This was a completely average and forgettable lakorn (which, due its cast, is actually a failure).But there is a scene in 22nd minute of the 2nd episode (I had to look it up, at first I thought wrongly that the scene was in 'Sapai Glai Peun Tiang' ) where I almost pi**ed myself with laughter:D Anne totally cracked me up, climbing through that car window, LOL.
Pitty this was not consistent through the whole lakorn, it lacked enough humor or romance strongly present through all the story, for me to put it on my re-watch list.
But, I'm quite looking forward to some of Anne's lakorns I have not yet seen;)

I would not re-watch this as it did not really hook me with its drama/fun/romance. In the end, I did not care whether they end up together or not.

I'm not a mafia-genre lakorn fan.So, I have watched only Lion, which I fast-forwarded almost all through, that did not touch me.
Then, I have watched Tiger, the light-in-the mood and romantic one, really watched it, but it did not touch me much, either.
Then, I watched the Bull and I agree the story is probably the most complex and romantic of the five. It would be almost perfect... I don't understand the need to fake kisses for the lead couple whose actors are both getting close to middle age (Cherry does not look as beautiful anymore, and even Ken Theeradeth, whom I love no matter if he's 20 or 40, has a MOUSTACHE in here (ugh).
Contrary to the other parts, this is the only one that really has the mafia atmosphere. I LOVE all 5 stories share the same title song in different versions (either way, the song is awesome). I just like this opening best, with the Bull Gang Leader making the horns over his head, LOL. And though it's got kinda ridiculous running-theme (no one killed here seems to actually die? oops, SPOILER*:), it has something that gives you the chills...
So no matter all the flaws, this was very powerful. It only feels kinda weird this is not the last story, as the the greatest antagonist dies* here, it all feels so heavy and final. But, still the 'Rhino' and 'Swan' to go... I doubt they can beat this.

Nok Sinjai here could be called the actual nang'ek here, due to that the whole thing's out of shape for a viewer caring for a classic lakorn where we should have happy ending for leading couple. But Piyada Akaraseni's character crosses the line from where there is no return.
I would much prefer the story would not go as that far, and hoped for the leading anti-heroine's redemption and happy ending in the arms of Nat Devahastin, looking still dorkily cute in here (don't know what happened to him later), which would be endearing... for him being younger, and her being so bad;))
For that dissapointment (and that awful "kissing" scene) this won't make my re-watch list.

I can neither encourage nor discourage you from watching this
First off, if you're interested, 'Lovefia's Blog' has written about each episode in detail. You can't ask the same thing from me, LOL.Secondly I must mention here that this lakorn has a supernatural element, also a child element, which is usually MINUS in my book, but here it was not so bad. Apart from - the big spoiler - the child actually dying.
I can't keep this spoiler-free and it's not even my intent. As the main girl - Bella Vanita - wakes up one day in the body of the little girl. What I would to emphasize here is, how much I appreciate the cast. Both the little girl and Bella Vanita are absolutely awesome.
I can't put it into words, you'll have to see it. I really must pay the highest compliment to young actress Bella Vanita as to being totally cute and adorable in her scenes, even more mentionable than how charming the child actress was, because that comes with the territory:) It's not that hard for cute little girl to be cute, as it is for 24-year old model-looking actress in her like 3rd role ever. Yet the scenes with her wearing a flower in her hair and acting all little-girlish will stick in my mind. Kudos to Bella Vanita!:)

That I did not go with the romance line the same way described on lovefia's blog, is one I'm not that into Boy Pakorn, I would rather forgive Anuchit (you know who I mean: for obvious reasons, my nickname for this actor is 'The Lips':D) And two, I seriously have a problem if they let the child die in the story. Whatever for? I would sure write this story differently;)
Apart from that, I have no more complaints, I loved the second couple, too. It's very adorable line of the school teacher and the young director, I especially found it totally endearing when they showed how and why he fell in love with her: he was secretly watching her often, and there was this cute scene of her with the little kids, consoling one crying little girl... then ending up crying with her, etc.:) There was a lot of good in this lakorn, but I wouldn't re-watch it so my score is not that high. But feel free to check it out!:)

Not the best start to the series
This is the 1st one of the Cupids Series,so it has the opening with all the 8 girls being introduced (which is cute & funny) and you're looking forward to it, because if you watched '3 Noom Nuer Tong' and thought Toey Jarinporn & Boy Pakorn would make a better couple, here you'll get it.
While good for Toey Jarinporn, who looks her cutest, Boy Pakorn is getting kinda on the older side. I did not particularly enjoyed their romance here, the plot did not interest me, the kiss was fake, just perhaps the younger brother deserved his own story.
Let's hope some of the remaining 7 parts will be better!

