amazing lovestory within a typical Lakron

Being a Thai drama watcher the most interesting thing about lakron is, that it begins with a crazy overdramatic plot, raising the tension so high that, I can't resist but binge it. But the only thing that I don’t like about lakrons is the toxicity in the relationship between ML and FL. And this drama is exactly my type, besides an enticing plot, it serves a beautiful love story.

●SIMPLE ADVICE
-if anyone doesn't like the revenge trope lakron, please watch something else. there are lots of other dramas without this topic. stop watching what you don't like and rant about it.

●PLOT VIEW
The synopsis gives a clear hint of a typical lakron as Ingjan is forced to marry Sichon to clear off her debt. While he married her in order to take revenge. Well, Sichon's idea is to make her fall in love and hurt, and the relationship between IngJan and Sichon develops gingerly. the bickering of the duo is pleasant, whether in the bedroom or vineyard. At first, it might seem annoying (with one forced kiss in the beginning), but we get to see a warm love story where IngJan helps out and Sichon also takes her suggestion. They both were smart and perfect solving problems at the same time hot and sassy sharing explosive chemistry.
The past storyline of Tuscany is well developed and I loved how it was revealed in bits to maintain the curiosity of the viewers, that what actually happened.
Also, There are 5 evils wanting to split the duo creating a whole lot of confusion but making the plot very interesting, gripping, and full of action one woman Mekhla has a secret and is more dangerous than any other evils. Thip is Ex of sichon, these women fight but they aren’t bitchy. They show off their plans and mind games than using the ugly slap and back sequence. Also, there are a stepmom, stepbrother, and village chief are another set of pain and negativity in the whole drama.

●ACTING/CAST
Whoever did the casting deserves an appraisal to take in BigM and Hana as the leads
-BigM as Sichon, he is smart, clever, caring moreover loving. He loves IngJan to the core showing his loverboy and sexy sides. he was always full of charm and a good person caring about the workers and villagers. He never missed any opportunities to kiss her or hug her. They kiss passionately and it makes me want to repeat and rewatch. It made their relationship look realistic, as they were newly married but took time to understand each other.
-Hana Lewis as IngJan, is beautiful and charming like a rose petal, portrays a strong and decisive person, who never gives up but adjusts to time and situations. she took time to know Sichon better as a person, and also her feelings because it was a forced marriage. Her chemistry with the male lead was very great, Indeed the kissing sequence was so amazing to watch.
-Anisa as Mekhla, portrays a woman with a secret. She seems evil with her body language and I also got terrified watching her in dark scenes. She acted very well. Her secret reveal was well done
-Ploy as Thip seemed crazy at times but shows that she is a victim of her own bad choices. I have seen her before and she did well too
-Sasimorn, Sichons aunt is one beautiful character. I just loved her for her straightforward dialogues and good nature. She always tries to pull Sichon and Ingjan together.
-Fifa as Jomphop was a good friend and worker. I liked how he manages to maintain the peace in the vineyard and keep Tungpaeng aways
-Ching ching as Tungpaeng is one cute character who is oblivious of her father's evils. But she always stands on the side of goodness and does good deeds. People like her make this world a better place.

●MUSIC
I really liked the closing track. It's sung by the lead actor BigM himself. The tone and melody is soul touching.
The only thing I didn’t like about BGM is that it got sudden changes may be due to commercial breaks as we binge it, so it feels rather weird how it changes.

●REWATCH
Yes, I would rewatch this, It was entertaining and had epic romantic scenes for me to rewatch.

●FAV SCENE
Opening bedroom scene in Ep 8. I love how they bicker and fight. They are forced to stay together but the chemistry we see is full of charm and romance.

●APPRECIATION
I love the wardrobe of IngJan, especially the nightwear. They were elegant and cute, no wonder she looked tempting that Sichon can't resist.

●RECOMMENDATION
-Anyone who loves a typical lakron can watch JAO SAO JUM LOEY.
-If you are a first-time Thai drama watcher but want a mild dose of lakron, you can watch this.

●AFTERTHOUGHT
Although this lakron has a typical story but shows great chemistry of leads in a warm way. ML may seem vengeful but he is a loverboy IMO who was hurt. its a good drama that is entertaining with excellent leads characters and good secondary characters.

