How to make a eunuch: sharp knives and alcohol!

This is a decent start. I enjoyed that the writers kind of committed to making us wonder if Ra On really was a girl. Who knew the whole becoming an eunuch could be so funny in all its horrific glory. *shivers* But it was so hilarious I'm still laughing about it.

Interesting introductions to all three men. I am totally picking up on Sungkyunkwan Scandal vibes. Which is okay at this point. The writers will have time to develop everyone. I will say Park Bo Gum makes a very lovely prince. Well lovely looking . . .

This episode was pretty much fun with small hints of the bigger plots. The King is afraid and letting someone else rule for him. Ra On's male "guardian" apparently has some kind of checkered past.

Let's see how Ra On handles becoming the puppy! And I do believe the Crown Princess is currently wearing a fat suit . . . okay. I feel a makeover scene coming on at some point in the drama. The prince would have no idea what a plane is, so I'm going to say that this drama will not be one of those 100% accurate ones. Which is fine. This is gonna be a fun period drama.

What?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! No. ;_;

Upon finishing this episode I immediately jumped up started running in a circle with my arms frantically flailing in the air. As I desperately repeated "Please no! Please-no-no-no!" over and over. What a cruel cliffhanger. All I can do is be thankful that there's another episode coming and no long week wait in between. Unless the next episode wants to be cruel . . .

That said this is a great setup episode. It's working hard to give us a feel for all the characters and where they stand. The hospital politics are here, but they're not the main focus and they're just interesting enough. This cast really has so much chemistry that I can see all the ship/couple options! Doctor Crush indeed.

"I'm not going to die because of a man's love like Mom did." ~Hye Jung

This episode is a great setup for showing that despite Hye Jung having bettered her life and becoming a doctor, she still has scars. Scars that have definitely ruined her views of family and love. However, I think it's also given her great insight on who is a real friend and family to her. Ji Hong is going to have his work cut out for him.

I loved Hye Jung and Soo Chul together this episode! The huge build up to them meeting. (For those following my reviews that would be the hot motorcycle man!) They really have great chemistry, but I'm satisfied with were they're going together . . . well you know.

Seo Woo is turning out to be a very compelling character. I felt heart broken last episode when she was trying to save that patient. It's interesting watching her react to everything this episode. Though I don't think she realizes she she's not some nice person who's been walked all over. She's been the bully who just can't take no. I'm very interested in who will end up with her, so far I don't think any of the current cast can handle her. (A small part of me thought Soo Chul could.)

I love the role reversal here is Hye Jung pulls Yoon Do out of the way! You know the standard move the guys in drama always do, and I believe Ji Hong has already done it for Hye Jung. Yoon Do is so cute and adorable, even Ji Hong admits it. Honestly I can't even help myself from cheering Yoon Do on in pursuing Hye Jung.

Great episode!! I'm loving the entire cast here. I'm curious as to how things will go with Hye Jung's legal family. Not to mention all the other plots going. It's a great feeling. Most of all I need the next episode now! So be warned guys, make sure you have time to start up the next episode right after.

(Hye Jung and Soon Hee WOMANCE is driving me crazy! They're so cute together! I really do love every moment.)

Picks up right where we left off!

Picks up right where we left off. I would hope that if it's an accident and you dragged the person out that you were supposed to be killing the cops would wonder about a few things. Like how did an unconscious person get herself out of a burning building, or see anything after she was being "murdered"? Also, I had no idea that if you're older than 14 in Korea you can be tried as an adult and actually go to hard core prison? Wow. (I really feel like I need to know more about Korean law here!)

This is the crying episode. I think maybe it annoyed me because I have a lot of memories of Park Shin Hye crying a pretty good amount in whatever drama she's in. Though this episode deserved those tears. It went the dramatic and sad way I feared it would. (Though it's interesting that they'd hint that it wasn't just the way something like that could go, but an actual wrong doing? Very interesting to take it that way.) At the very least I hope Soon Hee will come back into Hye Jung's life. I love a good BFF relationship in any story. Especially girl BFFs as dramaland always seems to be in short supply of them.

