Killer performances from underrated boy groups!
+10 stars because I started the show stanning only Pentagon, Golcha and The Boyz, and by the end, I was stanning Oneus, ONF, Verivery, and TOO too. The stages were all end-of-the-year award show level productions that I wish there could've been a live audience to hype up the groups. My favorite thing to come out of this was Pentagon x ONF's friendship and brotherhood.-0.5 star because of Msnake. We all know survival shows are rigged unfortunately just some parts of the competition were blatantly unfair. Oh well. I am happy with the final outcome and the winner of the program.

I was already a fan of ONEUS before the show. This introduced me to many other groups/songs, especially The Boyz who I am a fan of now because I liked their performances/personalities. My favorite groups here were probably ONF, The Boyz, ONEUS, TOO and Pentagon cause they had some spectacular performances. The finale was fantastic, I continuously listen to those finale songs.

JAW-DROPPING PERFORMANCES AND UNPREDICTABLE SCORES
I didnt watch Queendom cause Im more of a bg stan but omg this show is so good! I wasnt a fan of every group that was participating but now i love them all. The performances are sooo good like i keep getting surprised. The second episode had the best performances out of the show so far. The boyz always have the best stages, but ONF have the best music arrangements. My only complaint is that the show has eliminations, which is incredibly cruel on mnet's part but something has to make this show high stakes. Im even more excited for the lineup for Kingdom which is the next installment. Even if you dont wqtch the show you gotta see some of the performances. 9.5/10Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Reality Competition TV Without The Excruciating Audition Process
Really solid reality competition show. Compared to one like ILAND which had many flaws, this was entertaining as hell. I'd never watched Queendom before this, so didn't really know how the competition worked beforehand. I do know that eliminations weren't really a thing in Queendom so that's interesting.I think the eliminations in this made the competition more gripping. Even though I know learning more from the experience would've probably been nice to those groups who had to leave. Since yes they are established, but not as much as they could be. Like I went in knowing Pentagon the most and came out being OBSESSED with The Boyz. Whom did an incredible job every. single. round dude. Their choreo is some of the best I've ever seen in kpop!
All the groups had strengths though of course. So its fun to watch all of them even if you aren't necessarily attached to any of them. I also heavily enjoyed seeing behind the scenes stuff with producing the remixes of songs and rehearsal. I wish there could've been more time to interview some of the contestants from each group, but there's only so much time! Can't wait for "Kingdom" because that's when the big players come out and match up!

The Story aka The Show's Concept
I always enjoyed the survival shows that focus on less popular idols, because there is truly no disadvantage for said idols. Their debut does not depend on the show. They can only gain popularity, so the risks are truly minimal (except for emotional distress, but then they will be in the same emotional state if they won't gain the fans anyway...). I don't believe the voting was fair, but I also don't believe it's possible to make it fair, so it never bothers me in shows like that. It makes the watch less stressful and I can truly focus on enjoying the performances
The Acting/Cast aka The Contestants
I enjoyed all the groups. Before the show I was already a fan of Oneus and Pentagon, but seeing how fun the rest of the boys were, it did make me want to check them out too. The best part of the whole show were the interactions between teams and how they were hyping and supporting each other. Sadly, we barely saw it in the last episode, and with that I must say the finale was a let down. While the performances were amazing, I wished to see some reactions from other teams and listen to more of their opinions. Can we also appreciate how crazy witty Jang Jun from Golden Child is? The phone call in episode 1 was one of the most entertaining things I have seen in the past few months.
The Music aka The Performances
I cried. Twice. If anyone likes to be an emotional mess I would recommend watching Pentagon's Shine + Spring Snow performance and The Boyz/Oneus' Heroine one (which also shows how close and supportive the boys are). Other stages that amazed me were: Oneus' Warrior's Descendant and Lit, ONF's It's Raining, The Boyz's Sword of Victory.
The teams that impressed me were Oneus with their storytelling and messages, Pentagon and ONF with the music arrangements and The Boyz with innovative ideas and stunts.
Overall, I think it's a good show that does a great job actually presenting the groups and their strong points both in terms of music, but also their unique personality.

It did not dissappoints me!
Watched this show two days ago only, I only came across to the performance of the Boyz when I was randomly clicking videos in youtube, I don't even know the Boyz but I got hooked to their performance so I tried to watch episode 1.I don't even know the contestants except Pentagon which I only knew because of Dawn.
But when I watched their 90 second introduction, I already made up my mind that I need to watch the whole show.
And it never dissappoints me!
Since all of them are equal, maybe they are on the bottom part of the kpop industry that time, they all give their best to the show. You will witnessed how CREATIVE and TALENTED they are and how EAGERNESS they want to be on top. Every group performed like it was their last stage performance. No one wants to be at the bottom, but sad to say they need to eliminate two groups.
From stage setup, costumes, to props, to concepts and performance. All the groups did their best. I also like the pointing system, where in the contestants will rank other groups, they did not include online voting except for the last round which I think its acceptable. Because of that all groups showcase their talents and enjoy every performances without thinking that the viewers will not like it.
I'm gonna stan all the contestants THE BOYZ, ONF, PENTAGON, VERIVERY, ONEUS, TOO and GOLDEN Child. These groups are so underrated.
Ps: I watched Kingdom Legendary but I'm not happy to that show.