Why this is better? Because the main heroine is more interesting here. She is now someone who did make mistake in the past. So she now values love more. And we care more what happens to her. And I was satisfied with the ending (which I cannot say for the first part!:)

A love test?
This is actually not that bad drama: only it's not my cup of coffee. The GMM 25 network is here for us to educate us on what mistakes we shouldn't do in relationships. I'm kinda at age where I'm past that, so I just enjoy romance and prefer happy endings.So, the 'love test'? The heroine here goes and freely "lends" her sincerely-loving boyfriend to someone else. Of course that is a mistake, her own friends tell her that. There's not much logic to such story but the acting gets your attention enough.
Particularly the actress portraying the "other girl" got HER role in here (meaning the role audience remembers her from), I think.
But shows like this are nothing I should enjoy re-watching.

Far from good movie, yet still better than any lakorn of Toey Jarinporn's
This 'roadmovie' doesn't have much of a story to speak of, yet it's not lacking anything the super-long and super-complicated plot bearing lakorns can emotionally give you. It's mainly just two girls and it's enough (when you add the guy on the poster, it's actually a bit surplus), one is the known cutie Toey Jarinporn, the other one is also pretty and distinct personality. Their friendship is true. This film reminds you how traveling though often 'advertised' as desirable and enjoyable activity is actually pretty unconfortable, hazardous, how it brings the uneasy feeling out of one's roots (although it brings the unique meeting of new friends). So it's the oposite of what we see in lakorns where everything just looks pretty, I can appreciate the look of the interiors the girls sleep in (as they are not exactly traveling by hotels) and the harsh reality they meet aside the pirotesque sceneries for the tourists. In compare to most lakorns, the 'drama' here is much smaller and therefore actually more powerful and touching. The 'Big Three' are not big here, actually: London is glum, everything goes wrong in Paris and Rome is coming too little too late to save it all. I appreciate more the feeling this movie's drama gives than what is actually happening, as that is mostly nonsense. I am european and I understand that people from hot climate will come down with cold quite strongly, but I know it's perfectly legal to buy paracetamol without prescription, riding public transport without a ticket won't bring a policemen dramatically chase you and when we arrive to Italy, where on of the girls has very interesting work opportunity, I was hoping the mood of the movie shall be lifted and changed, but almost all the screentime is spent in yet another small workplace where girls have another 'drama' cheating in selling icecream. While all those small episodes are expanded in detail, the fact how one of the girls starts a professional career and learns a foreing language with ease is swiftly skipped. So it's far from perfect, but it leaves you with emotions that are believable, even in situations such as those where one of the girls starts following a completely strange guy around, just because she hears him speaking thai. Because you understand that perfectly. The main theme is if one of the friends won't leave the other, banal thing but important enough to touch a viewer.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

