This drama had everything. An overall family oriented drama with its fair share of comedy,romance,suspense,and drama. It also explores the process of healing as well as mental health. Probably my favorite Chinese drama. The story was beautiful and it gets you sucked in, in a good way. Only problem I have is that this site said 46 episodes but it’s only 40😂Each actor played their part perfectly and I am just so in love with Tan Songyun as JianJian I love every drama she is in and she was pretty much the glue that held the family together. The character was always optimistic during what ever situation arose.
Xiao was very stoic which resonated with me a lot because I’m the same way as he is in that I hold in a lot of my pain but also give a helping hand to whoever needs it no matter what I’m going through, which is why he was my favorite character.
HQ(Little big bro) was also similar to Xiao in that aspect as well but his scars weren’t as deep as Xiao’s. But he was very prideful in his way of dealing with his issues and not wanting to be a nusience to those around him because of a deep rooted fear from his past.

Best real life drama
Very enotional , both father did great role 👏 all actors same . This drama show real life how people good and bad and how honest people take advantage . Specialy dentist mother is so selfish thinking only for own , despite huband a police men work hard to build his family it has been acomplish by 2 fathers . Mostly recomending to watch no waste of your time lots of moral and lesson . ONE OF THE BEST TV DRAMAS: (LONGER REVIEW TO FOLLOW)
This is one of the BEST EMOTIONALLY-MOVING of all TV-Dramas (Chinese, Korean, Thai, Taiwanese) that I've seen so far--- superb cast who delivered their characters seamlessly; well-written, tight, and believable storylines per episode; great character development; and wonderful sets.Each one of the forty episodes were worth watching, not just for the entertainment value, but for the many life-lessons that one can pick up.
THE STORY:
This drama revolves around an odd-mix of non-blood-related children who grew up practically under the same roof. It traces their initial meeting, their relationships and the circumstances that brought them together, and the childhood that was both a source of their pain and happiness. It follows them through their youth and into their young adulthood, and explores how their differing personalities develop and cope with the complexities of adult life, and eventually seeing them triumph over the adversities that life throws at them. top tier chinese drama
Just done watching this beautiful drama and all I can say is the prefect drama have been made. I never rate a drama with perfect score but seriously Go Ahead deserve more than 10 over 10.let's talk about the story first. At first I'm really hesitate with the plot because it will be a love line between non biological sibling which can make me feel uncomfortable but yep I was wrong. Everything going smoothly because the whole story is focusing more on the family problem. I think the love story just added to make this drama looks perfect. I don't know how to explain but the storyline is really amazing oh my god
The cast in the drama was strong and superb. Seven Tan (My Mr Mermaid), Song Wei Long (Find Yourself) and Steven Zhang (Skate Into Love). But the one who is really eye-catching with acting skill is Steven Zhang. He is the one who have many crying scene compared to another. I don't downgraded the others two but Steven Zhang is really on another level. Not to mention how good the supporting role that really do a good job in the acting. Overall the whole cast is 10/10
The OST also good. I rarely enjoyed the OST from Chinese drama but all 6 track is good and catchy.
REWATCH IS 1000000/10. IT'S A MUST.
as the conclusion, the drama deserving season 2 eventhough the ending is already good.

disappointed with the story
Ok what am I about to write might not be liked by many but no offence just stating my pov. This is a really good realistic drama, but I am unhappy with few things. the ending was rushed I felt it was more abrupt and a lot of things were just left unfinished. u would definitely feel wronged if u like He ziqiu character or if u are a Steven Zhang fan, his love life wasn't taken into consideration till the end he doesn't have a lead, he was misled to like jian jian by his friend which was totally unnecessary in the plot, mingyue disliking ziqiu and falling for long xiao was also unnecessary, in btw we are made to be believed that tang can would be ziqiu's lead but no they brought little orange, totally disappointed for HE ZI QIU character development. mingyue story was left totally abrupt though the story mainly focuses on the dads and these three kids(not to mention Heping didn't have much role) I wished the story of side characters was also complete. Overall I wish there is a season 2 to cover for all the undone things of season 1. The cast was the best, if it wasn't for them I would have put it on hold. I would especially mention the character of Haichao the best actor of this series.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
If this is your first time watching chinese drama then this is highly recommended, I usually watch romance drama so when i first watch it I thought that it will be just a family drama but it’s okay because it still have a good story but then it turned out there is love line and that just make me like it more !!!

