Good story, bad casting
A friend of mine recommended to me, and the premise of the story seemed good, so i tried it and after almost halfway I sort of struggle in finishing the drama. The drama started out pretty good and interesting, and the story between the ML and FL seemed cute. Towards halfway, the story seemed dragging and the female casts' acting is below par especially compared with newer c-dramas that I've watched. The second female lead that appears halfway is super annoying and honestly the drama started going downhill since her appearance and I thought the ending was a bit rushed as well. I don't think I will recommend this drama. There are much better c-dramas to occupy your time with.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
The first 1/3 of the series are a bit okay for me, but after that it's too difficult to digest. This is not because of any gory scenes. I'm used to it with CSI & Criminal Minds. Didn't bother me at all. Gory scenes came hand in hand with mystery detective stories, it's to be expected. But the story for me is a bit confusing and all over the place. What irritates me the most is how they can communicate with each other using two different languages! That is to me just doesn't makes sense and that alone takes my rating down to 1 (or maybe -1 LoL). The handsome-ness of Wallace Huo is not even enough to justify this part and kept me focus on watching this series. I did finish it, but i did not wholeheartedly watch it.
With character in the series who supposedly studied and lived in the US but unable to speak English just doesn't make sense to me.
The turtle is cute though :)

I really enjoyed watching the first half of this drama. The chemistry between Deng Lun and Dilraba in the first half is very good and it continues to be good throughout the drama. Dilraba's character here is so cute and funny and I like how she adores and loves Bo Hai (although in real life, stalking someone like that is never cute, but hey.. this is a drama series). I also like the dreams part in the first half (it sort of disappeared as their relationship progresses). Fast forward to the second half..... I literally watched it with 1,5 speed so it goes faster. The story starts to drag. I don't like the Mo Nan story, the revenge part is not watchable and the cute and fluffy elements that I like is not there anymore. The ending is also confusing for me. It felt rushed and no explanation on how recovery can be flawless and felt like there's holes in the story on that part.
I would have given this a higher rating had it stop at a fewer episode. If you are a huge fan of Deng Lun and/or Dilraba, I would recommend you watch it, just for them (I might re-watch in the future but only the cute and fluffy scenes). Otherwise, just skip this one and find another drama to watch (or only watch the first half and skip to the end)

sweet love story
this is a sweet love story. there is very minimal to no conflict throughout the series. i like the chemistry between wu leo and zhao jin mai, but found the series to be a slow burn as it’s just sugary sweet most of the time. what is missing is spice 😄 but it’s quite a change watching a drama without any annoying characters. if you like idol romance drama, you should watch this. this drama is also full of eye candy. overall, it’s okay for me, but the no spice thing for me is rather boringVond je deze recentie nuttig?

If you think one and only is slow, do not watch this one! it's not a continuation of one and only. It's just about reincarnation and finding true love in another lifetime. Other than that, there is no connection whatsoever. The casts (other than the main ones) are also different from one and only. The era is many gazilion years after one and only. So if you would like to skip this one, you're not missing anything. This has got to be the slowest drama that I've ever watched. I watched it in 1.5x speed and it still feels slow. In this one, Allen Ren's character is so timid and cowardice that i want to smack him in the head sometimes. Even after they're married, they don't act like a married couple - this i don't get at all. And the whole relationship is so unreal, especially since it's set in the modern period. There is very minimal conflict and until now i don't get who the antagonistic character is.
I think this is made especially for those people who hate the sad ending in One and Only, and would like to see the couple get together, which i totally understand. But this seems forced to me.
One and Only is so much better and in my opinion, you can watch it as a stand alone. I'm not one who hates sad ending. So it's fine for me. Sad ending is preferable than any open ending

Okay, so many people and reviews that I read told me that this does not end happy. For me, I don't care about sad ending. It's those sad ending ones that stays with you for years after you watch it, because it's just so emotional at the end, so it last longer in my memory (open ending is the one i hate!). Even though I've prepared myself for that last episode, it's still brings tears to my eyes. It's that forbidden love story element that gets me at the end. I thought both Bai Lu and Allen Ren did well in this drama. They portray the emotion so well that you feel their lost love pain. I would say don't be frightened with the sad ending, the story and acting itself is worth the journey. Beware though: it's a slow burn :) Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

I was excited to watch this drama. I thought this would be one that I have a hard time moving on from and the FL and ML would be favorite TV couple. I figured, since a lot of people like this drama, it can't be that bad, can it? WRONG. Maybe people have different taste, but this is just okay for me. Nothing to brag about or write to my friends to immediately watch this drama. Well, to be fair, this drama is not all bad. There are some good things about it, for example the music. I love the music, especially the ending theme song of the first half. The story had premise, but I thought it was just not executed well. It started out good, but there is so many loopholes. (SPOILER ALERT: The main loophole is the last episode. How can they have a daughter at the end? When Sang Wu Yan was brought to the hospital, her tummy was FLAT! Even if the baby was prematurely born, her tummy can't be that flat for > 6 months pregnant! That is puzzling. I was hoping for a plot twist at the end, when she said goodbye. I thought she didn't survive and it was all just a dream. I would have given a higher score if that is the case haha). The positive side is, this drama has very minimal conflict, but to me it can be boring. If you're just looking for an easy watch with no conflict and simple romance story, then you would be happy with this drama. As for me, I don't like it. Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
A love across universe
This a monstrous (by today's standard) 59 episode xian xia. In my opinion, it can definitely be shortened to 40 (the norm episode numbers today) and would have gotten a higher rating for me. I think this is a good drama, with good storyline and interesting characters. My first time watching both Cheng Yi and Crystal Yuan. I thought Cheng Yi is a good actor and played his role well. He can show the emotion that the complicated Si Feng faces. Crystal, on the other hand, is just so so and her character her is in the border of annoying for me. Like the majority of Chinese Xian Xia dramas, the "white" or "good" clan is not necessarily the good guys. They are hypocrites and act like a saint, whilst not necessary good. The evil clan in the end sometimes can be the good guys. Overall, i enjoy watching this drama, although i do tend to loose focus on some parts.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

heartwarming story
i watched this with low to no expectation at all. i was just looking for something light with fewer episodes. I made the right choice. This is a good one. storywise it's quite interesting and different (what if you can meet your mom when she was young and learn what she's like and befriens her?) Acting is pretty good too. the characters are interesting. i would've give it a higher rating if not for the college years and a few new, annoying and unimportant character. if you're looking for something like and heartwarming without too much focus on the romance side, i would recommend this oneVond je deze recentie nuttig?
