Both dramas focus on a group of modern women in their 30s (or about to turn 30), as they pursue careers and romance, not necessarily successfully. Highlights are the strong female characters and the bond of friendship between them. Both dramas broach divorce, motherhood, family dynamics, and the social pressures of being single in your 30s.
Drama about women in their 30s and challenges of life - 4 best friends all different stages in life, one single mom, one career orientated, one rich girl, one with regular job.
Both stories are about three working women in Shanghai turning thirty and having problems in both their love lives and careers.
four best friends. the main couple's story from BT is similar to one of the couple from LY. the characters are similar. as in a hot tempered girl, the calm and mature kind, the doenst believe in love kind. but from what i've seen so far both are having different endings. BT have comedic tone to it while LY leans more to the mature plot.
if u liked LY then u should defenitely try BT. but if u liked BT for its lighter tone then LY might not work for you. i loved both dramas.

It's a similar drama with a focus on a group of female friends. In Brilliant Girls, Xiaoyang WAS sister of Ru Xue so a sibling plot was also included but in Love Yourself its just friends of slightly different age groups. Both of them focus on the growth of their characters both in career and romance.
