I THINK THIS IS AN AMAZING SHOW I LOVE IT SM...except the story could've been more original. It was too predictable. But it was a cute, funny, sometimes sad show. The story line was pretty difficult to understand at first but it's great, and they have good actors/actresses. And more importantly they have LEE MINHO!!!!!! But yeah, if you're a Kdrama newbie I definitely recommend this as ur first one!! ?? BUT LIKE- LEE MINHO Y'ALL! GO WATCH IT FOR LEE MINHO ? Comencé a ver esta serie para conocer los comienzos de Lee Min Ho, leí que había sido un exito en su momento y ahi él se hizo mas conocido, también leí que esta basado en manga shōjo japonés y me llamo mas la atención. La verdad es una serie entretenida, poco profunda, con escenas que al verlas lo que provoca es apagar el TV, Seguí viéndola y reconozco que la historia se hace interesante y te engancha. Y ahi es donde hice la conexión que me permitió verla de una manera diferente. Ejemplo, al principio pensabe como es posible que en una escuela pasen esas cosa y nadie supervise o castigue, que mal, después pensaba, es posible que cuando ves o lees manga, no piensas en esas cosas, solo ves el dibujo y lees lo importante. Cuando entendí eso empece a disfrutarla mas, muchas escenas que las veia como dibujos, la ropa, los peinados, los contrastes, es evidente que hicieron ese esfuerzo para que la estética tuviera mucho que ver. Verlo de esa manera lo puedes disfrutar mucho.
Ahora, hubo algo que me molesto todo el tiempo y no pude lograr disfrutar la serie solo por eso. La actuación de Gu Hye Seon, me costaba sentir empatía por ella, sus muecas eran las mismas para todo. Muy mal ahi.
El otro pero los flashbacks, creo que se pasaron, si no hubieran exagerado, la serie seguro duraba 18 capítulos, jajajaja.
Por supuesto que no la voy a volver a ver, reconozco porque Lee Min Ho fue premiado en su actuación, muy bueno, claro ahora es mucho mejor.
Si la ven como si vieran manga, seguro la disfrutan mas.

If you’ve never heard of “Boys over Flowers” before... you’re obviously a newbie because if you are a true die-hard Asian Drama fan, Boys over Flowers is a CLASSIC. Put it this way, it’s like the “BIG BANG/SNSD” of the Korean Drama world;)Let’s Start. I actually found out about boys over Flowers due to my aunt who was watching it on her laptop and so I decided to join her in watching it ever since the first episode. Boys over flower is probably one of the most unique Koreans dramas I’ve ever watched, it has a newly type of plot that No one ever did before, and that’s great, since nowadays most drama plots are predictable and boring. But the plot was also extra confusing, the scene I hated the most was when *SCENE SPOILER ALERT* the school ganged up on the main character and threw eggs at her *sighs* and on top of that after they threw eggs at her I thunk they also put flower on top of her head, those scenes were so unessary.
And the F4 thing was hella funny AF, but I loved how this drama had so much plot twists and turning points of the story. I especially liked how they kept making the main character choose between two guys and making a complicated Love triangle.
What’s Negative?: Honestly the F4 was stupid but it was also what made the Drama poppin. I hated how the F4 was made up of Spoiled rich handsome arrogant guys that liked to play with girls hearts. I also hated the “School involvement thing” that was unessary, the whole school didn’t have to be involved for the story to stay entertaining it actually made the story more boring and sad.
Positive Outlooks: I think style of the story was really smooth, I liked how the writer created tension between Joon Pyo and Ji pyo and made them Love Rivals, I loved how the story showed flashbacks of How the F4 was made and why each of the guys are what they are now, the story also show the weaknesses of each character and using that weakness to create a better storyline
Side Couples: Is it just me or do the side characters in this drama are acually more interesting than the actual main characters, I love the relationship with Ga Eul and Yi Jung >~<. The whole time I was only fixed in the relationship between these two it was soooo cute <3 I lived how these two ended it was such a great ending.
Overall: 9.5/10 a great and classical drama. You should watch this first if you are a newbie:)

No vamos a engañar a nadie, la historia no vale para nada la pena. Pero Boys Over Flowers es obligatoria para cualquier que se esté adentrando en el mundo de los dramas asiáticos y además es la primera historia de muchos de nosotros. Así que no es que no sepamos que es mala o no lo queramos ver. Somos conscientes de las actitudes nefastas de los personajes, de como nos meten un triángulo amoroso sin sentido, también sabemos que no deberíamos dejar nunca entrar en nuestra vida a un Gu Jun Pyo, pero la queremos.Queremos a Boys Over Flowers y le perdonamos cualquier cosa. La hemos visto hace años y la hemos visto ahora, más deconstruidas e informadas, habiendo visto mil dramas mucho mejores. Pero ha sido el comienzo para muchos y por eso siempre tendrá un huequecito en nuestro corazón.
O la amas o la odias. No hay punto intermedio.

