Call of the Country
Korean Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 0.5/16
Dropped halfway through the first episode. Acting is strained and the characters do not make much sense at all.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
47. Ms. Temper & Nam Jung Gi
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 2/16
Not my cup of tea, but I recognise there is some potential.
Dropped: summer 2019 -
48. Queen In Hyun's Man
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 8/16
I sort of lost interest in the middle. The drama was beautiful to watch at and the performances well-done, but I found the plot turn in the middle of the show to be huge hurdle to accept.
I do not exclude I might pick this back up someday though.
Dropped: summer 2019
-
49. Radio Romance
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 7/16
I liked the start, but I lost interest in the middle.
The story was cute and the characters generally likeable, but I found them somewhat meh after a while.
Dropped: summer 2019 (read recaps till episode 10) -
50. I Need Romance 3
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 2/16
I usually like noona romances, but this is somehow not up my alley.
I hate the FL (which is fine considering the plot of the story) but I'm not really liking the ML either.
I read recaps till episode 5 and things do not seem to get any better or more interesting.Dropped: August 2019
-
51. Loving You a Thousand Times
Korean Drama - 2009, 55 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/55
Too melodramatic and the acting doesn't seem to be on point.
Dropped: September 2019 -
52. City Hall
Korean Drama - 2009, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/20
First episode was meh.
Pity, I like the cast and the concept seemed fun.Maybe I just wasn't feeling it. I might pick this up again and give it a more serious try.
Dropped: September 2019 -
53. Ugly Alert
Korean Drama - 2013, 133 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 79/133
This drama was a weird and subtle addiction. It bored me yet I wanted to watch it....but I came to the point of really wanted to watch a slightly more eventful family drama (Still Loving You aka Dazzling Silver) so I dropped it at episode 79.
The characters are great and I really loved most of them, in particular the female characters were well-rounded and I ended up liking, admiring or at the very least symphatizing with all of them.
What I didn't like was the fact that half of this show time could have been cut by just making the scenes more concise...some of them lasted so long I could fastforward minutes without losing a line of dialogue. I also hated the editing which I found jarring and confusing at time, with the slow motion and music being arranged in a way that was sometimes way too cheesy or unwarranted.
I'm not sure if I'll ever pick it up again. Mostly because the plots never really seem to go anywhere in a short amount of time. It's realistic, sure, but it gets kinda draggy.
Dropped: 08/09/2019 -
54. Glorious Day
Korean Drama - 2014, 44 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 31/44
It wasn't completely bad, but I've sort of lost interest in the story.
The mother-in-law was totally unlikeable and many other characters weren't my cup of tea either. Still, the main couple was cute, but not enough to hold on my interest any longer.
Dropped: September 2019 -
55. Radiant Office
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 12/16
Nice drama but I'm not loving it.
I found some characters reactions to be a bit unrealistic or at least uninteresting to me which made me drop the show.
On the whole the drama was nice, though, it explores good themes and avoids falling in the classic tropes of k-dramas. The OST was decent enough and there were quite a few nice ballads I'd like to relisten to.
Dropped: 17/09/2019 -
56. Good Doctor
Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 9/20
I was liking it but it stopped getting me interested and I wanted something with romance in it.
I might pick this up again.
Dropped: September 2019 -
57. My Golden Life
Korean Drama - 2017, 52 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 10/52
I'm not totally invested and the reviews are pretty grim. Considering that I'm still in the 'good' part and I'm already hating some of the character developments does not bode well...So I'm dropping it and saving my time!
Dropped: September 2019 -
58. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/16
I recognize it's cute, but I can't seem to care about this story or characters.
I dropped this twice already and I'm only at the fourth episode.
I might try to pick this up again, though.
Dropped:
1 - spring 2019 (at episode 3)
2 - September 2019 (at episode 4) -
59. Suspicious Partner
Korean Drama - 2017, 40 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 16/40
The main couple sure has chemistry and wouldn't surprise me if they were or are actually dating. But even as cute as they are, I got really bored in the story halfway in.
I love most of the actors here, though, and they pulled off a good performance. I was particularly impressed by the villain as I've seen this actor only in supporting positive roles where he usually played lighthearted and goofball characters, but he traslated very well in this creepy dark persona.
Dropped: September 2019 -
60. Woman with a Suitcase
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 11/16
Not bad, but I completely lost interest even if I did like all actors and actresses.
Dropped: September 2019 -
61. Starman - This Star's Love
Japanese Drama - 2013, 10 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 1/10
I love the premise...but I honestly LOATHE the FL. I'm convinced this character was written by someone who has a very low consideration of females.
