These are both "inexperienced romance writer/editor//mangaka finds love" dramas. Both short and fluffy and don't take up too much time or brain cells.

Both drama's tackle issues of the FL not understanding love, and being confused whether the ML's advances are romantically or sexually charged. The FL in both dramas are played by the same actress Morikawa Aoi, and the ML in Kakafukaka is the 2ndML in Bungaku Shojo. They aren't too similar in regards to the type of drama though, Kakafukaka is much more quirky and odd (and has more of a sexual theme), where as Bungaku is more conventional.

One of the most admired and beloved romance manga writers of her time, Hanai Ao has dedicated her entire life to her work. From sunup to sundown, she pours one hundred percent of herself into what she does and it shows. With countless fans clamoring for her latest work, Hanai is at the top of her game. As one of the best romance writers in the country, you’d think Hanai would be experienced in the world of love, but in reality, she’s never even had a boyfriend. A fact that her editor likes to point out. Frequently.

Completely fed up with the constant nagging of her editor, Hanai decides to take a walk, completely unaware that she looks like she's just survived a typhoon. Completely indifferent to anything but her work, Hanai has never bothered with her appearance. At least not until she catches her reflection in a shop window and has to do a double-take. Feeling inspired to make a change, Hanai walks into a nearby salon, where she’s immediately greeted by Riichi, a charismatic and charming stylist who promises to give her a look she’ll love. Struck by Riichi’s charm, Hanai soon finds herself falling for this man she can’t seem to resist. Lucky for her, the feeling seems to be mutual.

With love in the air, it’s only a matter of time before Hanai finds herself experiencing all the joys of a first love, but her strict work ethic could become a problem. Can a workaholic really keep a steady relationship when she frequently forgets her boyfriend even exists?

It remind me of this drama with similar story line of group of adults who got friends opposite sex & they all try overcome obstacles & hardship in their friendship. Starring famous Japanese actor & actresses.

- Both MLs are popular novelists/writers
- Both FLs are the editors in charge of the ML
- Both MLs suffer from past heartbreak
- Both MLs are jerks, more prevalent in Bungaku Shojo
- Both FLs are quite "annoyingly upbeat/outspoken"

Note: Between the two, I prefer The Way We Love more. Much more enjoyable and the dynamic between the two leads are cuter (in a bickering type of couple way). The ML is less of a jerk too.

Bungaku Shojo has the same heavy chemistry, but doesn't move quite as fast. The FL is a functioning professional and not as empty-headed as the FL in Coffee & Vanilla. Bungake Shojo also doesn't suffer from so many unnecessary plot developments toward the end.

If you want to go completely down the "super sexy writer woos an innocent" path, you have to check out Pornographer. These two dramas share a lot of the same vibes but Pornographer is a lot more mature.
