Where do I even begin with this drama... Probably one of the most stressful and frustrating dramas I've ever watched, in a good way.. Sort of. I was kind of skeptical of watching this after I saw the number of episodes, I mean 50 is a lot and before this I had never finished one so long. But now that it's finally over I'm really glad I stuck around for this. I did like the darker route this drama took, showing a lot of more serious matters and not just developing romance over the course of 50 episodes. I do have to say though that everything that happened in this drama was just SO convenient. I mean this drama was just one disaster after another, and it got real annoying after a while. The acting was pretty mediocre. I think Eugene and Lee Jung Jin did pretty well in portraying their characters. I wish the writers hadn't made Eugene's character to be such a pushover though, I mean you would think she'd have a tougher backbone after all the ill-treatment she received, but nope. Never made an effort to change that. (That wasn't a spoiler, you'll see that in the 1st episode) And I kinda hate to admit it, but I think Yoon Ah Jung was probably my favorite actor in this drama even though I HATED her character. If she was able to portray a character as evil and wicked as she was, I think she has got some serious acting skills. I mean I hated her with a passion so that says something. Well besides her, everyone else was just okay. Except for Jung Bo Suk... I'm sorry, but I just couldn't take him seriously when he was in more serious scenes. Definitely the weakest link of all the actors.
The music was okay as well. "Living is Not Living" by Jo Hyun Ah and "In Your Eyes" by Jang Hee Young were probably my favorites, but other than those 2 nothing else really stuck out to me.
Overall... While part me is happy this drama is FINALLY over, I'm still kind of sad because I have been watching this from the very beginning. Ever since when it first premiered in January, and I never dropped it or forgot it was on one weekend so I'm proud of myself. This is a drama you definitely have to be patient with to watch. You'll definitely find yourself getting frustrated with the characters choices, but in the end you may be happy you stuck around for it. And just so you know, the ending was the best. I'm so happy with how it all wrapped up. I will probably never watch this drama again, maybe certain episodes, but not all 50. Too much stress.. Definitely check this out if you're ever in the mood for a longer drama, and who knows. You may end up liking this one!

While the storyline's not the most original thing ever, the main leads did well in portraying the growth and development of their relationship. Eugene's character was the epitome of a damsel-in-distress. Though she had her highlights, the overall vibe that the character gave was a weak woman. Lee Jung Jin was pretty good with progressing through a relationship while following his views. His logic and reasoning was well done in the drama and a character that has depth. Hands down, Park Won Suk was the greatest actress in the drama. Though she's the "bad guy" in the drama, she had the best facial expressions and ways of conveying her emotions and frustrations. Yoon Ah Jung as well was very good at portraying her feelings and reactions.
The soundtrack was alright, though I could do without some of the music at some scenes.
Honestly wouldn't rewatch this again since it's too long and I could do without all this exaggeration in life. I might watch certain episodes just to relive the highlights of the drama, but I won't go through the whole thing again.

In the beginning, I was truly intrigued by the main characters, but as the story unfolded the villain's scenes became insufferably long and irritating and the response from the ones who were wronged became unbelievable and unrealistic. How many times are you gonna say, "If you don't leave me alone, I'm gonna call the police.", before you actually CALL the police or get a restraining order, (if restraining orders exist in Korea)?
I truly couldn't stomach much more than 40 some episodes before I started Dsking*. I think I started suffering at about 28 episodes.
Cut in half and tying up loose ends would have really made this SO much better!
*Dsk/Dsking - My words for when you've watched enough of the drama to be know the gist of the story, but fast-forward through long drawn-out crying, wailing, reflective and unnecessary back-flashes, ridiculous screaming/fighting scenes or irrelevant and irritating side plots because you can't stomach it. OR in extreme instances skip to the last episode. LOL...

This is the longest drama I have ever watched. It is also my 100th drama. YAY!!! I'm in triple digits. LOL OK...this drama is definitely a makjang drama. It takes everything to the extreme. There are birth secrets, revenge plots, crazy off the wall characters, controlling parents, etc. I like the over the top story at times and then other times I just wanted to scream. The side stories of each of the family members are good also. The Kim family is just crazy from beginning to end. I can't go through the entire plot with out spoilers, but just know that it is totally ridiculous in a good way.
The acting is good also even if it does seem a little soapish. Eugene is great as Chae Won even though I didn't like her character that much. It is ok to be selfless but not to the detriment of your own happiness. Anyway, Eugene still played the character well. Lee Jung Jin was the highlight of this drama as Se Yoon. His acting is stellar and I liked his character a lot. The other actors are also good especially Shin Goo as the family grandpa. He held this drama together. Jung Hye Sun's voice was grating as she played the matriarch of the Kim family. I have seen her in other dramas and never found her as annoying as I did in this drama. I really hated her character through out.
Even if you don't watch this drama, you should check out Jo Hyun Ah's Living is Not Living. It is a beautiful song.
I will not rewatch this.
If you like makjang dramas with slightly over the top acting, then this is a drama that you should watch.