Also, I have to note after seeing the ER fight scene again how amazing Park Shin is doing in her role of Hye Jung. I read she's doing all of her stunts for her movie, and it certainly shows in the quality of the scenes. She's really going the distance for this role.

I love seeing that Ji Hong's emotions are so deep. I think Hye Jung thought of him as a friend, though I think she realizes that she could easily feel more. I'm still behind the teacher/student thing being bad, so I look forward to them both being adults when the romance picks up. Which is a good thing as the "13 Year Later" comes to an end at this episode. Teasing us just enough before a dramatic end! Man I really want to know which characters are going to be present in the present!!

Random thought: I haven't said anything about it before. However, I can't stay silent any longer. That puppy is so adorable. I want to puppy nab it.

Even despite the flashback.

Ah, a flashback episode starter. Not to mention that Doctors is a show that I've put a lot of expectations on. So this first episode had a lot of room to fail with me. However, it sucked me in despite the annoying moment when the "13 years ago" message came across.

It's a lively flashback! AND I think this is going to be one of my favorite roles for Park Shin Hye to play. She's so vivacious and cool! It's great to see her so animated in a character type I haven't seen her take on yet. (I haven't seen all of her stuff so maybe she has in something else.)

The setup is fun and I'm fully engaged with the "13 years ago" especially since the opening scene grabbed my attention and I want to know about Hye Jung. A doctor who can tell a gang what to do in her hospital!

Visually Doctors is pleasing too and I enjoyed the title and flashback transitions. Not to mention I enjoyed both the American and Korean music choices. I hope that continues. (Come on, Sk8ter Boy anyone?)

Overall I great start, the ending was . . . strange to the say the least. But the writing has captured my attention and I'm very curious about Hye Jung and the rest of the cast.

Better.

Flashbacks. Sighs. We're only 6 episodes in . . . there is no need for them. Especially to be that long. The only flashback that should have been was a look into the Shamaness and Hyun Seo's past. Which ended up being exactly what I thought it would be. Even if Hong Joo, the shamaness, had a typical story her performance of villain is well worth it.

Things got a little better for the characters. Connections coming back. Though I cringe as to why Seo Ri would step out of their again! I get the curse flared up, but still. Now it looks like Poong Yeon is going to be shelved already! And I'm really curious about him and his apprentice! Darn it.

The show has already taken back two deaths and now it's just killing off random people. The impact of "no on is safe" lost a little of it's mojo. Does that mean a certain twin will come back later on down the line? I'm still curious who the masked red robes is, as I'm pretty sure it's not the King or Hyun Seo. If it is that some bad directing of time tables.

The falling scene finally happened! And sadly I was more annoyed by what lead to it with Seo Ri. So that thrill was taken away. Not to mention how annoying the previews look. I'm really hoping the next episode will up the writing and ex-na the flashbacks. The series is too short and definitely not far enough along to need flashbacks. Maybe a flashback voice over for impact.

Sigh. I've decided to stick this one out, but I really hope things shape up.

Very promising.

You know I'm really excited! This is technically my first action drama. Or one with action being a main part of it. Visually this was pretty awesome and the fight seems where splendid fun. Healer the Night Courier! Yeah!

It kind of reminds me of this one show that tried to make a go of it in the US. Or transporter! Check the package, get the job done, don't ask questions. Very cool.

The setup to the news is interesting. The way the past is shown to the present is very cool. Especially the idea of these people fighting for freedom of speech in the news. The overlay of the younger characters to their older selves is nice. I'm just a bit confused, but I appreciate how they're doing it. So I'm sure my confusion will be resolved soon.

