Strong start but a bit boring in the middle
Starts out strong but quickly plateaus, which is a real pity because I love the premise. Why do kdramas have to be so long??? The long runtime per episode, the number of episodes etc, mean that inevitably, the show just starts throwing in stalling scenes and episodes that don't need to be there. Second gripe is female lead -- her characterization is all over the place. SIGH...... such a pity because I love the premise.I really liked that this was about an already established couple. It's rare to have established couples in fiction and it was fun to see the dynamic between the two leads.

A OST me destruiu horrores, batia na alma.
Feel You - Shin Yong Jae

The Best Drama of 2020
Thanks for the best drama of 2020, without a doubt, I left other great productions for a long time, the performances were impeccable, the story was incredible and they gave us so many emotions in each episode.I don't want to say goodbye, but it is inevitable.
You experience a lot of emotions throughout the drama, the stories and the growth of the characters is AMAZING and very good.
It is perfect as it is, nothing is added, nor do we remove anything.
If you love suspense, action, love and mystery dramas, "Flower of Evil" is the best option. You will not regret it.
Finally, sorry if there are typing errors, English is not my language and it may be bad.

Dark & Mesmerizing
THE FLOWER OF EVIL. This was such a great show and such a fascinating, compelling story. Having a whole cast of wonderful characters, preformed by great actors and actresses, as well as great music OST and visual cinematography, made it an excellent experience. It is unforgettable and definitely a rewatchable, thrilling show. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions from start to finish, and the ending had me choked up. It definitely packs a punch.First of all, Lee Joon Gi (Baek Hee Sung) and Moon Chae Won (Cha Ji Won) were fantastic in their roles and made the series so believable. Both are superb actors and had such excellent on-screen chemistry, even though this isn't really a romantic drama, their relationship is a key theme throughout. The entire cast was fantastic, even Jang Hee-jin (as Do Hae-soo) and Seo Hyun-woo (as Kim Moo-jin). I found Kim Moo-Jin such a funny, lovable character. The police/detective team were great as well. Also, wow, what an incredible and absolutely adorable child actress Jung Seo-yeon as Baek Eun-ha, is (daughter of Hee-sung and Ji-won)! She was just the cutest, especially when interacting with her father. She lights up every scene that she is in.
Overall, this show is a highly complex story with layers of mystery, dark psychological aspects, intensely thrilling moments, dark secrets of the past coming back to haunt, full of twists and turns and a complete emotional rollercoaster ride that leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The series did such an excellent job of balancing the fine line of being both tender and gritty, beautiful and yet dark. Highly entertaining and beautiful to watch, thought-provoking, memorable and just an overall fantastic series. LOVED IT. (Hoping for a Season 2!)

I jush can't hold myself back from writing the review for this series
I have just completed this drama. Or right now two words which is popping in my mind is that wow! I loved this.ABOUT THE STORY
The story of this series is incredibly awesome or complicated at the same time, it made me excited in evey episode or at every point that what is going to happen next, made me compel to watch next and next episode with out break.
Story is little horrific or evil and also about loving and caring, which melted my heart and made me cry more than 10 times. I have never cried this much in any other series ever. In this drama series I never got the chance to skip a single moment
This story frist made main roles evil and than the why they turned the tables. At that every point when story points that Do Hyun Su is the murderer with his dad made the watched fully believe and then after they shows that he is actually not that is really amazing, storyline is amazing and well written.I don't got the chance to say this should not be like this.
ABOUT ACTING/ CAST
omg! I really don't know what exactly words I should use to describe about the acting ...As it is my first drama watching Lee Joon Gi as main role. So all I know is that when he cried my tears falls on my cheeks. He is really a amazing actor , his I sees him doing evil role it terrifies me and good role it makes me attach to the drama his facial expressions are really perfect and what I like about Moon Chae Won is her caring, tranced, thrilled or happy expressions. So overall all the actors did really awesome.
This is the type of modern drama that I love watching and its worth watching. This drama is evil , horrific, romantic, or have a perfect story which have no error, the only thing I regretted was that he don't gets his memory back at last.
I loved this drama or I really never forget this. I have watched many dramas and this drama is one of them that I will never forget about it.