The poster says it all
I just look at this lakorn's poster and it says it all... Due to the story (kinda rough start for a lakorn... aren't all nang'eks supposed to be virgins? well, she started as one, LOL) I know we are supposed to be excited, but when we look at the poster with blank-staring face of... Mookda?Mookda is a young actress (I know her from 'Massaya', for which she was unexplicably nominated on an award, luckilly they were sane enough to give it to Fern Pimchanok for 'Lhong Fai', instead) who despite being attractive (she looks like a combination of similar other famous faces) gives me kinda average feel. I am not taken by her no matter what she does, she's got no charm, she looks awkward with makeup, she's not firm with her face expressions, her voice sounds wimpy and shaky, overall she does not interest me. So, let's talk about the MAN on the poster with her.
Now, this Kem Hussawee... He's 23. He looks really... Lame? I don't know how to better put it. Let's say if there is 1 man walking this Earth whom I would forgive using me as meat that he bought, it is NOT this one, LMAO. I would doubt he will get any more lead roles after this, but then again, it's probably pra'ek crisis coming. The old pra'eks are soon all to be over 40 and we can't seem to find any decent young ones...
As for the "story", I can honestly admit my overall excitement and interest in this lakorn considerably dropped by the beginning of episode 2.
As for the "drama": after everything that happened, the nang'ek should not have to do much, when they met again... Nothing was stronger than the position she held. I doubt he would dare as much as to approach her BUT, since her stupid stunt at the beach, our nang'ek obviously embarks on some kind of revenge plan that is supposed to be extremely smart, but of course it gets more stupid by a minute. There's a wise, helpful aunt who knows everything, who Mookda's character always consults. EXCEPT when it's not convenient for the script, because she often must do something dumb so that she has more encounters with pra'ek. So what if the character undermined herself neelessly, and the overall dynamics also got irrevocably spoiled? Perhaps the writer did this to get them on the even level so that they can get together in the end, but for me then it's not a real drama...
As for the "skinship"...? It can't be really called skinship, it's morelike clumsy-looking grapple. It starts in episode 3 when he fiercely kisses her at the parking lot and it's not a good kiss. Doesn't look exciting, just awkward. Next epi there's another slap/kiss scene with veery awkward manhandling and forcing a kiss that is not enjoyable to watch... And that's just a first of many, apparently. Pra'ek starts acting like a jungleman at times, after nang'ek started her silly "war". Anything goes. Maybe the audience should throw all the logic through the window and forget the whole story and just enjoy their cavortings. But it's not easy with this cast. Both the girl and the guy look sooo uncomfortable in their roles. And just as uncomfortable with each other. Troughout all this, whatever happens, there is no good kiss. Just more and more scenes to point THAT out.
What feels the most awkward is watching Mookda with the children. It's not that she looks too young. We all know the body is actually capable since early:) But she doesn't have that air of a manner the woman/girl gets when she BECOMES a mother. And obviously she cannot act it, so... It's like watching strange kids with a new, unskilled nanny on the 1st day. Not helping this lakorn much, either...
Since episode 3, one more male cast gets introduced. Wow, isn't Amp Pheerawas the guy I remember from all the creepy roles (most notably in 'Lilawadee Plerng') well, he always had this kinda creepy air, even if the particular role was not so creepy. Now he has matured into a guy 10 year older then pra'ek here. Shall HE work well with Mookda? Well, they're both like each from a different universe, standing there right next to each other, LOL. His character has a kid, too. A single father! Oh, so there we have the classic 2nd suitor ready. As I'm bored with this plotline before it even begins, I try to concentrate on something else. Let's see... Yes, what I actually like is the storyline about the two brothers.
The younger, spoilt, airhead brother who doesn't seem fit to take over the family business gets this unrevealed presence of the older brother who's trying to make a better man out of him. It's good to see siblings who for once are not competing to be on top. The older brother doesn't want anything for himself, for he long ago established himself abroad. This is just a trip for him to spend some time with his younger sibling and help him out a bit. I find it actually a good plot. But, it's the ONLY good plot. I'm not sure whether I'm going to withstand the whole 15 epi lakorn for this only (as I'm NOT sticking for MORE misunderstandings, more side-people getting inbetween, or even kidnapping: which are what the most "helpful" review here mentiones).
As for the whole "controversial premise" the huge fuss is all about: that excitement drops before the beginning of episode 2. And all the added "drama" could drop just as quickly. All the main girl needed to do is move back abroad. Having watched 1/3 of this lakorn, I honestly still cannot fathom what it is anyone found so entertaining...
Now, in episode 6, there is a pra'ek & nang'ek scene (a bed scene at that) which is surprisingly NOT a gross failure. That's a FIRST. In this scene, Mookda's character is not conscious, though. Maybe that's the key? Kinda painful reminder of how their story has started, nevertheless I can now state: This couple's intimacy is believable only in those rare moments when she's completely beside herself... LOLz.
I still keep on watching but every time I tune in I find Mookda too immature for a nang'ek of this kind. They style her for this by making her wear huge accessories and tying her hair back mercilessly but all it does she looks less natural, even. Acting-wise, all she does "best" is her typical blank-stare. The main guy whose name I don't care to remember now (I typed it above already) just keeps looking harmless. I don't feel the heat. The writers cram the two in a small hut together but it's no use... We get to see shots on Amp Pheerawas's face inbetween who is trying hard to look as he's going through something big thinking about the main duo together: which looks ridiculous in compare when we actually see the two. Well, that's how it ends up when you cast an actual actor in the side-role, LOL.
Anyway, 7th episode features first female initiated kiss. For all the people who LOVE abbreviations, first FIK. Suddenly she also sleeps with him (and lets him see her c-section scar) just because he says "you hate me but I love you". No explanation as to why he did such a thing like buy a girl in the hotel. Was that something he did regularly? They have no conversation about what kind of person he actually is, she just sleeps with him out of the blue mere couple scenes after she was clearly not over what he did to her. As they are not seen to come to any understanding, I wondered if her going to bed with him was some kind of a new revenge plan, but then he falls asleep and she says she'll tell him she loves him and she's got kids with him tomorrow. Same instant it's clear to viewers something would happen before she'll have the chance to do that... I feel like skipping this "plot" before it starts... What is the younger brother doing?
Let's see if his side-story shall actually be watchable, as for the main one, it's clearly no difference whether I finish watching all episodes. Okay... "Boss" Chanakan cannot act. Like, AT ALL. There it goes, then.

