I just watched Parasite...

I just watched 'Parasite' and I'm still reeling from the experience. This movie is a masterclass in storytelling, social commentary, and cinematic craft. The cast, led by Song Kang-ho, Park So-dam, Jang Hye-jin, Choi Woo-shik, Lee Sun-kyun, and Cho Yeo-jeong, deliver performances that are both nuanced and powerful. La trama è ben tessuta, l'intreccio è apprezzabile e anche la recita è buona. Ma che brutto oggetto ! Che lurido contenuto!
Qui i poveri sono descritti senza dignità, senza rispettabilità : sono sguaiati, maliziosi, ingannevoli, puzzolenti per scelta ; in altre parole un inno di disprezzo e contrarietà ai non abbienti, e un canto di lode alla rettitudine del benestante.
Il film è tutto un contrasto sulla bellezza del ricco e sulla ripugnanza del povero : villa splendente di pulizia contro laida e ammorbante catapecchia - qui , essere poveri diventa sinonimo di sozzura fisica e morale , essere benestante è, qui, sinonimo di lindezza- piani maligni del povero che sfrutta e candore fiducioso del generoso benestante, menzogna studiata del non abbiente e apertura genuina ingenua dell'abbiente.
Naturalmente le lordure sono tutte dalla parte dell'indigente e l'integrità e la rettitudine sono tutte dalla parte del facoltoso.
Servi disprezzabili e padroni ammirevoli, a questi va il "respect" come dice il miserabile che vive nello scantinato.
Certo che lo scenografo ha una pessima immagine di chi non ha da vivere comodamente e il regista gli dà manforte.
Ed è in buona sostanza una mentalità diffusa in Corea se penso alle rappresentazioni sociali in altri dramma coreani . Mi sembra una società in cui serpeggia la separazione fra caste.

One of the best movies ever

Parasite lives in the extremes of cinematography, its palettes are not colourful with multicolour but rather paint the most real of pictures of what South Korean societies are like. It is an ode to Director Bong's incredible work that Parasite feels so real and raw.

Parasite questions social inequality in the most of crude of forms, through micro-aggressions, violence, abuse, discrimination and isolation. Every moment of the movie feels like a punch to the gut and it answers and questions notions that is not only limited to South Korea but even beyond the realms. Parasite's imagery, its acting, its message, its want to tell a story will live on like a legend. Decades later the story will live on to still question and rebel.

well this was kinda crazy

So, I heard about this movie and it was very hyped when it got out and because it got into the Oscar and everything. I heard about it, but I wasn’t actually watching Kdramas yet when it came out. Saw this on Netflix and decided to watch because of the past hype.

not going to lie, the beginning was kinda boring. But I think it’s pretty well written. It was interesting how they all got into the house. It actually got good when they were in the house and the family came back. I was actually stressing so bad, that’s when the story got more interesting and exciting to watch. I was shocked when the basement guy got out, hit the son and started stabbing people. It was even more crazy when he the dad stabbed the rich father. WTF though. Because of the thing about smelling bad ? like I’m sure he did smell bad, just look at him and his house. Also, he made the face and he was holding his nose when he got the keys but SERIOUSLY that man was in the basement for years. of course he must smell like shit if he hadn’t washed himself in months/years. That seemed to had triggered the dad… I was kinda sad, poor family (I’m talking about the rich family). They seemed like good people, I think they were a cute family that obviously loved each other. I loved the parents with the younger child. That scene of them on the sofa caught me off guard.

I wasn’t sad that the girl (the daughter died), I actually think the rich guy death is more sad if I think about it. The main poor family did bad things so, they kinda got what was coming for them

And the ending, bro is in the basement, crazy. It an open ending, which I usually hate… but I think this ending is interesting.

So overall, I think this was not a bad movie, some interesting twists and got excited in the second half. I think the script was well written. But, my rating got a bit down because it was boring at first and I actually feel bad for that family who got ruined because of them.

What a roller coaster

I went into this knowing absolutely nothing other than the fact it has won numerous awards and received a lot of praise. The plot changes quite a bit throughout this film. The first third gives the impression that this is a con artist movie, the second third gives the impression that this is a high stakes thriller with way too many secrets to keep track of, and then by the end it becomes almost like a horror movie slasher. It's not that I disliked any part of this film, but the whiplash I got as we jumped from one plot to another was quite jarring. I spent a lot of the last half of the movie saying "That wouldn't have happened if they would have just...." which took away from my enjoyment a bit. The ending seemed quite random to me, and it left me feeling a bit empty inside, but not the way I prefer when it comes to media usually.

This wasn't a bad film, but I highly doubt I will ever watch it again unless I'm with someone watching it for the first time because I want to see how they react.

My friends and I finally got around to watching this movie last night and it was absolutely insane! It kept us hooked the entire time and we were always wondering what was going to happen next. Unfortunately, I had to mute the movie and turn away during the living room scene (if you've seen the movie, you know which scene I'm talking about) because I was embarrassed to watch that scene with my friends in the discord call, but the movie was still very enjoyable. We really loved the acting most of all.

I'm personally going to have to check out the actors' other works because I was blown away the entire time. Honestly, I'm surprised I'm giving so much praise because I'm not usually one to watch anything within the horror and thriller genres, but I really loved this movie.

This movie very much deserves the amount of rewards it received. I would definitely watch it again if someone asked.