Healer has definitely captured my attention. So far I really like all the actors that I've seen and I'm definitely compelled to know more about Healer. (Not just because of the peek of certain yummy body parts I swear.) Love the humor, action, fast pace of the show, and it's setup. Excellent.

9.0/10

All of these characters feel so dear to me. It's wonderful. It's interesting that the love triangles are more like friendships triangles. Yu Cho Hui doesn't want first love or whatever. She wants first friendship. Hong Doo Shik and Ji Sung Hyun are clearly meant to be great friends. However, Ji Sung Hyun is no fool. He's not going to waste any time. He's going for Yoon Hye Jin. It was so sweet that instead of trying to force Kim Gam Ri into letting him use her house he showed her that he could bring people. That a cure to her loneliness is what he was offering. He doesn't force himself, he shows people. Man this is such a sweet and beautiful drama!!! I'm surprised how chill everyone was about the 3 being in the house together. They clearly don't read smut. ^_-

10/10 - THAT BIG REVEAL!!!

Eun Ho is clearly the other side of a love triangle. Eun Ho is more than willing to get Ji Won's number, the boy is not over our girl Ji Won! So I love how Ji Hyuk is clearly jealous and interrupts the moment. Not before phone numbers can be exchanged. But it was a neccassary evil. To help Ji Won! Despite the bullies never apologizing to Ji Won it is very satisfying to see how fast they turn on Jung Soo Min. Soo Min seriuosly that she could still somehow come out on top. What's more is everyone's reaction to Ji Won showing up to work with her new look. I like that Ji Hyuk is in shock. He liked seeing her beautiful, but he doesn't want her jerk boyfriend to see her like that. Because Min Hwan is so happy with it. His reaction is sickening. You can see it in his eyes. He thinks he owns her even more. Even after bashing her body because she wouldn't have sex last episode. Men like that . . . yuck. Which is why I'm happy to have it portrayed in this drama. Men like Min Hwan exist. Now Ji Hyuk just doesn't want Min Hwan to hold on to her more, but also felt that Ji Won didn't need to change. He liked her as is. It will be interesting as Ji Won fully realizes the extant of Soo Min's crazy. I like her ignoring her. It's actually drawing Min Hwan and Soo Min together. Soo Min might be using the manager to try and still Ji Won's idea, but she'll want Min Hwan. Becasue Soo Min can't stand that Ji Won has things she doesn't. Boyfriend, new friends, and beauty. Soo Min is a true narcissist. Not just feeding off of Ji Won, but there's a term called flying monkeys. Where the narcissist gets other people to bully what psychiatrists call the Narcissist Supply, which would be Ji Won. Sorry. Totally deep diving, but I love the portrayal here. People like Min Hawan and Soo Min are real. And to be honest if Dr. Phil says he can't cure or help them, because we can never understand fully how they think. WWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTT! Ji Hyuk does indeed know things!! Bravo!!! Amazing! I didn't see that coming. Yesssssssssss! I'll talk about it more on my next episode review to avoid spoilers. Oh, and that brother sister connection. Wow. Very cool. Though I don't like it adding to the misunderstanding plot.

10/10 - Masterful storytelling.

True Beauty is so far missing the curse of some Dramas. Which is that episodes 10 to 13 drag and crash, and then an ending is needed. (I'm currently 30 min into the next episode.) Instead this lovely and wonderful episode is here. Honestly every episode has gotten better, and better. And the next one is proving to be just as an amazing ride. Thank you! Thank you! This episode is so impactful. It's amazing. It's deep and it just . . . . feels. It covers so much and I love the balance of intense emotions ranging from ones that make me want to cry with sadness to joy, and just to laugh out loud in triumph! Or cheer happiness. I love it.Joo Kyung and Soo Ho are both brave and amazing. I'm so proud of them. Standing on their own and together. Soo Ho telling Joo kyung that she's brave and strong, more than him, was such a beautiful moment. Then for him to do some PDA in school is huge for him. Especially sending her that video. (Tee-hee.) Joo Kyung's sibling's relationships were also very interesting this episode. I love them. More importantly I love how her family rallied around her. Finally getting it. I'm so happy. Though I do believe Joo Kyung did try to tell her mom, but her mom bulldozed over her. I felt that her lack of listening to her was what really kept Joo Kyung from confiding in her. Also, it seemed like her mom cared more about the other siblings. So hearing some of the self reflection from her mom was nice.Oh, man! This was such a wonderful episode and I had to have the next one queued up because I needed to know what Soo Ah was going to do! And if you're dying to know binge onward. Cause you shall be rewarded.

