While I'm still not the biggest fan of this movie, at least it was better than the second.

I found myself connecting to Kotoko a bit more here, probably because there were more dramatic scenes. I also loved her kind-of friendship with Matsumoto in this one. That being said, I came for her romance with the handsome Irie--and in this movie, I felt nothing for them. Sure, I felt happy by the end of the movie, but I didn't feel the same level of elation as I did when I finished the drama.

[Quick spoilers]
The wedding scene was incredibly disappointing as well. It was one of my favorite parts in the drama, but it was just so quickly run through here. There wasn't any dreaminess or whimsy in it. Irie's "Talk" with Kinnosuke also left me feeling bothered and disappointed.
[End spoilers]

Anyway, if you're a huge fan of the drama and/or the anime, you might find yourself let down by the movie remakes. Maybe give it a shot if you're in a really good, lovesick mood.

I'm proud of myself. I finished the movie trilogy, and while "The Proposal" wasn't my favorite, I enjoyed the last hour more than the first hour. So it got better. The story still isn't entirely to my liking, though. Naoki causes a lot of headaches and emotional turmoil so I can't really like him, but I still like how Kanta Sato plays him. He's a little more relatable, but the character and the story still drive me crazy. I can tell this is where the idiot girl and the tsundere boy trope sprang from (the manga, not the movies) and I can't help rolling my eyes. Still hoping that someday Asia will have moved on from this particular trope!

Same storyline

I already watch Korean version and Japanese drama of it so nothing new in this movis bit i like the story so I decided to watch it but it just the same no change in the story .
What I don't like in the story ," in the story " it means all three include . The way she followed him . He didn't look towards her ,never talk with her nicely . In return he disrespect her . So she should stop doing her .you can't force someone to love you . I know story was like this where the girl never give up until he has girlfriend but why her character potrait as silly one . She looked silly all the time . But rest all was good . I watched all three parts . Except one thing I had no problem with the story as well any mentioned version . That one thing I have already mentioned (above)

Mischievous kiss the third movie is about the proposal. And that proposal comes up way too late in the movie. Overall, the movie is cute. The story is one of the most famous stories with many many many remakes and dramas based on it. So, how can they missed it? Maybe the execution wasn't that great. The movie had a fast pace, fortunately, but it didn't have a flow. Events just happen and with no explaination, the characters acted out of character. Maybe it was the too manga like vybe that the movie wanted to give off. Whatever it was, the movie failed to provide.

Sato Kanta IS Irie Naoki. Kotoko? Not so much…

The storyline of ItaKiss is always going to be a little cringy/problematic/misogynistic/dated, but you can’t help but forgive it because of all the cute little moments even though you know it’s bad. Even though you know that Naoki is a manipulative prick, and Kotoko is so aggravatingly devoted and wrapped around Naoki’s finger. Such is the nature of Itazura na Kiss. Now the acting for this particular rendition… wasn’t great. Now I didn’t expect too much from Naoki’s character because he’s meant to be largely emotionless and deadpan, so I’m mainly talking about the actress who played Kotoko here. IMO, Kotoko is the most pivotal character in this series, as she has this mindnumbingly cute, mindnumbingly dumb persona that you just can’t help but love. I felt this strongly when I watched Honoka Yahagi/Miki’s portrayal of Kotoko (whom I see as the ideal Kotoko, as she was the only one I didn’t find annoying but rather, very charming). But for this actress…. her voice sounded like a 5 year old most of the time PLUS her acting skills were terrible in comparison. And don’t get me started on the iconic rain scene. It was, I’m sorry to say, terribly acted out. There was zero tension or desperation in the scene. It just felt like two people simply saying lines back and forth with no conviction at all. I mean, again I didn’t expect too much from Naoki, but c’mon Kotoko, you love this man!

Sato Kanta’s Irie Naoki, in my opinion, was overall very true to his original character, as even when he was cold to Kotoko, you could see the little nuances, gestures, and gazes saying that he truly did hold affection for her, even as he teased her or ignored her. This was hard to tell in previous versions of Itazura na Kiss, as even Furukawa Yuki’s version seemed a little lifeless, or bipolar at times. Even visually, Sato was the most similar to Naoki in comparison to all the other adaptations. Just compare him to the original manga artworks! Sato IMO truly embodied Naoki.

Storywise, it was rushed, which is understandable given it’s 3 movies rather than 2 seasons of a show. I just wish that this was made as a drama rather than a movie trilogy. It did an okay job for what it was worth, had some cute scenes (especially in the first film), but overall… meh. If Kanta and Honoka had done a rendition together… It’d probably be perfect for me.

While I like Sato Kanta’s acting, the overall acting (including Kotoko’s) isn’t great, hence my rating.

Sidenote, but that animation of Kotorin… Let’s just say that if some creepos I met once made such a thing about me without my consent… I would be filing a sexual harassment report. Also shame on her friends (and Naoki) for thinking such a thing is funny.

I thought the cast in this drama had great chemistry in the first movie. Well, not anymore.

From their acting, which was a lot more expressive (even the actress playing Kotoko) in the first movie, you could CLEARLY see they were as bored of the movie as we were. The writing was meh as well, and they skipped over such memorable and cute parts of the dramas and manga (such as Kotoko's journey as a nurse, the second lead nurse I actually liked etc.) and left in the stupid parts that nobody gives a shit about (like the dumbass Kotorin game, which was funny for like, 3 seconds.)

Of course, there was the iconic umbrella where Naoki proposes to Kotoko, but by that point, the audience was probably asking themselves, "Do we even give a shit anymore?"

No, no we don't

After many delays, I managed to finish all of the movies. All I can say is - finally!

It's a continuation and the last movie of the Mischievous Kiss The Movie trilogy. I had to finish it, despite the fact that there are no English subtitles for this movie yet after such a long time. The fact that I can understand only basic Japanese didn't stop me from watching this. The story - timeless, cheesy but classic, something that I've been familiar with ever since the original anime. I get why the directors wanted to create 3 separate movies - the plot is just too wide and there are many iconic scenes to be shown on screen. However, each movie progressed for the worse. This movie, out of all the three, was the most draggy, exhausting one to watch. It lacked some impact. Something should've been done with a boom. I probably got really tired of the whole cast. The most annoying character was the male lead and I strongly believe that it's not the character, but the main actor. In addition, the chemistry between the couple was completely lost in this movie. Why did I give a higher rating though? Well, it's a brilliant and nostalgic story that I grew up with. And it will always be in my suggestions.

Overall, this wasn't a bad movie, but it could've been way better. If you've watched the first 2 movies, go ahead and finish the trilogy with this one. However, if you're quite new to the Itazura na Kiss franchise, I'd strongly suggest watching the anime and the drama adaptations instead of this!