Story: To be honest, I don't really mind makjang as long as the writer embraces it whole-heartedly and doesn't try to write off the drama as something else, so I'm glad I got what I expected out of this one. "Hundred Years Inheritance" reminded me a little of "Nice Guy". Both dramas were fun in a soapy way, but there's no way in hell you'd want to *meet* the characters or even interact with them. As long as you don't overthink the story, "Hundred Years" is a fun watch. Full of characters you love to hate and characters you root for despite their personalities. I have to admit, I actually loved the family dynamic in this one. Everyone started out being polite but distant from each other, but gradually came to love and accept this hodgepodge of people as *their* family. That storyline was really gratifying to watch.
Acting: Everyone acted wonderfully. Eugene and Lee Jung Jin were brilliant in their roles, and Choi Won Young was great fun to laugh at. The family members weren't all A-list actors, but they acted well and knew what they were doing. I kind of wish Seo Young Hoon had more screen time so I could actually form an opinion on what I thought of him as an actor, but as of now I'll just keep an eye out for him.
Music: I have to say, it was pretty much like every other OST out there, but a few of the songs were actually pretty good. (I'm not really sure if I actually liked them or if they just grew on me after 50 episodes)
Rewatch Value: Maybe? As of now I'm done with makjang for a while, but later for the OTP scenes.
Overall: From a distance, this drama is a fun watch. It'll leave you laughing, crying and smiling, but at the end of the day the only reason you'll really remember it is because of the craziness.

2. 50 episodes is just too long. There are a lot of scenes and episodes that are no longer needed. Cut it down to 20 or 24 might have given a higher score.
3. The actors were good enough not to bore me all along and I like the love story between See Yoon and Chae Won. Over-all, its an OKAY drama but honestly, not worth it for 50 episodes.

The cast was good indeed, Eugene is a good actress in my opinion, and also the male lead and the other actors made a very good job, but, it ain't nothing to do because the story was a flop.
As I said, when I reached the 20th I started to wonder "so now I have other 30 episodes to watch, what can happen next?"
The thing is, you think it would bring something new every week, but actually nothing happens. Oh, well, nothing GOOD happens.
From the 20th to the 50th episode I skipped some parts because characters were boring, and their actions too.
They put in too much drama sterotypes, and that's good for a 16 episodes drama, but not for a very long drama like this one (50 episodes).
So, it is not like I didn't like it, but I felt as if because of the number of episodes they were just ruining the characters and the plot too.
It is a drama that shows life and everyday problems, but it gets boring from the middle till the end.
I think it could be a nice drama if it was shorter.

The plot was what got me into this drama in the first place. It was really slow in the beginning, but it improved as the episodes went by, but it got draggy. I was just screaming at my screen for to have the female & male lead to have some peace. Nobody was leaving them alone. There were some unnecessary sub-plots that it got boring. But I stayed because I wanted to see the leads together after all the obstacles they had to go through.
I thought the female lead didn't have a back bone at first, but she was able to get free of that & I am happy that she got the freedom she deserved in her life. I loved the male lead most of the way through. There were a few moments where I wanted to slap him(at least one point the beginning & the middle). I hated the scend lead & his mother so much that I wanted to go into the screen & kill them myself. That's how much I hated them. I haven't hated a mother figure since Shining Inheritance & Stars Falling from the Sky. I have never full-on hated the 2nd male lead before this drama! I wanted the OTP all the way, even though they have fought, I still wanted the OTP together no matter what. I thought the leads had chemistry & it was what saved the show for me.
The ending theme was great. But other than that, it wasn't was memorable, but some suspenseful bgms fitted in the right spots of the scene.
I won't re-watch this drama ever, because it was a wild roller coaster ride that even though there were moments where I wanted to stop the ride, I couldn't because the writers were giving it to us by the loadful. The point is, it was a long, wild, emotional ride & I don't want to cry all over again because of the female lead going through just because of 2nd male lead, his mother! After I watched the last episode, I just felt so exhausted & yelled FINALLY IT FINSHED!!! But at least they got the happy ending they deserved!
Overall, recommend it to anyone who like long dramas, birth secrets cliche, the actors/actresses & melodramas.