Had me hooked one the first episode!
This drama is definitely one of my favorite dramas! The story, acting, cast, OST, everything about it is amazing. It's a good first drama, I introduced a friend to k-dramas through this and she absolutely loved it! It can hold your attention, leaving you in suspense, and always making you want to watch the next episode. Lee Joon Gi's acting is on point! (like always ;)) He's always been the best actor I've ever seen, and this just makes him seem even better. 10/10 recommend! You won't regret it!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Flower of Evil is a beautiful masterpiece that really keeps you on your toes. It is a thriller that showcases a loving couple that is trapped in an ill-fated relationship, desperate to do whatever it takes to be together in peace. The plot unravels slowly, then all at once, leaving you no time to catch your breath.
I absolutely LOVED Do Hyun Soo and Cha Ji Won's relationship. Despite their unfortunate conditions, their characters played out so realistically and naturally - you'd have a hard time believing they weren't married in real life. Neither of them overplayed their roles, so you won't see any of the standard cheesy fluff that you get in your typical drama. The kind of love they had for one another was real - and real love is not always stable nor unconditional. It really makes you think - if the one you love the most turned out to be someone they weren't, would you still be able to love them? Does someone's past dictate their present? Can you forgive a liar?
Furthermore, I really enjoyed the close knit bond between the secondary characters. Do Hae Soo and Kim Moo Jin had some very cute and light-hearted interactions that made me desperate for all the unfortune to go away, just so they could start over. Despite their bickering throughout the work day, Choi Jae Sup truly cared for Cha Ji Won's safety and happiness as a sunbae. Although there we many dark moments, Do Hyun Soo and Cha Ji Won's support system never failed them - these moments truly made my heart warm.
This drama is heavily plot based, but NONE of the characters were lacking. This really allowed for both Do Hyun Soo and Cha Ji Won to shine and tell their painful stories individually, then together as a couple. I would definitely recommend this, purely for the suspense and thrill - but you're definitely going to stay for the characters. :-)

This drama gave me STRESS
This is a very good drama that is all types of twisty and bendy in the best way .The plot device is not so much physical twists but more so emotional twists . All is not what it seems on the emotional front . I found that very novel and well done .
By the way / lots of romance . Lots of it . And it’s so wonderfully inserted . Dare I say it’s epic !
Acting is superb . Lee Jong Ki shows immense range ,control and sheer excellence . He is officially a favorite of mine . He made watching Moon Lovers bearable and in FoE he has a great script and brilliantly shines .
Moon Chae Won was brilliant too . Great emotive acting with the professional restraint that was needed for her cop role . Another one going in the fave actors list
Shoutout to the villains for actually being soooo scary . I was legitimately frightened of them . Dripping in scariness for sure .
So why the 9 and not a full ten ? Well , the show got a bit soap opera and melodrama like in a way that was trope leaden . It didn’t remain sober in approach . If you are looking for a Signal vibe in here , then that is definitely not in here .
However , atmosphere modulation is up there with the best in K Drama land . The choreography of scenes was just beautifully strung together . There’s an episode 10 that is just a masterpiece!
Overall: Happy to see it won Best Director at the Baeksang awards . It was well directed . 10/10 for the sheer stress I was constantly in . I had to constantly pause to give myself a break. It was too much . But sooooo much in a good way .

I’m usually not a fan of korean crime and detective dramas, as they often feature characters making unrealistic and idiotic choices. However, ‘Flower of Evil’ really had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The suspense escalated as Jiwon began to suspect her husband, Do Hyun Su. I loved watching the tension unfold as he lied to her, all while she was acutely aware of his true identity. The buildup to the moment when Do Hyun Su realized that Jiwon had uncovered his secret was incredibly satisfying, and that scene did not disappoint. The emotional depth showcased by Lee Jun Ki and Moon Chae Won was nothing short of remarkable, perfectly capturing the intensity of the moment.
However, I felt that the pacing slowed down significantly after the real Baek Hee Seong woke up. From that point on, the story dragged a bit, and I found myself skipping through many of Baek Hee Seong’s scenes, largely because I couldn’t stand his parents and their impact on the narrative. This shift in focus detracted from the overall tension that had been so engaging earlier in the series.
I doubt I would rewatch this drama, as the thrill of the experience relies heavily on the suspense surrounding Do Hyun Su’s secrets. For that reason, I would rate its rewatch value a mere two out of ten. Overall, it’s a captivating watch, but once you know the twists, the excitement diminishes.