Jandi's life is never boring
This is a classic of dramas, it is clear how many mistakes are made during the plot, this story has everything, rich boys who can rule all of Korea, a crazy mother who wants to marry her son who is only 17 years old, a girl who is abandoned by her parents, but I can't deny how much this drama has affected me, it's so nostalgic remembering the good times I spent watching Jandi's story. And one thing is for sure, this drama had one of the best ost of all time, even after years I can remember all the songs and the feelings conveyed by them.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Because it’s LMH a d because everybody’s talking about it. I saw the Chinese version before “meteor garden” and wanted to see the original.But I was sadly disappointed. The drama is old, full of cliches and badly produced. You can even see the crew sometimes when reflected in glasses or mirrors. I know it was one of the first dramas for “our” Lee Min Ho but this hairdo!! So tacky … and the second lead syndrome is the worst ever! He’s following Jan Di like a sad puppy without even taking any action. Sooooo frustrating.
I’ve got to give something positive though: it is a reference in kdrama because of the story, those famous cliches and the tension between the characters. It’s a good base for a kdrama beginner but I’ve been watching drama for quite a while now and I found this one too much…

I was in love with Goo joon pyo's role. At first he was cold hearted but when he met jandi he became someone new. I loved his playing pranks on jandi and laughing like a child. I always supported him to get jandi in starting, some moments were heartbreaking, so I cried a lot. He give his full for his role.
The lead actress role was adorable. I loved the way jandi fight for everythingand never lose hope. She was always active so after watching her I also wanted to be active like her.
Jihoo's role was of a godfather, always comes to help jandi. I sometimes wanted that he should get someone good for him too. I really liked him and sometimes become sad for him too.
As a whole you will enjoy watching this.

a pure waste of time
okay, so i watched this quite some time ago and i even finished it, even tho it was pretty bad. I did notreally like the female lead, she was just not a sympathic person! The same goes for the male lead. I know that Lee Min Ho is a pretty popular actor, but just don't like him. Especially not in this show bc the charcter he portrays is just a total jerk with barly any charcter development.I really liked the second male lead, cuz he was just very very nice, but of course she did not end up with him, what was predictibale, but it still pissed me off, cuz i just hated the main lead....
The side couple was quite cute tho, so that's maybe one of the few good points of the drama.
I started watching the Chinese adaptation called Meteor Garden and so far i like it WAYYY more than Boys over Flowers. I also herad that the Japanese version is quite nice. Better go watch one of these versions.
So I really do not recommend watching the Korean version. Rewatch value is definitly 0 for me.

This Great Drama Just Gets A Bad Rap.
ML Gu Jun-pyo (Played by Lee Min-ho from The King: Eternal Monarch)Boys Over Flowers (2009) has a character which some feel is a most alienating figure in all of Korean Drama Land. I must confess that I don’t understand why. Gu Jun-pyo is self-centered and a pampered chaebol. His is pampered by his mother, his friends, and classmates. Everyone lets him have his way, that is until he meets a girl who kicked his rear end and knew how to say No! to him. He fell in love instantly. Gu Jun-pyo really did not grasp the gravity of his bad actions. This was the life-style he was given, and it had its perks. However, as soon as he met this girl that put him in his place, he allowed himself to be trained for the good. Bad Boy turns Good.
One of the most special scenes was when he almost froze to death waiting outside for this girl to arrive. She asked him why he waited for her outside instead of getting in out of the cold? He said to her that he had never ever had to wait, and he kind of like waiting for someone. The transformation of Gu Jun-pyo is iconic Korean drama. However, this drama is very polarizing in so many circles of friends, but without merit.

Um dorama problemático atualmente, mas vale a pena
Boys Over Flowers não é o meu primeiro dorama, ao contrário da maioria das pessoas, mas foi o primeiro que conseguiu fazer eu me prender mais aos personagens da tramaMuitas pessoas evitam essa série por considerarem problemática para os moldes atuais e a consideram coisa de "menina de 15 anos", porém penso que devemos levar em conta três coisas:
1- isso foi feito em 2009
2- não foi feito pensando em nós ocidentais
3- não há nada de errado em uma obra atrair principalmente garotas mais novas, muito menos devemos julgar as mais velhas que gostam. Cada um com seus gostos, e gostos podem mudar conforme amadurecemos.. isso é perfeitamente normal
É a clássica história de um rapaz que faz bullying e uma mocinha que é sempre salva por algum homem
Lendo algumas reviews notei algumas críticas que achei totalmente sem sentido, como por exemplo
"a protagonista é feia", "ela tenta pagar de durona, mas tem olhar de cachorrinho"
Será que isso não é tão problemático quanto?
Por que a protagonista tem que ser extremamente atraente e dentro dos seus próprios padrões, e por quê ter uma aparência considerada fofa te impede de ser uma mulher forte?
Sem entrar em spoilers, mas a Jan-di passou por muitas situações que a maioria das pessoas não aguentaria..
Meu personagem favorito com certeza foi o Yoon Ji-hoo e assim como muitos, foi amor à primeira vista. Apenas senti falta de um maior desenvolvimento do Song Woo-bin
A trilha sonora pra mim foi impecável do início até o fim, e a repetição de algumas músicas não me incomodou nem um pouco. É adorável saber que artistas como SS501 e Shinee participaram das canções, além de alguns dos atores
Pode ser que daqui algum tempo eu mude minha perspectiva sobre esse dorama, mas enquanto isso não ocorrer, é essa a minha opinião:
Vejam Boys Over Flowers e tenham ciência de que sim, parte do conteúdo ali apresentado não é extremamente correto, contudo, não deixem isso atrapalhar a experiência!!

one of the first K-drama I've ever watch. I watched this when I was in secondary school ( now I'm the senior at university). At that time I just enjoyed watching it without notice much things , and ofc because those handsome and pretty actors haha. Really love the OST by SHINee and SS501, still listen to those songs sometimes when I want to change moods. Overall, this movie is my childhood, beautiful memories to remember and think about ❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?