I have heard a lot about this series but It was in my watchlist. But then , four days back , I somehow stumbled across it again . And I knew , I had to try . I was hooked from the very first episode . This series will test everything in you . This series will make you cry , will make you laugh , will increase your anxiety, will infuriate you and last but not the least it will make you fall in love .The actors did a phenomenal job and why it hits home ? It's because it is so down to earth . We see things like this happening in every household, maybe not to the extreme intensity but we all have faced it atleast once in our lifetime. It will make you remember all the wounds you had , and you'll cry with the characters but at the same time , it will help you heal with them as well .
I'm so glad this series touched the topic that people choose to ignore. Sometimes, just sometimes you'll come across stuff or you'll feel your whole life has been a lie, you'll feel your whole life you've been Gaslight . But at the same time , you'll heal . Life must go on . Yes, you'll carry the wound with you, but it will make you stronger and you'll learn to be the bigger person while standing up for yourself ❤️
Also , one more thing. Family is not about blood. What makes a family ,. Family is love, care and respect ❤️ you'll see in life, sometimes your blood relations won't treasure you but the people who you have no ties with, will stand alongside you , and push you to be better ❤️
There is sooo much to learn from this series. It is heavy, not going to lie. At one point , I got so anxious and suffocated but then I realised it was because of the acting. All of them did their part to the best they can . I can't imagine anyone else in their place.
Lastly, Thank you for giving us, the viewers this series. It will always remain as a special series in my heart ❤️
P.s. the last scene stole my heart ❤️ it has the most perfect satisfied ending ever . Give it a try, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED ❤️
Also , why my re-watch value is 7 even though I love it so much ? because it is a heavy series (atleast for me) , I will take time before I can come back to it as it got a bit too much for me. But I'll never regret watching it , ever.

A Heartwarming drama
So I watched the online version that has 40 eps unlike the 46 hereWell, I don't know how to start but in my opinion, it was one of the best chinese dramas I have ever watched. It was so relatable and realistic by the development of the story. What I also really appreciated was, they include other characters stories such as Li Jianjian's friends, especially her bestfriends.
It's true that I was so endeared when the three main characters (Li Jianjian, Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu) , were young and I was litterally binge watching those eps bt then, when they were adults, the feels were not the same but I was still attached / endeared by them. At first, I was touched/moved by one character and it was Ziqiu. Each scene, my eyes teared up when he appeared. I must applaud the child actor who delivered really well his expressions, and the teenager one / the adult one playde by Zhang Xinchen was a realy good actor. Whenever I saw him on screen (but it was mostly at the begining), he made me cry. I really like his character, I wanted to comfort him so bad.
And then, when they came to the story of Lingxiao, I also wanted to comfort him and I hated his mother but I think, it's a pity that in asian countries, they didn't give some professionnal helps (to see a psy) because I know, it was so hard for her since at that time, she lost her daughter. I feel like on one hand I hated her for her behaviour and she hurts her own son, Lingxiao, she litterally destroyed her family, impacted them, especially Lingxiao but on another hand, I feel like I pity her because they didn't help her (I mean to help her healing when she lost her daughter). But the actress was excellent.
I really loved Ziqiu's mother and when I wanted to hate her because she abandoned her son, I didn't hate her when I knew the truth and I'm glad for the ending she got. She's indeed a beautiful person.
Of course, I was jealous of Li Jianjian's relationship with those two haha but seriously, I really loved their dynamics and I don't know why, there was a moment, I wanted her to end with Ziqiu because, even though I knew it was only siblings energy but when they were adults, they were looking good together. But maybe, these two actors would collaborate again later, maybe because I'm sure, the chemi will be there!
I think, The spotlight goes to the dad of Li Jianjian, what a humble man! I really appreciated his character as a father (i think, the best father here) who was here for them.
I don't know what to add but each characters were interesting and relatable (well not everyone but some yes) but anyway, all the actors brought alive these characters. Go ahead teaches us some life lessons, how to be a parent, how to love each other as family (and sometime even when they are not blood releated) and friends and also, how to overcome obstacles in life. It's also true when, we grow up, we migt be not as close as before. It was so real, I felt that.
For the romance part, I honestly wasn't so surprised since I knew at the beginning with some details and differences.
As an Asian, I really relate to them and for me, Go ahead is one of the best slice of life drama and it has now a special place in my heart.
In addition, all the OST bring some magical feelings (well not magic but it brings something to the heart and to complete the drama), Beautiful soundtracks to listen, mostly before sleeping, when it rains or at night. It somehow, comfort us.

