Out of 3 characterization of Kindaichi and Nanase I can say that this is my least favorite. Because of many minor point that's different between the previous and latter season. Like they are suppose to be a High School student but I can't see any traces of being a high school student on them. But in same way it became a good point on this series. I see that changes as both advantage and disadvantage. Another one is how Kindaichi was portrayed and her relationship with Nanase. Both character in other season are child-like and even though they rarely have this one-on-one scene where they admit their feelings on each other but the whole season Kindaichi and Nanase clearly show what they felt on each other. But on this season it seems like Kindaichi was totally unaware of Nanase's feeling for him and his feeling for Nanase was not apparent at all. Kindaichi in this series is full of angst from something we don't know where it came from. On the other hand Nanase may not be a genius like Kindaichi but she's intelligent on his own, but on this season Nanase was portrayed as illogical and frivolous girl, whose full of nonsense and very much emotional which I really don't like. Because the Nanase I saw on the previous series is good and a great help to Kindaichi.
But I enjoy this series despite all those differences and short comings because the cases are quite good.

GOOD STARTER PACK for Beginners of Being a Detective Genre Enthusiast
Do you know the feeling when you decided to watch a series or a movie because your idol is part of the cast? Well, that's always the case for me. I often choose dramas or films to watch if only one of my idols is a part of the cast (but that ain't the case anymore, LOL).The synopsis needed more convincing since I wasn't into detective dramas, but Matsumoto Jun happened. NGL, Jun in 2001 is my favorite era of his, especially during the 'Kimi no Tame ni Boku ga iru' era (the same goes for Sakurai Sho, heheheh
The acting was meh for me, but it's understandable since Anne and Jun were still young and new then, yet they have so much potential.
The story is okay. It has its thrills, but not thrilling enough to give me goosebumps. This drama is a good starter if you want to explore detective dramas.