This drama really deserve a round of applause. It's truly a masterpiece. After watching it's okay to not be okay , I have so much hope in other drama .
I always thought that this drama flower of evil will be likable or not. But after watching first episode, I can truly said this is much better than iotnbo.
Both the drama portrait the psychopath theory ,but I can say flower of evil is more realistic.
In every episode of flower of evil you can say wow
Talk about Lee Joon character . It would difficult to say that is he is a villain Or innocent . Sometimes you feel pity for him and sometimes you hate him. In other words you can only love him in either way. He totally gives full justice to his role.
Moon ga young was fabulous . Her acting was too good as a cop . The way she support her husband in difficult times was truly inspiring.
Every character of flower of evil has given a injustice to their role
Only word for this drama " daebak!!"

I have no words to express how wonderful this drama is. Please watch
EVERY episode leaves you on the edge of your seat. There is no boredom, nothing drags out, and yet nothing is rushed. Characters are well explored in general, action packed, mystery and romance and friendship.I do not cry often watching dramas, and yet the way these characters were portrayed I grew attached to them and I felt a heaviness in my heart seeing the suffering they went through and all they want is love.
I cannot stress enough how much I love these 2 leads. This is NOT one of those cases where the male lead shines and a whimpering weak female lead needs saving. Cha Ji Won is an amazing character. She is a badass cop, a strong woman, but so open hearted that she is willing to love and forgive in a way I do not think many of us are - and despite how in real life I might go 'jesus woman, leave him', I can completely understand her love in this story.
I agree with the journalist when he says she is a saint. I admire how she sees through Do Hyun Su's pain, understands he is not the monster he was painted as, and that he does not even know it. She understands his reasons to hide. And it is more than most people would ever be able to do.
Their lovestory is so compelling and despite Hyun Su being programmed into thinking he cannot feel, we can almost chuckle and shake our heads at him because at every turn he proves himself wrong and is full of heart.
The detectives are very interesting characters, Kim Woo Jin, Do Hae Su...everyone is a fleshed out human who makes decisions who are understandable whether they are the best for them or not.
Eun Ha is the sweetest cutest child in the history of the universe and I was to give her a hug.
Favorite heart wrenching scenes:
The dish washing scene in EP 9 made me cry
The conversation ouside the car in ep 11
The basement scene in 15....
The car scene on 16 omg so many scenes
Favorite scenes:
Cute flashbacks, anything with Eun ha, Do Hyun Su holding baby Eun ha.
The soundtrack is perfection. The instrumental music is a work of art.
Yes there is an aspect of the ending that I would change. The amnesia. I would not even scratch it, but my fanfic-prone heart would have loved to have seen him remember, or a flashforward scene of them settled into their new lives in the future.
Also I would have liked to have seen them address Hyun su's wrong diagnosis as a psycopath better. He does not display the symptoms and we have this confirmed over and over through the show, but I think the character himself should have heard this - as he did not seem to believe it.
I am really happy when i watch the behind the scenes videos and see that the actors got along.
I finished this yesterday and I already want to rewatch. I don't know what to do with myself now that it is over.

Flower of Evil till the end
I don't even know where to start, I followed Flower of Evil since the day they announced the cast. I have been there since the day the launched the stills, teasers, and the trailer. I really cherished this drama. I ate this drama well. From episode one to sixteen, the whole drama was a perfection. The acting of Moon Chaewon and Lee Joongi was flawless. They looked like a perfect couple with the kid. I really wished there were more family scenes with Baek Eun-Ha (their kid).Flower of Evil tells us the story of Cha Ji-Won (Moon Chae-Won), a detective who is married to Baek Hee-Sung (Lee Joon-Gi) and they have a daughter. Baek Hee-Sung is a devoted husband but he hides a dark secret from his past and is living under another person's identity. His wife has no clue about his past but here is a thrilling part, she is a detective. Cha Ji-Won discovers his secrets and chasing his past.
Overall, Flower of Evil is one of the best dramas of 2020 and it's to be treasured forever. It was not too much nor too little. The story could have been stronger I felt but they never missed giving us the thrilling feel. There are so many scenes that kept me on the hook and scared. The ending is beautiful.