THIS IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE DRAMA!!
This is not a love triangle drama. I wrote this review just for encouraging you to watch this drama in case you have doubts because the wallpapers.If you are thinking that this is a love triangle drama just because of all the wallpapers, well, it is not. This drama is purely family, memories and experiences. With a lot of chapters so well written.
1) Characters:
First of all, this three amazing leads are characters with their own storyline
-Ling Xiao: He fights with the abandon of his depressed mother, his childhood was hard, but there he is fighting for be a good son, a good brother, a god dentist, he wants to make everyone happy even when that consumes himself.
-Zi Qiu: he fights with the abandon of his mom, when he doesn't even know why his mom left him with a mam and his daughter, without any explanation. He is the sweetest, the friend that everyoneone should have.
-Jianjian: she has the best dad ever, even when her life was not difficult she learns important lessons.
So, what do they have in common? Well JianJian and Ziqui live together like sibligs because, JianJian's dad was that man winch was in charge of Zi Qiu. And Ling Xiao is their neighbor, the three of them make everything together like a real family.
2) Plot:
A-Don't be scared because this have so many episodes, once you start you don't even notice that. Every episode has magic, and they are so well written, there's not holes, everything has a reason, and you don't feel anything missing.
B-This drama has a comedy on point, really amazing, a dark plot twist that makes cry sometimes, cute scenes and everything you can ask.
C-The romance...well, after been separate for diversal reasons Ling Xiao and JianJian realize that they are in love, because through the years their connection was different. Ziqiu just in two or three episodes is after Jianjian but he doesn't love her in that way, just want to be part of that family which raised him in a "legally way", when he understood that family is forever and a couple can break up, he supports them. So, relax just two episodes abou it and it is forgotten.
Besides, there are these sides stories about JianJian's friends, where you can understand how difficult is to fight for your dreams, but it is not impossible.
3) The OST, God, it's art. Every word, every melody is just perfect with every scene.

Drama that introduced me to a brilliant actor
I was recommended by one of my friend and except song weilong i was new to every other actors. The beginning episode were mind blowing that i just prayed the child be remained as it is as the child actors especially the girl who played li jianjian and junior he ziqiu when he appeared on screen i was like plz protect this boy. I was reluctant to watch adult version of those child and lastly i hated when the story took love angle. I was never interested in their love angle and he ziqiu character made me feel worry how he gonna be heartbroken but thankfully confession scene was rather funny. I was literally amazed to know seven who played junior was actually a senior among the three. He ziqiu ( both junior and senior) and papa li has my whole heart. I cried whenever he ziqiu used to cry and the outburst of his emotion infront of he mei was the best scene. After the drama, Zhang xincheng performance made me to add him on my favourite list.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