She's despicable as a mother, a daughter or a woman in general. She takes a man who just lost his memory as her husband by lying to him, without thinking he might have a family waiting for him elsewhere. I could consider this as viable if she was somehow forced by circumstances to preted to have a husband and if she honestly regrets it, but she's just doing it because he's handsome and she wants a man...she's not even really doing it for her children. Com'on!
Also, at the end of the first episode, when the male protagonist saves her little child from being hit by a baseball...well, she doesn't even run to her child to check on him if he somehow got hurt or scared. She just smiles all happy and smug about having found a strong man who managed to protect her child when she was too distracted to look after him.
Dropped: October 2019 -
62. Angel's Revenge
Korean Drama - 2014, 103 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 34/103
I liked the start...but then it went downhill from there.
I honestly couldn't really hate our villain too much...He's a slimy asshole, but not a killer.
I simply couldn't feel enough justification for how our main female character acted. It might be one of the very few instances where a time-jump might have worked wonders, by letting matters fester for longer.
Pity...I really liked our male lead and it was the first time I actually watched him play a likeable character.
Dropped: October 2019 -
63. Mask
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 5/20
It's not bad per se, but I'm finding that the story is not flowing in a logical way and some characters' choices make no damn sense. It might be explained later on...but for now I just can't get into it.
I'm also finding the acting a bit over the top and not in a fun way.
I might try to pick it up again if I'm bored and I can't think of any other show to watch.
Dropped:
1 - early 2019 (at episode 3)
2 - October 2019 (at episode 5) -
64. Left-Handed Wife
Korean Drama - 2019, 103 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 5/103
Well, this is silly.
I could accept the "face-off" scenario, but these two actors look nothing alike...NOTHING at all. Their height is also very different, so it goes way beyond my suspension of disbelief.
Also the main lead actress' take on her character is downright annoying. She acts extremely cutesy and 'young', but her looks do not match such a behavior and the contrast ends up grating on my nerves. Seeing some clips from later on, she seems to be better, but I'm not sure if I'll ever pick this up again unless I'm desperate.
Dropped: October 2019 -
65. Wild Romance
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 5/16
The secondary couple is actually more promising than the main one.
The story wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I got tired of it at just the 5th episode.
Dropped: October 2019 -
66. Ouran High School Host Club
Japanese Drama - 2011, 11 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/11
This is fun at times, but it's also completely ridiculous.
It does capture the feeling of the original manga, though, which is something to be appreciated.
Maybe I'll pick it up again if I feel like watching something like this.
Dropped: October 2019 -
67. Clean With Passion For Now
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 6/16
I will maybe pick this one up again...but there are a couple of things which I found quite bothersome.
One is that the relationship feels forced...the chemistry between the actors is fine, but the way they are developed feels like they are stereotypes more than people.
Second: I simply find it ridiculous that the main pairing keeps meeting each other in the street randomly so f***ing often...okay they are in the same neighborhood...but I do not even meet my very next-door neighbors more than once every couple of weeks and the leads in this drama don't even live in the same street! It feels contrived and downright pulls me away from the suspension of disbelief.
Dropped: October 2019 -
68. Live Up to Your Name
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 8/16
The ML at the beginning is half a jerk, but he's funny enough to be likeable.
On the other hand, the FL is competent, smart and so beautiful she's distracting, but that coupled with her very cold attitude (at least at the beginning) made her completely unrelatable for me.The show is promising, but I'm not sure if I'll even pick this up again a third time.
Dropped:
1 - early 2019 (at episode 1)
2 - October 2019 (at episode 8) -
69. Healer
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
WATCHED EPISODES: 4/20
The fact that it's the same screenwriter of Faith and with better directing and editing should be great by itself, but I'm just not feeling anything.
I recognize why this show has such a huge fan base, but the four episodes I watched felt very flat to me. The most powerful emotions I managed to summon was annoyance and very faint amusement at how cheesy some scenes were. It felt like I was checking a list of basic ingredients for a successful teenage romance story: cold, tough and powerful hero with a mysterious aura, check; heroine with tragic past who is (somehow) oh-so-special, check; hero saves heroine and hides his identity while being by her side, check; forgotten childhood relationship, check...Sometimes this mix can work for me as well, but in here it felt cold and cynical as if these elements were put together deliberately and without much heart.
I have to admit, though, that the show has a solid production, the action scenes do look good (even if they are a bit too 'clean'), the OST sounds nice and the cast does seem to be doing a decent job with the material they have.
In my opinion, though, this is a series that any k-drama fan should try to watch. It wasn't my cup of tea, but I can't deny the appeal it has for a lot of people.Dropped:

It's not bad, especially considering the genre and the original source material. My issue is that, it's still way too cringy...and I'm not talking about the effects (which were decent) and the acting (which was well above average)...but the story itself has some sappy moments which makes me laugh and feel second-hand shame for the actors involved in it.
Still, I may give this a second chance in the future. It was entertaining for what it is...it's just that I do not feel like watching this type of story at the moment.

It's a product of its time. After 15 years the acting in here does seem exaggerated and the situations downright improbable.

20min in and I'm already hating the FL with a passion.
She's stupid, rude and presumptous. And the biggest problem is that I can't even find her funny.
It's more the writing's fault (the girl gets kidnapped after getting drunk with 3 unknown men. She is miracously saved and yet she then insists in following a stranger guy in a forest even when this stranger just keeps asking her politely to leave him alone and go home since he's not human), but her acting isn't helping at all as she is not showing much charm.

It's not bad.
I'm honestly finding the ML quite a bit interesting and his portrayal is on spot. But I don't like the characterization and the acting of the FL. The actress isn't bad per se, but whenever I see her she in a role I end up not really liking her. She gives off that innocent-edging-on-stupid vibe which I do not really appreciate much in a lead role.
I might pick up again though, because I really like the second FL on the other hand.

I fished this out of the Not Interested pile. I initially put it there because of all the comments/reviews saying the ending was unsatisfactory.
I tried watching because I saw some clips on YouTube and the show seemed promising anyway. I watched the first 4 episodes and it does look like quite an original romance story compared to what K-dramas usually offer.
Yet, I do not think there's enough to fuel the story for 16 episodes especially considering they are longer than one hour each...so I watched the last episode and indeed I could pretty much figure out all that came in between.
Pity, the actors were great, the cinematography pleasant and it could have been so much better if just a little bit shorter. I might watch it all one day because it is indeed a realistic love story, but lately I prefer when romance is smaller doses and well-mixed with other genres.

This doesn't really feel like it's my thing. It's partly because of the all 'fated love' kinda theme which I don't generally like and partly because I don't really like the two leads' characters. I don't think it's the actors' fault, but I don't find them compelling or worth being invested in.
I'm rooting more for the second FL with the second ML and we're only at the 2nd episode.

I recognize the production and the OST are great. The acting is overall decent as well. I can see why people complain about the main adult actress, but I didn't find her as bad and some comments lead me to believe.
The story and tone of the story, though, is too melodramatic for my tastes and the plot feels contrived. I had little to no interest in the main couple as I find both main characters to be boring and all secondary ones seem to be doomed to tragedy considering the type of story, so I have no stake into continuing.

It was interesting, but dragged a bit too much for my tastes. Also the characters (while quite realistic) are a bit too negative for my taste. I do love my protagonists to be flawed, yes, but likeable as well.
In here the FL does act coldly and that's understandable considering her circumstances, but I can't figure out why this is still going on when we're halfway in the drama...she barely had any growth at all and she's starting to become annoying to me. The ML doesn't really appeal to me either...I love the actor and he usually can sell me even apparently 'bad' characters but in here he's sort of meh. His motivations are a bit over the place and he seems to misunderstand or to say/not say things out of convenience to the plot.Still, there are things to like in the show and someday I might even try and pick it up again.

82. A Gentleman's Dignity

I thought I would love this drama, but it turned out to be quite disappointing.
There are a few things I do find fascinating, but I cannot stomach the FL's acting...it's something I do not like to say, because FLs do get a lot of undeserved hate, but I just can't help it.
To be more precise I'm finding the female protagonist voice a bit too annoying and childish considering she's potraying a 35-something-year-old. I cannot really sympathize with her. Some of her actions/decisions (and this is the writing's fault and not the actress') don't make her any more endearing to me and I fail to see how a guy is supposed to be actracted to her...beside the fact that she's obviously quite beautiful, of course. Also another thing I'm not liking is how the cheating married friend is potrayed in a jolly, comical way...I don't mind a potrayal of infidelity but in her it's the stereotype of the male playboy husband and the crazy obsessed rich wife. I find it annoying and painful.