8.0/10 - Awesome.

Opening up with that picture of him hugging his mom! Like how it's handled, I feel like the standard drama plot would be for the photo to break our main couple up and cause annoying drama. Instead we get a fun fight between the head of the company and Gong Tae Sung's mom! I love that the old woman knows the restaurant is a secret place for actors meeting for a secret meal at her place! Hilarious scene! Poor Jo Ki Peum, but at least it's a meet cute. I'm happy she let her boss have it especially after he new he had wronged her. I love the development between Jo Ki Peum Do Soo Hyuk. Not only that but out of this scary business Do Soo Hyuk and Gong Tae Sung have had what I think will be the start of a friendship! Park Ho Yeong is so miserable she literately hopes in her car and drives away! At least Kang Yoo Sung is honest with her and tells her he's not sure how he feels. Clearly after he says how cute she is he has to have a bit of a clue! After all I pieced together who the villain was pretty fast! Go Kang Yoo Sung! Go!"My first and last love will be you."Wow! This episode went so sweet and then seriously intense for Oh Han Byul and Gong Tae Sung. At least once Gong Tae Sung realized he liked Oh Han Byul he had no reservations. This episode was a bit darker due to anti-fans trying to tear down Tae Sung, but I just love that the writers balanced it out with such sweet and tender moments. and in his time of need again. Han Byul will always come running for him.

9.0/10 - Pretty fabulous.

It's just too cute to see the whole PR time fawning and swooning over Gong Tae Sung's smooth scene. "He's my Actor" Had me snort laughing! Then to see them gossiping and jumping to conclusions that Gong Tae Sung and Oh Han Byul both took the same day off. Oh, I thought it was a younger brother that he lost! A friend both of them know! It was such a moment. To have Gong Tae Sung telling Lee Yoon Woo how Oh Han Byul thought he was seekign praise, and she was to clueless to realize he wanted her geniune opinion. On top of the reveal that he: KNOWS HE LIKES HER!!!!! It was such an emotional roller coaster. I was laughing, then super happy, and then moved to sniffles. it's so sweet they come to his grave on his birthday. Someone was watching them!!!? It was awesome seeing noodle actor make a hit!!! The support of the awesome Park Ho Yeong to get him there! Though it makes me sad that he has to learn a fake name. "He's no longer gukbap guy. Your poison guy made a huge impression." Then the celebrate how good he is and rejoice in him being unable to even sip alcohol. Which of course meant we were gonna get some crazy drunk shenanigans. OMG! Gong Tae Sung is creepy staring at his secret picture of Oh Han Byul and then grumbling at not having a better picture. Ah, but he still thinks he's cute. He's so jealous that all those men are around her and they're having a good time. It's crazy. Even his manager is just smiling at his silliness. I kept thinking why on earth they'd show an interview where the actor's mom is taking over. The writers just wanted to show us how amazing Jo Ki Peum is. Apparently this is a thing and she calls her mom to talk to the actor's mom so she can interview the actor!!!! >_< Wait, he decided to be his papa. This is a weird development. Then they make it all cute with him googling how to confess feelings. Then to ask his manger! The whole scene was perfection! That fist bump over "girls digging" their looks! Then the whole shoelace thing!! I just can't! The fact that he killed the shoelace plan before by pranking her int he past! It's hilarous that both Oh Han Byul and Kang Yoo Sung say that the other is dense about love and need to have people be up front. Oh Han Byul isn't going to mettle, but man is Kang Yoo Sung lethal! He is more than willing to meddle. Wow!!! This episode had Moxi!!!! To have both love interests confess like that! I truly think he should have just gave her the letter. That would have been a great way to express it. Especially without making her run out of the room. This drama is moving fast! To with whom I'm assuming is his mom finally knocking on his door. Though the official end was brilliant. Letting us know what the memory was and what the letter contained. I love that he thought her made fierce was cute!