Truly Amazing...
WOW!!! First let me say I actually watched Road to Kingdom after watching Kingdom: Legendary War. As tends to be the norm when picking a new show to watch, I came for one reason. The Boyz. I stayed for everyone. I found new Idol groups that I had never heard of. Groups I had only heard on my Pandora, or saw in passing on Youtube or Insta. I honestly, at the time never gave them much thought. But after watching both Kingdom and Kingdom: Legendary War. I've found many more groups to enjoy and support. Now, my only negatives about Kingdom. First, I HATE eliminations. It genuinely broke my heart when Golden Child and then TOO were eliminated. As I said I watched Legendary War first, and seeing how they kept all 6 teams from start to finish was very meaningful to me as viewer and fan. Lastly, the drag out!!! I defiantly understand wanting to cause suspense and put everyone on the edge of their seats, but wow, the drag out and constant repeat between when the host would say "Third Place" first time....oh I honestly just skipped 10 seconds and was able to still be left in suspense.
Other than that, I very much enjoyed the show. And I really hope to see more of Road to Kingdom in the future. As it really is a great way to get to know more Idol groups. As well as help them grow their fandoms.

The Best Survival Show I've watched Until Now
First of all, the production is absolutely spectacular and truly enhances the performances. I highly suggest you to see it by yourself if you haven't already. Please watch at least the episode 1. The contestants are Kpop groups, they are not trainees thus the quality of the performances are breathtaking and the way they interact with each other is more positive. The fact there were no crowds during their performances did not bother me at all. In contrary, I found it even more good that way because we can perfectly see their performances in a clearer way.The concept is also well though, they have to fulfill different missions and the winner(s) can go make it to another survival show "Kingdom" which is such a surprisingly good idea.
I am rewatching it now because I cannot get over TheBoyz performances in this one and how they nailed this competition program. Theboyz's performances were constantly innovative, a work of art, masterpieces, literally flawless. Indeed, they have taken the best advantage of the stage, the camera and they've always chosed a great song, a great concept, and they've delivered it all in a perfect way which is mind-blowing. I am really grateful to this shows because thanks to this show, I was able to discover another facet of theboyz that I was unaware of (their conceptual performance skill and their consistency). After watching the show, I have asked mysel: Why did I ignored them? What was I doing with my life? So, "Road to Kingdom" was a blessing for the groups, for the fans and the new fans.
Before watching this show, I already knew TheBoyz and Pentagon. Watching it made me stan Theboyz even more and discovers other groups. All the groups were touching, great and I wanted them all to succeed.
The thing that I liked was their interaction with each other. In the first episode, the phone call/text chat between different groups was very funny. During the collaboration mission, it also was a good experience to witness how they had to create a performance/chemistry in such a short amount of time. On the other hand, it was a bit sad because the reality is that they have to collaborate but compete against each other as well.
Overall, "Road to Kingdom" is a survival show that I will always recommend. It made me laugh, smile, and also cry. I've also truly appreciated the competitive yet at the same time friendly and positive energy of this show. For real, it was refreshing and healing to my soul. This shows holds a special in my little heart :)

Road to Kingdom” is the spin-off from the popular competition program “Queendom” last year. The show features seven boy groups—PENTAGON, ONF, Golden Child, The Boyz, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TOO—who will compete against each other in missions every week.
Every year, K-pop fans look forward to the end-of-the-year awards ceremonies, which features special performances from their favorite idols as well as unexpected interactions between groups. “Road to Kingdom” has reportedly spared no expense in order to rival those ceremonies in scale, with contestants directly participating in brainstorming sessions for songs and concepts.
The performances will feature not just singing and dancing but also acrobatics and amazing stage props that aren’t ordinarily seen on music show broadcasts. The production staff also worked hard to prepare diverse stage set-ups and appropriate stage direction in order to showcase each vocalization, choreography, and facial expression.
Apart from the competition aspect, “Road to Kingdom” will be an opportunity to discover new faces and new talents. There are many chances for groups to interact and react to each other’s performances and for idols to show off their natural humor and wit. People are also looking forward to the chemistry between MCs Lee Da Hee and Jang Sung Kyu, who had great success with the previous season on “Queendom.”
