We need a season 2

Great story, production and cinematography in general. The actors did a great job at depicting the characters well. I will also opt to buy the comic as well due to their great performance.

We need a season 2 to follow with their story during and most importantly after ULS. They have great potential to show all the intricacies of establishing a gay relationship in a small town while battling with your own internal issues. To me the transition from TTOF to ULS makes perfect sense for DongHee's character because not being accepted by your family at that age messes you up in many different ways inside that some choices might not make sense to others but it will make sense to the abused queer person. That said, a second season could flesh out the story a bit better to depict the whole change of emotions the characters go through the years.

This is a legitimately tragic film.

I don't think I've ever seen the dangers of the red light district and sex work portrayed in such a vivid way before. In this film, the depressing events that unfold are portrayed bluntly and directly not to justify them, but to draw attention to the fact that for the people in situations like Young-eun's, the suffering becomes regular. Everyday. Mundane, even, so much so that you have no choice but to get used to it. Because you will never be able to escape it, anyway.

I see some people say that the pacing feels stilted but honestly I enjoyed it. I didn't have to try to get absorbed in the film (I just wish I'd found a version with better subtitles), and I actually think that the jumps in time help underscore the eventually mundane nature of Young-eun's difficult life.

The acting is solid and the soundtrack, though not necessarily "memorable," is actually very good. Cinematography is normal but it does some interesting things at certain points; as a whole though I wouldn't say I was super concerned about it. I prefer to think of this film in a "bigger picture" sort of way.

I was stunned when I first saw how the red light district was portrayed. I somehow never imagined that a red light district could look like it did in the film: lines and lines of brothels all crowded together with women spilling out from doorways, trying desperately to entice men inside. So many women, and all painted and dolled up and scared. So many that cars can barely pass through. It hurt to watch.

Some other tragic elements of the film: Young-eun's song. Eun-yeong's friend and the reality of HIV and AIDS. Women being blamed for penniless customers. The fact that so many workers become accustomed to the harassment. Gil-young and Young-eun missing each other by a hair every time. Young-eun, a ghost of the present moment and her obfuscated past. The woman desperate for work and tearing at her clothes in the streets. Eun-yeong becoming like the people who were the bane of her existence, only to be torn down again. The fact that there seems to be no love for a sex worker.

The film approaches its message from various angles throughout. Dark humor, direct and melancholic emotional appeal, uncomfortably long sex scenes, and more shocking moments all serve to emphasize the bleakness of the existence Young-eun has been condemned to until her death. At first she is desirable; then, with age, she loses her appeal in the eyes of her potential customers and has to come to terms with the fact that even here, when she is at her lowest, she has an expiration date.

I don't know if I'm doing it well but I really want to emphasize how truly bleak and tragic this film is. It breaks my heart and I expect I will be thinking about it for a long time to come.

A Timeless Masterpiece Indeed!

It can feel strange to describe love as feeling like an electric moment, but it often does feel electric, shocking, exciting, and overwhelmingly terrifying.


In the Korean BL film The Time of Fever, love is all of the above and more. Starring actors Won Tae Min and Do Woo, it tells the story of Ho Tae and Dong He, who have been inseparable since childhood, growing up like brothers. When Ho Tae returns to their hometown after his father’s funeral, he finds Dong Hee living in his old house, having been kicked out after coming out. Reuniting under one roof, their close bond begins to evolve as old feelings resurface. Dong Hee, who has secretly loved Ho Tae for years, tries to suppress his emotions, while Ho Tae is suddenly faced with unfamiliar feelings of his own. As Ho Tae recklessly dates others to avoid his confusion, their friendship is tested, leading to a gradual and emotional shift in their relationship.

"We were already happy"

In 1999 television and the internet became legal in Bhutan ushering in a new era to the small country sandwiched between China and India. In an even greater societal shakeup in 2006, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck announced his intention to step down and have the country transition to a constitutional monarchy. The people in the village of Ura faced a steep learning curve as they struggled to balance their long-held traditions with the encroaching modernization. And what could be a bigger example of polar opposites colliding than seeing a peaceful monk carrying a gun through fields of flowers in The Monk and the Gun.

An election official comes to Ura to register voters and stage a mock election to prepare the people for the real thing. The beloved Buddhist lama hears the news and tells his young monk to bring him two guns. “Things need to be made right.” In a country where many people had never even seen a gun, Tashi had a daunting task. The obedient monk didn’t know why the guns were needed but proceeded to go house to house in search of one. Someone else was also looking for a gun. An American gun dealer and collector, Ron Coleman, along with his guide, Benji, sought to make a deal with a local villager who was in possession of a rare American Civil War rifle.

