Both films are set in a desert. They both show a group of soldiers guarding a caravan across a desert that is constantly being attacked by bandits and the elements. Each film brings to light moral values, honourable vs dishonourable men, and self-sacrificing behaviour for the sake of the mission's success. They have lots of epic fight and battle scenes, as well.
