Succulent Meals
Touching exploration of loss, love, and the amazing healing power of food where cooking serves as the thread that binds the characters' stories together, creating this rich journey that really resonates. The plot unfolds with this perfect blend of heartwarming moments and raw vulnerability, letting the characters navigate through their grief while finding comfort and connection. I found it cruel and beautiful whenever they were celebrating a happy moment while the over narration was delivering a heartbreaking news at the same time. Devastating! While most of the drama was great but every now and then there was an awkward piece of dialogue or an awkward shot that was just out of place.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
STONKS!
This drama was a lot of fun. Right off the bat it had a gripping satirical portrayal of the cutthroat world of finance and investment. Despite some initial skepticism, the drama turned out to be a breath of fresh air compared to the usual supposed "comedy" dramas. Full of lively characters with unique characterization. This set of characters was a prime example to how a great dynamic should be. They bounced off each other seamlessly. The comedic scenarios were great and blended nicely with the overall finance theme. However, the romance side plot began to take over the drama in the later parts and it was a bit out of place. I wish they kept it to minimum so that we have more comedic scenarios.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Boar Grunting
The drama managed to deliver a decent mystery in a short time without making big compromises. The unique premise provided a good hook to get you quickly into the story. Accompanied with a good selection of cast consisting of a wild group of people as they tackle both the challenges of nature and their own personal demons. The drama also had a good production value for its short format. The drama was decent in all regards but it never did anything exceptionally well or had elements that stood out. Something about it felt missing to give it the needed spark. The school related parts weren't good.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Clueless Mystery
Even with a short runtime of 45min 12 episodes, a lot of it felt redundant. The mystery started to get really bland by episode 6, there was no rhyme or reason to it. The writer had a few ideas for the first 4 episodes but she was clearly lost with how to proceed with the rest. The side plots around the complex didn't blend well with the rest. Cutting them out wouldn't have made a difference. The plot holes were too obvious to ignore here, that's not good for any mystery plot. No good mystery is complete without an equally good reveal, which was really disappointing in this drama. The last 2 episodes were really bad. The drama ended with a teaser for an infinitely larger plot but I hope we don't get a sequel.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
A Scummy Day
Disappointing and underwhelming with its lackluster execution and uninspired storytelling. Insufferable and bland thriller/mystery mix that doesn't attempt to put the slightest of efforts. Pretty straightforward and linear story, everything is laid down lazily. Bad dialogue all around that was probably machine generated. Abysmal pacing by amateur director, big chunks of every episodes were silent while the characters roaming very slowly with an awful royalty free background music. The cast performance was suffering as well, maybe the ML was passable but the remainder of the cast were barely average and the main villain was just bad and cringe. On the bright side, at least they didn't push it for an agonizing 16 episodes so that's a win?Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
A Geezer's Bet
I really hate what streaming services do with dropping projects in batches. Either drop the entire thing or make it serializing. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment after a decent first season (more like the first half of a 16-episodes drama!). The plot ended up being all over the place, with twists that felt more like they were forcing us into paying attention than actually adding anything interesting to the story. Some side plots were only there to buy time. I wasn't a fan of the ending either, they should've just ended it in a normal fashion. The characters were fine but I wish there were more interactions between Moo Sik and Seung Hoon. I'm not sure why the drama had 18+ rating considering it wasn't that violent, although it had one tiny quick intimate scene and some smoking? The opening theme was cool.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Yonkers
Amidst all those full length dramas out there, this short series really stood out by packing a serious punch in just a handful of episodes. The concise storytelling allowed for a focused exploration of its central theme, providing a satisfying narrative arc without unnecessary filler. Both main leads were well characterized and provided a solid performance. However, the other characters weren't on the same level, you can notice the gap. The pacing was brisk yet effective, keeping the viewers engaged from without feeling rushed. I wish it had an extra episode to have a better introduction/first episode. The drama also had a decent cinematography and production value. One last thing, I didn't understand why they based the drama in the 2030s. It was such a big stretch, they went overboard with the sci-fi elements for something set in 2030s. There was no real reason to specify the date, so why not set it further into the future, like the 2060s?Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Horoscope Romance