While episode 1 definitely had some magic, as soon as episode 2, typical k-drama annoyances started to take more and more prominent form. Everyone keeps screaming instead of talking (which is supposed to be funny), the main girl happily gets a job after long search but after mere days of being there, they put her to work in glossy fashion magazine instead, where everyone acts like a moron (obviously also supposed to be funny). It was getting on my nerves that she just didn't firmly tell them she knows nothing about fashion and therefore asks to be transfered back to her original department she WAS properly hired into. Instead, she needs to withstand it there for 3 months for some weird reason, surrounded by ever so annoying side-characters, who seem like brain damaged and won't let her at least suffer in peace. PLUS she has to work with the very person she wanted The Most to avoid.
Which brings me to the romance side of this. The main heroine knew nice, cute chubby childhood friend who was her childhood love. Years later he turned into a hot mean guy, who is now her new boss. I could understand her not revealing her identity to him. But the whole idea of sending her roommate to meet him in her stead was so dumb from the start. It gets only more nonsensical, if anything she should rather send her to work in the magazine. The roommate gives a speech to the main girl that she should give the new "job" more effort and that she should "study" from the magazines she has laying around the house (seriously), even gives her a crash course on clothes/cosmetics. I wondered why she just didn't apply there herself. But no, we watch a montage where the main heroine is to strive and put serious effort in her temporary work for stupid fashion magazine, just to please some "eccentric" superiors in there who are like cartoon characters or just plain idiots. And where her "bonus" is listening to her former childhood sweetheart scolding her for not being good enough in the work she didn't even want to do. While her roommate practically starts dating him in her stead...
It was such a huge relief when there were some off-work scenes. Normally I enjoy work dramas but this was a strain. There's one scene where the most annoying guy in the magazine comes to the main heroine who is alone by her desk minding her own business (he ALWAYS comes to her even though she herself doesn't pay him any notice), and asks her some money and to go eat with him in the evening. I would have given him the amount he asked immediatelly, just as long as he would shut up and leave. I might even offer 10 times higher amount for him to never speak to me again. I purposedly found out the name of the actor, Choi Si Won, just to put it here and name the main reason in case I just might not be able to complete this drama.
What was also annoying is that the same young actress who portrayed the main heroine when she still "was pretty" also portrayed her young sister or smth. It was positively confusing. The guy meets her, too. And I thought that maybe he should just date HER, lol. I really was not enjoying this and considered dropping it as early as episode 4. Every time there was this Choi Si Won's character, I felt like kicking him in the shins. Also, the roommate's character proved to be more interesting. Even if she was not the "right one" from childhood, she was the one who dated him now and who's to say she's not the right one? I couldn't help starting to cheer for HER, which is yet another failure of this show's creators. As she was getting more and more likeable, while the main girl acted more and more annoying. I mean, they did pick on her at work but she did act crazy. Maybe she should date Choi Si Won's character, if they were the same. Instead, they made them fast friends in some brother-sister relationship, which was about as credible as the "top notch" magazine they both worked for:-/
I admit in episode 6, there was a funny scene with Choi Si Won, which really WAS funny. Ironically enough, it was a scene with him & the lead guy (tending for him while he was sick). I still didn't like him with the lead girl, stupidly calling her "jackson" and practically stalking her around, but maybe this was a way to go. Pitty this wasn't a gay rom-com or smth, lol. I also wished for the roommate to finally tell the truth. As the likeable girl she was.
Episode 7 i was still finding it generally annoying and not even feeling the need to stick around till the guy realizes the big secret. All the clamoring and typical korean loud screaming in order to make "hilarious" series kept being tiring... But then the two main characters went away on a trip and we steered clear from all the noisy side-characters so it was actually quieter for a while (no matter their crazy adventure on the road), which was nice. Then, boom! Choi Si Won's character appeared again, and I just wished someone shot him with a tranquilizer. While it's not that I really liked the main couple, I REALLY didn't like him. Then we were back in the stupid magazine with the stupid english name... Things got better for the main girl & guy, but I didn't care for it. I didn't care whether they would each date one of the secondary characters, either. In all honesty, I didn't care for any possible pairing here, I didn't care who learns about the childhood past and I didn't care who dates who.
Half the series, the roommate still didn't tell the truth to the main guy. She said she wants to date him, not just be his friend and he didn't respond to that other than with reminiscing "their" childhood stuff. So, the roommate kept her mouth shut not only when she was afraid to open it, but even when it should ANNOY her that he doesn't know the truth? Meanwhile, the main guy noticed some signs that the main girl is his childhood friend but it still didn't get fully revealed. I must say I was losing my patience. I was like, it should be revealed NOW, and let's see how much drama can be squeezed out of it, because I don't think it would be that much, actually. I felt this show needed to move on to something else if it was supposed to run this LONG runtime...
Instead, the main guy fired the main girl from her job. And my only thought was if that meant she was also fired from her original job? Because that what what I was afraid of from the start. It's not fair at all that after she finally got a job they made her risk it just for a 3-month tenure in crazy fashion magazine where you can be immediatelly fired any time if you happen to bring a wrong-coloured sash on a dress or smth.
By the way, I didn't find the main actress pretty. And it was NOT because of the hair or the red cheeks. I don't find the actress pretty in general. And, she's COMPLETELY different TYPE than the one portraying her younger self. So, she's not even believable. She couldn't change that much in 20 years. I honestly wished the "drama" had a better plot than this.
Episode 9 the heroine lost her ruffled curls and the red cheeks, and I still didn't like her. But, the main guy did, so she was now on a the right path to become close with him but in the same time, we were already too far in the mess with the roommate girl. Who was to save this situation? Choi Si Won's character? Gee. Somehow I found the two girl's friendship more important than both the guys. Maybe because it was the only thing this drama's screenwriter bothered to make believable? I wished the roommate girl confessed to her friend. Why could she not? She needed her friend.
The main guy himself actually comes across as false during the whole drama. The actor is handsome, but is wearing the unnatural haircut with shaven-off under part and overly-long upper part. Probably dyed shade, too. When there is a flashback from the past, it's not credible the person is the same. His childhood version was chubby, afraid of the rain but else, cheerful and warm. The grown up version is guarded and tense. Same case like the main girl: it's not just the looks, you just don't believe they are the same people.
Episode 10: the blatant ab/use of time-stretching. We got the fake/switched/hidden identity thingy STILL unresolved. The whole show is stuck at dead point having obviously nothing else to offer, so...? Let's add yet more scenes where the characters schedule a meeting with each other to talk things through, then let's make it difficult for them to even arrive at that meeting, and when they finally do, let's have them say that today they're not in the mood to talk and would like to reschedule, again. Let's add yet more slow scenes, with slow dialogue in which the main heroine is asked, what does she intend to do? And she replies she's going to wait for some more time. Yeah! Don't worry about the audience dying of boredom by now. Let's directly tell the viewers that we're going to WAIT some more. LOL. I seriously thought the writer of this should be awarded a prize. It's like a cook in a restaurant, who'd arrive at your table personally to bring you an empty plate. Fantastic.
If we were to niggle in this for another 6 long runtime episodes, then I didn't get why we were so afraid to let the characters confront each other: after all I didn't find the childhood secret THAT significant (in compare with lying about your name for months, for example). If we as the audience already know something, naturally we only WAIT for the characters to learn about it, too. To watch their reaction. Then finally see something PAST that. Not to endlessly avoid it and just for the sake of it, let the characters grow more and more weirdos. This way, it looked more like we were watching people with brain damage, rather than characters in a drama.
Beginning of episode 11, the main guy finally learns the truth about the switch. And it's kinda... meh. It could be dramatic had he really treated the main girl with disdain, still. It could be dramatic had he really fallen for the roommate. It could be dramatic had we not been bored with this more than TEN long episodes. Main girl & guy then share a sweet reunion scene, either way I felt had she really harbour so pure a friendship, she WOULD meet him the first time around. The most emotional about the whole thingy was ironically the roommate, whom I felt never needed to assume identity of someone else. She was good on her own (she had more interesting backstory than the lead girl, actually). She was also the only one who fell love in this remarkably unromatic drama. Learning this, the main girl tries to keep her distance from the main guy by acting with forced jolly, but then again she was behaving like that since the beginning. To add my imput, I did not really care which girl gets the whiny guy in question (Park Seo Joon looks positively gay in this), I would actually be happier should the show move past this. Is there anything FUN on the program? Or could this episode at least be the last one?
Not the case: 5 more to go. I wondered, what purpose should those serve? The roommates forgive each other. The main guy keeps working hard for 'The Most Korea' to keep existing, which I didn't really cheer on (just the number of full-time paid employees I kept seeing in that "office" seemed a waste to me), I thought they might as well stop fighting it and celebrate their good run on some sending-off party. Instead, we watch them struggling, having regular "brainstorming" meetings, just to think of something to print once a month. The only "fun" seems to be yet another Choi Si Won's "gay rom-com" scene... Seriously, were the writers secretly fighting which orientation this drama should aim for? It was so lukewam on the straight front. When I'm thinking about it, also the girls called each other "wife" and said "I love you" daily. We know it was meant just as a sisterly love, still I guess a gay audience might actually enjoy this drama more than straight.
For me, each episode felt very long. I seriously don't see why this much of "content" couldn't fit into a HALF. Or less. During epi 12, I had the feeling like I'm still watching something that might have ended already.
Opened episode 13... And you know what? I wanted to close it immediatelly. So, should I force myself more into this? I checked... Is this the last episode, at least? No. And therefore, I decided I won't force myself any longer and I'm so happy. And in the end, it's not Choi Si Won like I thought (I kinda got used to him). It's everything. I just won't spare ONE single more minute for this. Sorry, not sorry.