Pretty Cliché Revenge Lakorn with One Crazy Twist

The one thing I have to love about revenge lakorns is that the characters will go to such extreme lengths for revenge all over a simple misunderstanding. Honestly, this drama is technically bad, but it's pretty entertaining. There were so many slipups that were lol worthy. For example, the ML would throw punches and his hand was very clearly not making contact with the other person. Then there was this another scene where FL's arm gets bandaged, but in the next scene the bandage is below the wound and you can see the "wound" showing above. These are just a few examples.

Also, this lakorn has one of the most insane plot twists I've seen since Well Intended Love. It gets revealed pretty early on and is so ridiculous and unbelievable that I had a good laugh. Other than this ridiculous plot twist, the rest of the story is very cliché and predictable. It has your typical tropes seen in farming and revenge related lakorns. I ended up fast forwarding through most of the villain related stuff cuz it was boring and predictable. It has the Forced Marriage tag, but it's also a Contract Marriage plot. It falls under the Slap/Kiss genre because ML is aggressive in the beginning and main couple don't get along in the beginning, but there's no slapping and kissing.

Production wise, the quality felt a bit lacking. There's a lot of flashbacks and the sound mixing felt off at times. It just felt super slow paced in the beginning. The acting overall was also subpar. However, I appreciated Sa Anisa Nugraha's acting as May. The way her character was written is another story. Overall, it's cliché, but entertaining. If you don't mind fastforwarding and enjoy watching badly made lakorns for humor, this is one that's worth checking out.

For a show based on revenge, the reason behind the revenge was lacklustre

Wow, never thought I would say this, but BigM is actually worse in terms of acting than Hana. She has improved so much since I last saw her.

Lets get the good out of the way first, I really loved the FL in this show. She was sincere and very practical. Only downside is how stupid she was about a certain person who she apparently grew up with but can't recognize? Another thing I found really annoying was that she is a jewelry designer, but does nothing for her company the whole show (aside from that one event held at her family home). It felt like such a wasted opportunity to give the FL some agency outside of her relationship with the ML, but thats a minor gripe. Overall, I liked her direct character.

Second thing I LOVED about this show was the skinship. It was sizzling!!! I don't think I've seen an asian show with this much skinship between the leads. It's usually hinted at or shown glimpses of, but never so explicit. Kudos to them for actually showing a healthy physical relationship where the girl isn't a mannequin with her eyes popping open like she's a deer facing a cars headlights.

Now, for the bad bits. It was really difficult to sit through this lakorn. I really wanted to like this one as I usually enjoy revenge plots that make me sob tears for the poor FL. However, the premise for revenge has to have some legs for me to believe that the ML must act that way. In this lakorn, the premise is soooo lame and stupid. You would never think a grown man is playing out his revenge fantasies because a women dumped him? I fail to fathom how in 2022 these types of regressive male ego trips are being given any sort of platform? How do you spend months with a person, then you see them say one bad thing about you and you just walk away and mope without confronting said person you were just about to propose to? I'm sorry, but if I was the girl in the situation, I would thank God for having dodged the bullet of fragile male ego. Sichon is one of those guys who will believe any Tom, Dick and Harry before he believe's the women he claims to love despite her sticking with him, giving him moral support as well as solving pretty much all his problems in his time of need. This is poor writing and pretty much ruined the show for me. Revenge plots are heavily grounded by the reason for revenge. In this show, I couldn't get behind the pathetic ML. He just came off as a loser who couldn't just ask the girl why she said those things before plotting to destroy her life?

Anywho, I think the show had a pretty poor start. I actually started becoming invested in the side story about the farm more than the revenge plot being enacted by the ML. It also doesn't help that the ML, BigM is a below average actor. Hana's acting was actually surprising in this as I usually find her pretty bland, but compared to BigM, she seemed way more animated. It also helps that she is one of the best looking young Thai actresses (I also loved most of her outfits, the wardrobe designer for this show deserves a raise!).

Lastly, I don't see many people mentioning this, but the show had a very odd colour palette. It was a bit vignette shaded. Sometimes people were overexposed and sometimes underexposed, The colours were saturated a times and sometimes they seemed fine. I don't know if it's a stylistic choice or editing errors, but it didn't come off well and looked non-professional.