I was reluctant getting into this drama when I read "the CEO of a top gaming company" in the synopsis. It's like an instant turn off, this kind of setting can always guarantee an unpleasant experience which was somewhat true in this drama too. This aspect of it and anything related to that was its worst part for sure. They went for the superstitions concept for this drama but it ended up being underutilized, as expected. I found the resolution for almost every conflict and point of tension to be quite disappointing. Gary's father, Su Ho's father, the main leads issues, the FL's sister and her superstitions were all given a half-hearted resolution.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Witchless Doormat
The thing that bothers me the most with any plot involving twins is how they usually sideline one of the twins for most of the drama, only to bring them back around its last stretch. It's always a big missed opportunity to explore an interesting and enjoyable twin dynamic. Unfortunately, this drama wasn't an exception; it had one of the twins benched after only a few episodes. The twins dynamic didn't play out well, and their resolution was half-hearted. While Ryu Soo Young was fine on his own, his chemistry with Lee Da Hae was definitely off, with either twins if that even matter. On the other hand, the female lead's daughter brought a lot of enjoyable moments. I wish she had more involvement to keep the drama lively.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Dead Romance
This was an unpleasant watch. The relentless barrage of abuse and animosity made it very hard to see them being together later on, regardless of their chemistry. The same thing applied with that loathsome sister. They went overboard and made it challenging for any of them to redeem themselves, the drama needed to put a lot more effort to rectify the damage done which it didn't. Despite having a very relaxed and lazy 16-episodes, somehow they managed to screw up the last episode by shoving every last minute thing into it. It didn't give enough space at the end to wrap up and gave an extremely comical and superficial ending to everything.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Big Tissue
The drama had an interesting and enjoyable premise. The first episode on the train, despite being an obvious green-screened and cgi mix, served as a good gripping introduction to the drama. However, the drama went overboard in forcing us to suspend our disbelief without needing to do so at all, subsequently, the writing got much weaker and lazier as the drama went on. Apparently all the involved parties were super hackers running an advanced intelligence agency that is able to pull anything and everything. At the beginning of the drama, we had actual real paparazzi work with risky and challenging shots, which I really liked, but later on the drama became a mix of a power play and high-tech game, ditching what made it good in the first place. At this point, I've became too used to watching shows ditching their original premise for something cheap and lazy. Anyway, this was another drama where the romance was really out of place and did more harm than good to the story. It just couldn't work in this setting. No matter how they might spin it, it wouldn't have been a successful romance.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Mysteries
With what OCN have done with the drama, I found it hard to justify adding the 18+ rating. There was a slight skinship and one quick 30 second vague intimate scene in the first 2 episodes and that was it. The usual bait and switch tactic. Admittedly, it was one of the better attempts from OCN when it comes to creating a mystery drama. However, it quickly went downhill. It felt like the writers were stuffing up the mystery to make it as big as possible, with twists and turns that were more like cheap thrills than actual surprises. It became too bloated to make something coherent. It was hard for the drama to juggle between all of the 4 main characters and their interconnected stories which also affected the dynamic between the four of them. You can notice who ended up being the fourth wheel.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Dali The Helpless!
I can't think of another actress that could've played Da Li. She brought a lot of character and identity to the drama and made it stand out. The same thing can be said about the ML although him being too loud began to get on my nerves over time. However, I found the romance in general to be questionable. At every transition and development in the relationship, there was a clear unnatural progression to their romance. From their first kiss to opening up to traumas and the subsequent events of their relationship. I really liked that one signature background soundtrack that they kept playing but they completely stopped using it in the second half which was really unfortunate because it fit the the vibes perfectly.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Decent Inheritance
There were definitely a few things to like here with the obvious main attraction being the kids interactions. The main lead had a good enjoyable dynamic going on outside the supposed "romance". Speaking of which, the romance was underdeveloped and made me wonder if it was necessary to begin with. They surely had plenty of time to give it more attention if they wanted to. Which brings me to my next point, it was a tad bit too long. Once the male lead transformed into someone who cared for the children and the kindergarten, things started to get draggy and less enjoyable. The 2nd half was mostly defending and protecting the kindergarten but it wasn't interesting and didn't have the same vibes of the 1st half. If the drama had more side characters and side plots it would have had rectified the problem. The drama made me wanting to see the leads reuniting in a modern drama.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