Uh... "Department store drama"?
Main guy is okay, but main "girl" (34) could be better. What's more weird is that in the school flashbacks, she was still bearable, I mean she could look like that as a grown-up but then instead, she appears after the time skip with frizzy hair and some funny hair clip sticking out of her head: just look at this drama's poster (basically, she keeps making facial expressions like a toddler). I WOULD understand if they made her look like that in an attempt to convince us for a few school flashback scenes, but not for the rest of the show, where she's supposed to be already grown up! Did the creators had her past & present visage switched? Who did such a mistake?The school times flashbacks, the main couple has a good dynamics. He is the wealthy spoilt brat, she is the clever stuck-up. Now they are grown-ups, she no longer acts stern towards him, which was the only little thing creating a pinch of romance angst. Nothing makes sense anymore... Main guy also acts kinda childish... He says she owns him interest from their old bet. That literally stated: If you and me are in the same university attending the same class, then I'll carry your backpack for a year. But they did not both get in the same class. Only he got in. Had she got in, he would not get in (he was on the waiting list). So, either way, she owned him nothing. Yet he keeps talking nonstop about how he's going to make her repay him all those years... He's in fact overly interested in her since the very early episodes, he helps her (saves her, in fact), cares about her, even is jealous right in episode 2... It's like he's already DESPERATELY into her.
When there was a poignant scene in 1st epi where FL talks about the past events which prevented her entering college with the main guy secretly listening, the expressions on ML's face were great in conveying how he felt, but FL's looks AND acting was all over the place. I couldn't take her crying seriously, while the loosened hair clip kept wobbleing over her head...
I had to take time before 2nd episode... I had to smile when ML buttoned the loose button on FL's shirt. Watching her since she entered, that's precisely what I wanted to do:) But did they have to make her wear yet another headwear? In her new job, they wear platic tiaras with animals and other childish-looking objects attached to it, to promote the store... Like, was she sentenced to have something permanently stick out of her head? I missed how she just had a straight hair in her school days. She was more bearable. Also, our ML had even more childish behavior now, than back in school? Who did write this?
But... Each episode opens with dancing sequences, which are actually the best thing about this show!:) So funny. The "chillaxing" song is actually pretty energetic and catchy. I enjoyed the opening credits time and time again. Still, I DID wish the show would go back into school setting. So what if the main actor was 29 and the main actress in her thirties. They still looked better there. More importantly, their characters really had better dynamics in the school days... Just her working at his shop - with the awkward elements alternating with her moping about the fact that she didn't get into uni - already started to drag. I admit that ML's office had a REALLY funny interior. Else, I didn't really care for the "department store drama"... Instead, give me more of the super funny "loving, loving" dancing, LOL.
For some reason, Sean Lee was also added to the cast here, he's similarly "youthful" as FL is (I think I remember him from shows like TWENTY years ago) and I soon skipped his scenes. Problem was, I often wished to skip even the main ones. Episode runtime was too long for me to digest, I had to cut it in smaller portions. One of the biggest "dramas" happening in there is when one of street gangs gets into the department store. It like contradicts itself:) It's so stupid it really IS funny. Plus, the dance sequences. The dance sequences! This should have been a musical. THAT would really be good. Seriously.
First kiss is epi 8/16. They made sure FL was wearing pretty dress in that moment, nevertheless they let her look totally dead fish (and this is Taiwan, NOT Japan or Korea). ML is shown hyperventilating after the kiss, while FL just keeps making faces which makes her quite unappealing given her age. I would prefer had they not kissed. What follows is the scene when ML keeps pouting lips to the air and mimicking kiss movements while talking to his friend endlessly about the kiss. It's kind of ridiculous because that is precisely what we did NOT watch. The kiss was completely still. Then there are more scenes like both the mains keep texting about the kiss. Basically it's 1 minute and a half of screentime of the stiff kissing and the rest 1 hour and something of talking about it. There really is hardly any romantic suspense. As if the guy who pays millions for your debts, shields you with his own body, is super kind to you even after you treated him like cr*p, creates whole environment for you where you can feel good about yourself, and then kisses you, does NOT like you, LOL.
During episode 9, there was a school flashback, during which the song I know from 'We Best Love' was playing. Which fascinated me more than ANYTHING else. Perhaps, this should have been BL, too. LOL. It's clearly so hard to find likeable female leads. Then, the episode ends up with the decision that instead of a salesperson, FL should become ML's secretary. It's getting more and more idiotic.
Episode 10... Had enough after 5 minutes. Had enough in general.