83. Zoeken: WWW
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
WATCHED: 5/16
I personally prefer when characters are presented to have normal jobs instead of these top-tier careers since I find it both more relatable and more realistic, but I was happy to see women portrayed in strong power positions in a natural way. Yet, I have quite a few gripes with the show, I came to the conclusion I just don't want to continue it.
1) The ML falls really flat for me. It's the same problem I have with Park Bo Gum's character in Encouter. He feels fake. I had dropped Encounter for that reason even if there I found the FL likeable enough and the production and acting quite outstanding. Here I can't even say that.
2) The main FL wasn't bad (I personally found her 'gray' enough to be interesting), but Scarlett was extreme. She had (very few) moments of vulnerability, but mostly she was extremely aggressive and deeply unapologetic about it. Had it been portrayed as a flaw, it would have been fine, but instead it felt as if the show was celebrating this aspect of her character and going on and on about how strong, genius and great all the FLs were. It felt as if the show was screaming "See how badass these characters are? We're SO progressive!", as if that this is the only way to be a strong woman...and I don't agree in the least.
3) The production isn't bad, but the directing felt sometimes very weird and fake. It felt really staged and not in a good way. It's something very common in k-dramas overall, but here I felt it somewhat bothering.
4) I don't usually mind PPL, but in this drama everyone and their brother drives a Maserati. It's a silly complaint, but I found it bothersome and it was last straw that contributed to me dropping the show. It's a rare (and fucking expensive) car to see around...what are the chances of all the main cast driving it and no one even mentioning a shared passion for fast cars or something?!Dropped 01/02/2020

85. Hello Again!
Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
WATCHED: 4/16
This seems like a cute, light romcom.
I found the two leads to be good actors and some others of the supporting cast were also quite interesting to watch.I have a couple of issues though that prevented me from continue to enjoy the drama...and they are issues I have with most C-dramas.
One is about the dialogue. I found it to be a bit stilted and not very realistic at times. It's not the actors' fault as they are doing a very good job, but I'm simply not buying the lines they are saying...It might be that something gets lost in translation. I have no trouble with Japanese and Korean, but that might be because I'm simply slightly more knowledgeable about their culture.
Another aspect I'm finding a bit troubling is the editing. Some scenes are way too dragged out and we get way too many slow-mos and flashbacks to scenes which have happened less than a few minutes earlier. This makes the (inevitable) cheesy scenes even cheesiest and so embarassing to watch for me that I cannot avoid pushing the ff button just a tiny bit.The theme song is catchy and the breaks with the characters dancing to it were so adorable and endearing! I honestly wanted to keep watching just for those.

Up till now Thai dramas have failed to make me invested...This time the plot seemed promising and the reviews quite positive, but I just can't feel it.
It might be due to the fact that the language is completely unfamiliar and the first 30 mins or so were quite confusing. Korean Drama - 2005, 16 episodes

The female-teacher/male-student trope is one I do usually enjoy if done properly, so that aspect of this drama do not really bother me much.
I actually hoped it would be a version of Gokusen a little bit more focused of the romance and I had some decently high expectation since the cast is actually pretty promising. The drama though, while not horrible, fails at being properly paced in my opinion.
Meaning that we get to see the various characters grow fond of one another but we're not really show much of the reasons why. We're told them, but not shown and especially not in a believable time frame. The two main leads do not really interact properly for the most of the first 3 episodes and then magically the ML comes to care for the FL in the 4. It felt a bit forced and it's a pity because the acting is on point, but I don't think we are shown enough development to make this change of heart happen.Dropped:

I tried to watch this show 3 times. The most recent one I couldn't even get past half of the first episode. Pity, because the cast does look great.
I think I might simply have a prejudice with the premise. I don't like the fact that I don't know what couple I'm supposed to root for since the FL basically is possessed for most of the drama. It would have been different if her personality and the one of the ghost popped up alternatively during the show, but from the comments it seems it's not so.Dropped: 10/05/2020

I started this drama with little expectation due to the very bad reviews, so it's not saying much, but this was a bit better than I thought.
It's not a particularly deep or complex story, but as a light rom-com it's passable.
I love both Nam Goong Min and Hwang Jung Eum and they are really good at playing off each other, but even so their couple got boring quite fast.
Among the customary love triangle, push-and-pull, misunderstandings, extremely noticeable PPL, contrivances and inconsistencies, you might also be able to find a couple decent messages, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
It definitely could be considered a waste of a great cast and quite high production.

I don't think I'll give this show a second chance. While it has some good elements going for it, it also doesn't seem to be my style. It has some very unrealistic elements in a melodramatic presentation, which makes it hard for me to buy.
What completely made me drop it even when I was willing to wait for a few episodes more, was the fact that the FL makes a very self-serving decision right at the second episode and the show doesn't seem to call her on that. I don't mind selfish leads, but I want the writing to point it out that they aren't acting nice; here it seems like it's the opposite.