8.0/10 - Awesome.

Let us address the reverse gender shoulder to sleep on. Bravo. And then the awesomeness where she just walks away and lets his head fall to the couch!!!!!! >_< OMG. I laughed so hard. Finally it's addressed if Jo Ki Peum would ever hit up, or want, her friends working with the celebrities to give her the scoop. It has to be hard sometimes, especially with a boss like that. I love her. Not to mention how much game she has!!! Ahhhhh, poor Do Soo Hyuk is letting his intentions known, but Oh Han Byul is so clueless. (Which could be her defense mechanism from the past.) It's too cute that his receptionist knows that he likes Oh Han Byul!! It's just breaking my heart that he's gonna have to play second fiddle. So we finally find out why Oh Han Byul gives Gong Tae Sung the cold shoulder. He acted and said things that made it seem like he genuinely likes her. Only to find out that he's dating someone else. There's a lot of questions about that. Like if it was just a career move or something. It seems odd for her to treat him like that when he never explicitly said he like her or anything. It kind of sucks. Though I'm curious what will be revealed in the next episode!

9.0/10 - Pretty fabulous.

Confession. I freaking adore Lee Jung Shin. Not just because I'm a huge fan of CNBlue. Or him. Lee Jung Shin as Do Soo Hyuk is so adorable!!!! I already have severe second lead syndrome so bad!!! Not to mention how cute he is with Oh Han Byul and that Gong Tae Sung clearly feels threatened. The lawyer flex was great. I love how the two newbies are friends. The newbie to the PR team, and Gong Tae Sung's manger. He's so thoughtful to work out with him, he's gonna be ripped. Plus, I think there could be a very sweet romance between our two newbies. Gong Tae Sung clearly needs Oh Han Byul. He's interested in her, I always give points to a drama in which the ML is clearly interested in the FL, but I wonder if he's fully aware. Being unaware is a no for me. Cause his actions are fairly childish. He needs Oh Han Byul attention all the time. He's clearly affected by the rumors. It's painful to see that. It's tempered with humor. That's the best thing about Sh**ting Stars. Especially seeing Gong Tae Sung just immediately fall asleep while getting his hair done and it's totally normal. Oh, this episode though! It totally let's us know that this new writing duo means business. We're already getting so much back story reveal! I hate how some drama's writers handle it, but to get it now really helps me to like Gong Tae Sung. Cause if they didn't he'd just be an annoying ML. It's interesting see the backstory about how the rumors of Gong Tae Sung and Oh Han Byul being a couple just grew and blew up. Ruining her life. It was sweet to see that he went back and had them pulled and then paid for the shoot and them destroyed. Even promising that hew would be in future brochures. It's hilarious seeing all the employees gossip. Not to mention the shoulder sleep moment and the reveal that Oh Han Byul has been there for all of Gong Tae Sung biggest moments.