But soon all hell is to break loose for whatever reason and she must flee away. I didn't care for the whole action plot to be honest, but the nang'ek knew how to use a gun and wasn't afraid to use it. Okay, then... Besides the outpour of action scenes that feel like random and without any apparent reason, this lakorn has one more problem, and that is the FANTASY element. First I thought, if the nang'ek really is regularly going to turn into a ridiculous "tigress face" using some bad visual effect, I'll bid this soon a bye bye. Therefore, it pleasantly surprised me there were whole long episodes where that element got completely skipped. I was afraid this would be unwatchable but that was NOT the case. Basically it's only at times somebody tries to rape her that Angkor turns into a tigress:) Or... hurt the one she loves.
The main couple gets together very soon... Main character dies after couple episodes, too... On the other hand, we have a bad guy who is like REALLY bad and pra'ek has a perfect opportunity to kill him but of course he doesn't do it so we keep having him (and there's more than 1 bad guy, we can see women being abducted every day and stuff... but even when several bad guys fight each other so it's a win-win whoever dies, no one does). New characters get introduced and join the main group who are neither fun nor eye candy and while I had nothing much against this series, I was not enjoying it that much because it dragged a lot for me... Too much traveling through forest, maybe? 1st kiss is in episode 10 and it's a modest peck. I am dropping this as it's very loong screen time with nothing much to look forward to. (I think you can calculate how much time I've already spent with this:)