Okay, the main couple here is supposed to be Hana Lewis and this... BigM? Who's surprising choice for a pra'ek, honestly. He's got the typical villain looks, or what they usually consider villain looks in thai drama, lol. I would expect him to be old for Hana Lewis, but lookie here this was 2022 and Hana Lewis reached 30 so I guess it's alright, lol.

Now. One thing is the cast, the other are the characters. Nang'ek has a family that is ready to drug her and sell her to nearest old & ugly rich guy, who's ready to assimilate the family debts by marrying her. And when she escapes, she meets her pra'ek, who wants to do the same, with the difference that he's young and handsome... or, looks like BigM, lol. He feels entitled to do this to her because he holds grudges against her for hurting him somehow in the past, but considering she doesn't even remember knowing him that's clearly a bull (or she should remember his voice). Same goes for the plot. Even if one accepts the dubious logic of a forced marriage, it makes no sense if it's supposed to be for 1 year only.

But! All that is only an outer shell. What matters is, shall the inside be sweet and enjoyable:)) First kiss is episode 2, it's not passionate kiss yet, but it's not fake, either;) If Hana Lewis, now 30, improved in this department (I watched her earlier work and she was way more convincing in her action scenes than kissing scenes in her 20's), then no matter the silly plot, this lakorn might still turn out to be an enjoyable watch. But then, we get to the wedding night, and of course then the writer doesn't know what to do, because they should sleep together, but they shouldn't sleep together. This storyline is always stupid. I seriously don't know why "forced marriage" is such a popular trope. There is nothing much exciting about it, either way they are married. Also, there's the revenge... It's the classic Misunderstanding kind of it. Also annoying.

Also, a psychopatic support character attempts to kill nang'ek after 5 episodes. Wow, the writer seriously held themself back, LOL. Five whole episodes, what a restraint. Okay, the level of stupidity has risen enough to quit questioning the "plot" whatsoever, so I won't bother to keep commenting on it. Whenever a ghost or alien should appear, I won't say a word. Like our nang'ek, trapped in forced marriage, who is willing to let 2 beautiful women move in the house with her & her husband. It's practically a comedy, seeing all 3 of them sitting at the same table. While 2 of them would love to pull each other's hair out, the third one is smiling. She can now just sit back and be rid of the guy she doesn't want, without much effort. No comment on that;-)

As for the side characters, Ploy Randapa is also engaging to watch, she is attractive but her role consists of being the desperate "bad girl" using cheap methods with guys or being used by "bad boys". But then her character has some ending, which should belong to other genre, but of course, not in the case of "classic" lakorn. Chingching Kharittha is cute but I didn't like the guy they paired her with. Who's actually funny to watch is Man Patthanapol, portraying something betwen a dandy spiv and a total crook. I almost laughed most of his scenes. Of course, up to the point it got too out of hand with his psychopatic mother... Since then, I had to completely skip him. Again, thai writers did not know the right measure. Apart from the "classic" over the top characters, the Misunderstanding which could be cleared by 5 minutes conversation was dragging my patience and bored me sooner than 1/2 of the series arrived. This is really something the writers should avoid by 2022. They were binging on it for enough decades.

It's annoying to watch Sa Anisa in her psycho role. I do understand the producers NEED to time-stretch every lakorn. They need to employ more cast and there should always be some kind of a rival characters. But it's so tiring and dated. Sa Anisa is a beautiful woman. And if she has to be on this show too, then she should have her own sensible story. Watching her as a desperate weirdo is not my kind of entertainment. At all.

Since episode 10, the producers do give up on the story of married couple who sleeps in the same bed but does nothing:) There are a few nice bed/scenes. BigM might not be typical pra'ek but he is sexy and Hana Lewis considerably improved (a few years back, she was not capable to shoot a simple kiss scene) and overall conveys herself way more attractive as a woman than when she was younger. If this show attains a slightly erotic tone then it MIGHT be an enjoyable watch...

Instead, mostly we watch some property plots about contracts being stolen during which Hana Lewis's nan'ek takes her husband's side, while she first said she only married him for money, now that she slept with him she says she loves him and would stay with him no matter what. So, the only couple drama waiting would probably be when she learns about his identity and that he only wanted revenge... Chingching Kharittha has an engaging line with her father, who is a bad guy. Still, even a bad guy loves his child. Will the love turn him a bit towards good?

