This is a good drama that missed the chance to be a great romantic story. Although it has too many episodes, the supporting cast stories are nice. The main lead couple has good chemistry but plot was full of depressive attitude from the female lead, even if her character was written like that, their dramatic life became and her indulgence and self sacrifice for everyone else was overly extended and it got tiring toward the end. Forgiveness for his mother and embracing her selfishness was ridiculous. Even then, the cast did a great job delivering their characters. CLIFFHANGER!!!
Oh My Lord is a good lighthearted drama that, sadly, ends with a cliffhanger and, hopefully, will be followed by a second season. The show has quick resolutions for the arising problems but it also has clichés that could’ve been avoided. For a 15 episodes drama, the leading couple and their servants did a good job bringing their characters to life, but for the most part, the acting from other supporting cast was subpar. Lovely Swords Girl is a light period wuxia drama that, although the actors shine on their dramatic moments, the leading lady, Yu Shengyou, is insufferable for most of the drama’s duration. She is headstrong and stubborn, loud and unruly, and, with the excuse that she’s young and doesn’t know what love is, she drags two male leads that, for 24 episodes, do nothing more than show her love, protection, and understanding. Although the drama depicts a love triangle, there’s no consistent chemistry among the leading males and Yu Shengyou. This drama is good to watch without high expectations while the viewers wait for a better one to come! There are some aspects of the drama that are worth watching: the great dynamics and unwavering love and support among the Gong family, Yu Shengyou and her faithful maid strong friendship and reciprocal support, the younger Gong brother and their love interest, Yu Shengyou’s father and the Gong’s parents. Must mention that Yang Shi Ze, as Gong Yuan Xiu, delivered a great performance as both the reserved and steadfast male lead and the fool Yuan Xiu. Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Zong Cai Fu Ren Wo Dang Ni Le (2024) is a great romantic comedy miniseries. The story is about the leading lady, Wen Yan (played by Han Yu Tong), who dies after an accident with a broken heart after her husband refuses to see her but, immediately, she finds herself alive and well being reborn a year before her death; thus ensued her determination to move on with her life without Shi Mu Bai (played by Sun Yue), the man that she has liked since childhood. Although the drama starts with a heartbreaking moment, the plot sticks to the comedy genre. The female lead transforms into s delightful force to be reckon with. The male lead, who, after her rebirth and insistence in getting the divorce, finds out that he really wants to stay with her, turns into a lovesick puppy and pursues her incessantly while protecting her when she’s in treble as she deals with her own troubles with her family. There is a non conforming antagonist that is always annoying the female lead and loves to slap but, it so just happened that the slapper keeps getting slapped by the female lead in a ridiculously funny way. The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life and, although there many misses of intimacy for the leading couple, their interactions are somewhat sensual, heartwarming, and funny. Sun Yue is great on the role of the pursuer that really loses his “dignity” in order to get back with her and Han Yu Tong is fantastic on both the naïve woman in love and clever force of nature roles. Love After Love is a romantic miniseries that, although it has a nice premise and no major issues affect the leading couple’s relationship, the leadings couple’s romantic interactions were good but the leading lady's facial expressions were somber for most of the drama. The plot has a leading male that is overly considerate but fails to explain things in due time in order to avoid misunderstandings. Of course, these situations and characters are part of a poorly written story that could’ve been much better. There are too many things going on at once and the romance, once the lead couple gives in into their feelings for each other,although it is not lively, it is beautifully gentle and steadfast. This drama can be consider a fantasy drama if the fact that a young woman that was locked in a mental institution and lived in the country throughout her teenage and into adulthood years, with little to no supposed exposure to high level education, can be rich, can master Technology, Arts, Music, and have her own genetics based laboratory. Besides this “fantastic element”, the plot is interesting and the leading couple has nice chemistry. The premise is that leading lady is a genius but still, in a miniseries with little time for plot or character development, it was overstretched given the fact that she was institutionalized! : ( If the viewer can put all of that aside, the drama can be consider comedic and cute. Ru Guo Zhe Bei Zi Wo Hai Ji De Ni (2024) is a miniseries that was well performed, especially by the leading couple but, even though the leading male, Lu Zhao Wei (played by Yu Long), never stopped looking for his bride to be, Jiang Yuan Yuan (played by Yang Mie Mie also as / Zhao Wen) and five years later she reappears in his life, there’s no real romance happening throughout the drama because most of the plot is about the antagonists trying to get rid of the female lead and a leading lady with amnesia. The drama becomes very frustrating as it keeps the leading couple from recognizing each other until the end, to leave the viewer with just an affirmation that they will not be separated again.