How to make hot cast boring and psychology dumb
I honestly don't think that had I not been in love with Sung Joon already (fell for him in 'I Need Romance 3') I'd continue watching after first episode. In this drama, he portrays pretty annoying character. And, again he got paired with decade older woman (what's up with that?). Sometimes, I wanted to close my eyes and just listen to Sung Joon's attractive voice, because the facial expressions his character makes won't make one fond of him lol. The 35 year old fortune-teller woman was more likeable than his doctor (even though her fortune-telling place is called 'Madam Antoine' - not MadamE, even - and it's all kinda unclear how it was supposed to help her see anyone's future even if she COULD contact Marie Antoinette:) and that's not flattering. Especially it was not flattering to him that she actually made better psychologist.During further episodes, I further struggled with this. I love Sung Joon but I don't even like Choi Soo Hyun. I like the way the both mains handle their "cases of the week", but I don't care about those, really. First, I was afraid these cases would take most of the screentime, yet even more of it is filled with the doctor trying to make fool of the fortune-teller by making her participate in his "psychological experiment". I couldn't help it, watching him put so much time and energy into making her fall in love with him only pointed out how he was actually the one trying so hard. After much effort, even if he did succeed, I didn't get what that was supposed to prove. And I didn't get how having many suitors was supposed to make the woman look like a fool. While it was true that the doctor was the one who engaged them into pursuing her, a good psychologist should also know that nobody is capable of pretending 100%. Including himself.
He tries to convince her that he likes her since episode 3. It's like a trap he entangles his own self in. Despite seeing him struggling with the budding feelings, I didn't start cheering for him. Like I mentioned, even the woman, using senseles babbleing in french to convince others that she's conversing with Marie Antoinette (which becomes a problem any time she encounters a person who actually can understand french, lol) was still more likeable. And so was any of her other suitors. I literally cheered for anyone other than Sung Joon's main guy to win her heart. Episode 7/16, we can see Han Ye Seul dressed in goth style and with different make-up and I realized she really is pretty, lol. Interesting how it changed for me since the beginning of the show, I didn't particularly like her while I sure did like Sung Joon and now during this drama that seems to have reversed, lol.
I enjoyed the kiss. Because Sung Joon is a good onscreen kisser. But, the moment the characters quit kissing and started talking, my interest dropped. I seriously did not care whatever relationship these two would or would not develop. Choi Soo Hyun kept babbleing about psychological methods and tests. I thought, we watched the kiss, we had enough clear result already, lol. I wouldn't mind if the woman just left him there talking and went on with her bussiness. Somehow in this drama, Sung Joon successfully managed to portray a character who is good only for mating, not dating. LOL. The whole "secret psychological experiment" plot bored me at 1/2 series already. I didn't care. And I was annoyed that the main heroine did care. She was too cool for that. She should have kept Choi Soo Hyun as a booty call, tops. Or she could have climbed some tree and call out loud that she loved him, for it finally be over. It would be the same to me. His only luck was there was no attractive man except Sung Joon in this drama (the two other guys were both the gay types).
So, the main girl (well, woman) attempts to date Sung Joon's character, who is a psychologist who himself needs treatment. Even that doesn't make him more likeable. It could be said he would do better to concentrate on his own problem instead of his dubious experiments on women, but I did not particularly care to watch whether he overcomes his bias or not.
They should have added even more making out scenes. Because everything else was a bore. At episode 11, the (so far likeable) woman decides to repay the main guy by doing the same experiments ON HIM, which I found out of character and to say plainly... stupid. I was seriously tired. It was more than TEN episodes. I asked myself: Won't there be ANY other plot than the endless "experimenting" on each other? And I had to reply to myself, that I don't even care how this will end. So, I don't want to see 5 more episodes. I am bored ALREADY.
All in all, it was interesting experience to watch a drama with actor I like so much, and yet in this drama I didn't like him at all, LOL. Apart from that, the story was not so interesting, I found it all rather draggy, and the "psychology" rather dumb.

