12. The Story of Ming Lan
Chinese Drama - 2018, 78 episodes
Wow, I've realized I don't watch historical dramas a lot or see them to their end. However, this was so addicting for me. I became consumed by Ming Lan and her family politics. I love chinesehistory. But the sheer number of episodes that the most lauded historical drama's have, has definitely dissuaded me from watching them (I'm looking at you Yanxi) however this held my attention from the beginning to the end. I Zhao Yu Ling is really at her best in this. I loved her in this role. It really showed me how starved I'am of smart, capable female leads in chinese drama's. The chemistry between her and her love interest was so palpable which makes sense lol (if you know you know).

13. The Light in Your Eyes
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Han Jimin wow! She is such a good actress. I'd never watched her before this drama. But I received the shock of my life when I saw that she was in her lat 30's and not 26 like I thought while watching this lol. But she gives such youthful main character energy in this drama. Now this drama has a lot of twists and turns and genre changes but the messages and love story was just done so well with it all. However, I wish they'd left things ambiguous at the end I'm not going to lie, I feel like it would've been so much better if we the audience didn't know what the truth was at the end. Still I loved the story and the leads so I cannot complain!

16. Kai Duan
Chinese Drama - 2022, 15 episodes
I loved this so much. I'm a sucker for romance so even though I do watch thriller/action shows I don't usually love them. However, from the first episode this had me HOOKED. Wow, the story is a masterpiece. it was like watching a movie. China please make more shows like this. I'm surprised this got approved. The loops were so good in that they were never repetitive, the characters and the story had me at the edge of my seat. And the villain wow that person played the heck out of their role! I was scared but entranced!! I want to rewatch with my boyfriend when he's forgot what I told him about it lol.

17. Cang Lan Jue
Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes
The best drama of 2022. This was such a joy to watch from beginning to end. I want to go back before this drama aired and go through watching everything over again. The best male lead character ever? Yes! DongFang Qincang is what I always wanted in a male lead, the most powerful guy that only has a sweet spot for one little orchid. Even though the pacing in the last episodes were not the best I still loved this to bits. I really wish we'd gotten at least 2 more episodes that way the pacing would've been better. But honestly i don't even care lol. I usually don't rewatch drama's but this is going to be rewatched to death when it comes on Netflix.