I wanted the hidden identity revealed soon. Because I don't like it when that is dragged. My wish was fullfilled in episode 15/17. But the way it happened made zero sense. The only thing achieved was that both parties still believed they were deceived by the other. Probably so that they could drag this to the final. As traditional, despite the main couple being MARRIED and sharing 1 room and 1 bed, it is a random side-character who gets the chance to "explain" things to one of them first. After that, our pra'ek doesn't believe a single word his nang'ek says, and is hanging out getting drunk with the psychopatic murderer, instead. Because THAT is the interaction the viewers "wish" to watch, and waited so many episodes for... Somehow, I found it funny that just a "facial reconstructive replacement surgery on entire face" done in Korea could change the whole person and turn a GUY into Sa Anisa, whose wrist is 6 inches. Did they replace all the bones of his entire body? LOL. Not that I did care for this side-plot, but you understand my Story rating.

Then, only 1 last episode is left to conclude all the criminal investigations and murder attempts... Yeah, good old "romantic lakorn".

So Many Rivals! Love, Business, Family…And An Unexpected Twist

Of all the unlikeable characters in this drama, the most detestable one is Ingjan’s aunt. She not only drugs her own niece to be married and raped by a man old enough to be her grandfather for money, but continues to do objectionable and questionable things: forging her niece’s signature to get money, remaining friends with the old man who almost raped her niece, continuing to get hoodwinked and scammed, laughing at others’ misfortunes. This woman should not be trusted as anyone’s elder or to run a company, a company that she essentially mismanaged and bankrupted.

This drama is a wild ride with an interesting and unexpected twist. Sichon and Ingjan meets and falls in love a few years prior in Tuscany. Due to a car accident, Ingjan loses her sight temporarily, so she doesn’t know what Sichon looks like. When she regains her sight, she’s tricked into believing that a married man is Sichon. And Sichon is also tricked into thinking that Ingjan has discovered his plebeian background (being a maid’s son) and rejects him because of it since she’s a descendant of Thai royalty. Sichon becomes angry and bitter. When he runs into Ingjan again, and of course she doesn’t recognize him, he takes the opportunity to propose a one-year marriage in exchange for his bailing out her family’s financial trouble. He wants this one-year to essentially torture her and treat her like a servant/worker on his vineyard. Along the way they fall in love, but of course, their past misunderstanding rears its ugly head and this misunderstanding is further helped by the one person close to both (the twist in the drama!). The many problems face by the main couple only help draw them closer together, but there are love, family, and business rivals who are intent on destroying and separating the two lovebirds.

Although there are too many flashbacks and unnecessary scenes, the drama is quite enjoyable to watch, mainly due to the fiery chemistry between the two leads with lots of skinship and real kisses. Some may say that the villain, who promulgated the original misunderstanding and continues the farce, too easily receives forgiveness. I think the writer wants to address this character’s mental/psychological breakdown due to family and societal rejection. Another social issue that cropped up towards the end is revenge porn, and how it generates such fear and self-loathing on the victim’s side. So, I do appreciate the writer’s attempt to address these social issues in a drama. The ending is satisfying in that the main and secondary couples have their happily ever after, and the villains are punished with prison or worse.

Interessing plot, good actors, but a really poor story

I came here for the interesting plot: marriage of convenience between 1 ML revenge & 1 FL (who wants to escape 1 forced marriage to pay the debts of his company). It's one of mu guilty pleasure :)

In fact, nothong new : a very classic lakorn's story : rivals, corruption & mafia, love triangles, brainless aunt, etc.

At first, the ML who marries for revenge, it is not very credible...
More, an other series where the LGBT characters are either ridiculous or psychotic!
=>The Top of the b***shit here is the "FL's best friend" (hidden trans) who changes sex to seduce the ML... Absolute nonsense!! This trans character has completely changed in appearance (weight, height;) ;), face, voice, etc.). and continues his shenanigans both at place and at phone (keeping his male voice???). Not believable AT ALL!