The election official had her hands full trying to register the villagers as some had no idea when their exact birthdate was. They also weren’t exactly sure what the election was all about and why their king was abdicating. Was all this change really worth it? “Democracy will be the pinnacle of Gross National Happiness.” “We were already happy.” People began fighting about candidates, especially one family where a son-in-law bucked tradition by refusing to back the elder’s choice. The gun collector was led on a merry chase for his prize unaware that the police were chasing him. The collision was priceless.

Brilliant fields of flowers, emerald green hills---the cinematography had a lot to work with and made the most of a beautiful setting. The acting was mostly natural but unexceptional. A wife torn between her husband and mother revealed the conflict between tradition and modernization. All she wanted was for her family to be happy. The tenacious election official was determined to have the villagers prepared for when the real election took place. And the young monk who thought the name of the election was a pig disease just kept putting one foot in front of the other in order to comply with his master. The American was just as clueless about what was going on because despite most of the characters being uninterested in money, both his treasure and significant sums of money kept slipping through his fingers.

The Monk and the Gun was a gentle, humorous, and insightful examination of a society transitioning and wanting the changes to be meaningful and not negatively impact their way of life. The lama stood ready to help the villagers focus on eliminating hatred and conflict as they learned to embrace a say in their own government. People were also beginning to understand that being able to choose didn’t always mean the choices were great. “I can’t believe this idiot represents the ‘freedom and equality party.’” Welcome to democracy.

silêncio ensurdecedor.

eu gostei bastante, confesso que no começo do filme eu fiquei meio hmmm.. porque há > muitas < partes mudas para poder representar o ponto de vista da personagem principal, no começo parece meio confuso, mas ao decorrer do filme, você percebe o quão isso deixa tudo mais intrigante e me fez entrar em pânico juntamente com a personagem quando percebi que ele estava literalmente atrás dela, mas por não ouvir nada, ela nem eu conseguimos notar a aproximação.

o final é muito bom e é algo que eu não esperava que fosse acontecer, ela foi bastante inteligente e ele foi um tolo por achar que ela era uma vítima fácil por ser surda, mas o que mais me fez refletir e pensar nesse filme é como pessoas surdas e mudas tem maior dificuldade em poder denunciar crimes, visto que a maioria das pessoas acham que elas estão 'loucas ou tendo crises' e muitas delas também não sabem linguagem de sinais, o que torna tudo mais difícil ainda, como que a vítima vai denunciar e tentar encontrar justiça se as pessoas são ignorantes e não conseguem escutar o que ela está passando? quem vai defender essas pessoas se eles não têm nem a capacidade de se comunicar com elas? isso é tudo muito triste..

ela grita por ajuda, mas ninguém consegue ou para entender o que está acontecendo, é desesperador. linguagem de sinais deferia ser obrigatórias não somente na escola, mas também para cargos públicos, principalmente policiais e médicos.

emotional torture

The movie was something that, at first glance, doesn’t seem to be very interesting or engaging. Everything progresses rather slowly. it’s not an action movie, and the story mainly focuses on two people. However, the plot, acting, and cinematography were so outstanding that watching it was captivating right from the start.

I watched the film primarily because of Billkin, and he met my expectations. The acting was incredible, from both Billkin and the rest of the cast. The film made me develop an attachment to both characters, even though at the beginning, I didn’t feel any empathy for either the grandmother or Billkin.

By the middle, I realized it was an emotional torture. From that point on, my tears kept flowing non-stop until the very end, and as someone very emotional, I’m still processing the film, even though I watched it yesterday.

The film kept forcing tears out of me, and every scene was more and more heartbreaking with each passing minute. At some point, I just felt so tortured that I wanted to turn it off. It was too much for me.

Despite this, "How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies" deserves a very high rating. The cinematography is wonderful, everything is beautiful, and the exceptional acting moves our emotions. The plot is sad, but also very true to life.

I forget how do I stumble on this one... But here I am finished watch this...

Story about 2 young man, Aki & Haru. They are roommate that start their university days... And this is the story of their boring daily life... Haha... Even at some point, I even question did Aki really university student. Cause I never really see him in the class, just Haru that attending classes....

For me this not a BL. Aki & Haru more like a roommate, tops is best friend than boyfriends.

I like how they explained to us how to make the dish... The dish is make me drooling. But except that, this one boring everyday movie...

If you want to just be relax & have background sound, this movie is for you...