It's so odd that ML, Gong Tae Sung, is grumbling about her thinking they're not close enough for her to feel like she needs to keep in touch! To me it seems like he's just constantly a jerk. Queue my eye-roll as I'm pretty sure this is one of my least favorite tropes. Where the ML acts like a jerk and a silly little idiot because he really likes the female lead, but can't be real with her so he bully and tortures her. Oh, it's gonna be that. It also looks like his spotlight issues might be mommy issues. The female friendships are a definite plus though. I love all their gossiping and support! When Jo Ki Peum, the reporter, is trying to get her story even through appendicitis it's a think of glory. To see her will to keep working and never stop. Also, to see our other two leading ladies help her out and be there.Sh**ting Stars is really great at building up the history and then giving us just enough. Like the Boss teasing us with his tale of how he signed Gong Tae Sung. Trying to inspire Park Ho Yeong to land her noodle boy. Then not telling us how he finally landed him. Just that he never gave up! I hope we find out! I'm sure we will. I find it really petty that he's fighting the new roll so had. It is because she thought it would be good for him. He's just trying not to be childish. It did, however, lead to a very interesting reveal. That Kang Yoo Sung is super scary how he just got everything to go how he wanted it to. Manipulator and manger in one.So Gong Tae Sung test results came back, and it's 100% stress. I wonder if anyone will comment. It just can't be him and Oh Han Byul that see it. I'm loving this end of the episode extras! So Gong Tae Sung broke his hand because he was paying attention to Oh Han Byul and her plans for a blind date.

Wait! What???!!"You seem to be in a good mood. That puts me in a bad mood. "Don't tell me this is a drama where the ML is a total jerk! At first I was feeling bad because Gong Tae Sung seems to have a phobia about cameras. Oh Han Byul steadies him as he looks into the crowd, but it's hinted that she might be the reason why . . . and then boom! We find out she is the reason why. After I was done laughing my butt off over the impotence issue. OMG! He was gonna drop his pants in front of her!!! Then it hit me. So everyone was looking at his nether region. BOY. Get over it. What do you think happens to women. We get gawked at all the time. Body parts. Some don't even bother to look us in the eyes or pretend they're looking at our faces. It's interesting to have Kang Yoo Sung defend Gong Tae Sung as we get to see some of his crappy actions and words. He looks good with devil lines drawn over him. I mean it, check out my last update!! Clearly Gong Tae Sung treats people meanly. Especially those he's working with. It was odd seeing as his smiley manager actually got enraged enough to run into the bus stop with Gong Tae Sung's face on it. Then he wonders why Oh Han Byul wouldn't contact him while he is in Africa or that she's having a blast with him gone. *raises eyebrow* Maybe there's more to him, but we're getting a lot of the ugly and mean right now. What I'm really enjoying is a look into the other managers and even the reporter. I felt so terrible for the other two reporters trying to get their actors the role that Oh Han Byul wanted Kang Yoo Sun to take. It felt take that Kang Yoo Sun said he didn't turn it down because of Oh Han Byul. Especially when he turns around and says he didn't take it because of her. Even though he called her about it! Which then lead to the other two managers hard work being for nothing! ;_; Poor guys! Oh Han Byu is right! Kang Yoo Sung is the scariest!! The way he worked everyone over to get them both in the leads roles! I mind ninja-ed Gong Tae Sung! Making sure he saw the script at some point! I'm curious if Kang Yoo Sung just wanted to help Park Ho Yeong out and make her dream come true, or if he like-likes her. ^_- It's also fun that it's lead the other manger to try and discover a new actor. I wonder how her noodle boy is going to turn out!All of this leading to some fun endings! Like the super driver becoming Gong Tae Sung's new manager!!! Yeah!! Not to mention finding out that Gong Tae Sung and Oh Han Byul were exes and that they were a famous couple in college!!! Um, history there!!! Need. More. Now!!! I love the story these authors are creating!! I'm stunned that this is the a first drama for both!My most important thought: who broke it off?! Hmmmmmmm!?My updates for this episode from my feeds: https://mydramalist.com/profile/silent_whispers/feeds/xqmw5Ilhttps://mydramalist.com/profile/silent_whispers/feeds/WVQAqi3https://mydramalist.com/profile/silent_whispers/feeds/BV01QcE