Esther Supreeleela isn't bad cast for role of Linin (I refuse to call her 'Linen' like someone who made the subtitles persistently did... like the poor girl is some kind of a cloth:) she definitely has a funny side to her. She isn't beautiful at the same time, as Lee Da Hae was. Pae Arak is 34 here. I'm not used to the main guy in this story being this old but, his character is supposed to be opposite from the goofy Linin. Nevertheless, the 2005 My Girl's main couple cast was funny & HOT, not just funny, so there it stands unbeated. Among the pros of this version definitely is the episode runtime (it has more epis, though). Music theme is great, because it's a rip-off from the original version.
One of the most hilarious episodes in 'My Girl' was when the heroine stayed (or rather squatted) in the georgeous house that nobody used. Esther Supreeleela enjoyed this sequence too, apparently. We can see her watching 'Princess Hours' on TV (no kidding) exactly at the Tao Sattaphong's kissing scene with no kissing (did she read my review? LOL).
There's also a guy with unsightly facial hair clinging to Lilin as a second male (by the way, the korean original's second male had that typical korean androgynous look which made the main actor the more stand out... here we simply have a guy who's just plain). As I've edited that out my personal copy of korean 'My Girl' long time ago (I always make my own "director's cuts":) I completely forgot about all that (same with the side-girl). I had to wade through it again, here...
Holy cricket! There's David Asavanond. Now, he gave me a scare, LMAO. I nearly pi**ed my pants... I really forgot about this side-character, too. It must have been someone who was not THIS hilarious in the original version. Else I would have kept it. Whom I must seriously praise is Wo Jirawat Wachirasarunpat. MDL doesn't even list his support role, but for me he was one of the reasons the thai version worked at least in some ways. I definitely focused on watching different people than in the korean one. Now talking about the side-girl, here nicknamed 'Penny'. She seems kinda... older? I had to google a bit, but birth year 1980 means she's 38 here. So I was right, she's even older than Pae Arak.
Meanwhile Pae & Esther engage in large scale of funny and crazy and flirty scenes (also scenes where girl conveys her life views to the boy). Plentiful interaction of the lead couple IS the strongest suit of 'My Girl', after all. Nevertheless I find Pae a tad old for Esther. And for most of the involved antics.
20 episodes IS a bit much in this case... For me this dragged since episode 8. By epi 10 (half of the series) I was seriously more or less zoning out... Pae Arak was so thirties daddy. He just really wasn't quite as young as the role:) Most scenes that rocked the original version were not working. Around epi 11 I was considering I'd drop the series, as the remaining episodes were so many, especially after the experience with 'Princess Hours', where I also wanted to drop the series all the time but forced myself through TWENTY episodes to write solid enough review only to find out I might as well have dropped it after first few. Here, I still waited and hoped for more Wo Jirawat Wachirasarunpat or more David Asavanond. But each episode after the 11th I wished it was the last one already. Watching this, I kept thinking about how much runtime was STILL before me, more than about anything else, to be honest.
This was NOT as bad as the mentioned 'Princess Hours'. I didn't hate it, just watching Pae & Esther, I didn't particularly wish their characters to end up together. So, this didn't suit me much as romance... maybe comedy. Definitely overly long, though. I would seriously cut it to HALF.
When the main couple reached the decision to run away together and they had their kiss (which was the romantic PEAK part of the original 'My Girl') all I was thinking was she looked like she just brithday-kissed her uncle. Looking at Pae Arak, one can imagine him in family comedy, with toddlers crawling all over him, unfortunatelly he's not so convincing anymore portraying the first love angst. And as I remember the story, it would still take a while for them to get to their happy ending. So we will have now FOUR more episodes of them to niggle with it and I was SO over my patience limit already. So I just skipped through the rest (briefly saw Pae Arak crying in epi 18, he is NOT a good actor in this). They needed to re-make this into LESS episodes, not more...
In conclusion, if nothing else I got reminded I haven't watched the 2005 'My Girl' for quite some time now, perhaps time for another re-watch:)
"My girl", will always be beautiful Lee Da Hae for me, and not ever so boyish looking Esther, I am sorry. As for Pae Arak, while nearing his middle age, it's like he's somehow determined to ruin my most cherished romances from back in the day. Not only he did remake of my favorite k-drama, but also my the most beloved thai lakorn ever: 'Tok Kra Dai Hua Jai Ploy Jone' (yeah, INSTEAD of YOUNG TIK!). Both cases he'll be decade older than the previous pra'ek was. So, "younger versions" with older pra'ek... Some producers apparently believe we "need" those.