So, a mind-boggling, insane storyline.
In addition, the management of the drama is not serious:
- signature that changes on the same document according to the scenes, wound bandage also, etc.
- incompatible morphologies (height, build, bone structure, etc.)) for Mek (male) and May (female). Seriously !!

In short, a beautiful chemistry between the 2 leads, whose performance I personally appreciated, wasted by a really badly written story and a not serious production.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TL;DR - Did this warrant 17 episodes? I thought so until the last ep. The reveal with the revenge doesn't happen until the last couple of episodes, which isn't my favourite. The romance had its moments, but due to the choices of the male lead, I would've been okay if they didn't end up together. Give it a watch and if you can buy into the ML's reason for revenge, I don't think you'd have a bad time.

I started watching this because it pretty much has my favorite type of slap/kiss plot (although I'm sure 90% of this genre has this sort of "macho man misunderstands innocent girl" type story) and I liked the look of the main leads. After finishing, I definitely thought there were some interesting elements, but overall just thought it was okay. I will first start with what I liked first.

One of the things that surprised me about this was how the story managed to be engaging and believable enough that it almost warranted the 17 episodes; when I first saw that it was going to be that long, I was filled with dread at how this was likely going to have a lot of filler. But this wasn't really the case; there are multiple plot lines occurring that make sense, and this lakorn does a good enough job to make you care about the characters that are directly involved. In particular, I really liked the storyline involving the dad and his conflict of how to love and protect both his sons born from different mothers. Whoever produced this show had a good sense of when certain plotlines should come in, and was in line with the current psychological states of the characters. At least to me, things went on in a logical manner that was engaging and not hard for me to go on to the next episode, although I had issues with the last episode that I'll discuss later).

I also really liked how they dealt with the character of May; the twist involving her was brilliant and she's one of the most memorable villains I've seen in awhile. Sa Anisa has really improved since Maturot Lohgan. I really really liked how when her secret was revealed, she was not demonized for being trans but rather more for her terrible actions as her own person. Her struggles as a trans woman were expressed well, and honestly it would've been too hard for the main leads to figure her true identity, so it made sense that it was revealed in the end. I will say that I felt like it would've been more in line if she'd try to kill Jan; she'd already gone too far and we don't really see her feel guilt for tricking Jan till the last episode. I felt like if I changed my whole ass gender for someone, I'd see it all the way through. Regardless, I'm satisfied with her development and I'll remember her for a long time.

Now onto what I didn't like; the first problem was that I didn't like how everything was resolved in the last episode. Problems that had been plaguing the characters for hours in the lakorn were conveniently settled within half an hour or so in the last ep. I really dislike this kind of storytelling because it makes me feel like I wasted my time, and it makes for an unnatural ending. This sort of quick, idealistic wrap-up with sunshine and rainbows felt like a cop-out and it disregarded the earlier conflicts that took long to set up. I also felt like production kind of gave up just because it was the last ep. Another problem I had was that I wasn't expecting the revenge plot to go on for so long, although this is a point that I'm conflicted with myself. On one hand, Jan should've had an idea that Sichon was Nam (there were a lot of coincidences) at least halfway through and move the plot quicker. On the other hand, if she did find out early and things resolved sooner, I would've lost interest in the OTP.  Ultimately, this is something that I've just come to accept, although it doesn't make me satisfied and isn't what I was expecting.

Another dislike is unfortunately the romance; because the revenge went on for so long, it personally made me unable to completely immerse myself in the romance. I thought BigM and Hana had really good chemistry, and the way they touched eo was very intimate and special. However for me, when I saw these intimate scenes, my feelings of romance would be negated by the fact that I knew the revenge would come, and it greatly bothered me that Jan was totally falling for him while he was intent on deceiving her.

I was also disappointed by Sichon's character; at first I thought he would be like the main lead from Game Rai Game Rak (both even have similar names!). However, Sichon had this big insecurity about being low-born and would just again and again cave-in to it despite what Jan did for him. While I don't deny that he loved Jan, he also couldn't believe in her and it's telling when the aunt and 2ndry FL believed her more than him. The moment he chose to believe Mek's words (in the latter third) was when I kind of gave up on him and thought Jan deserved better. Jan was a queen in every way and frankly I would've been okay if they didn't end up together.

I will inject some Sichon positivity and say that I was touched at the part with May when told her that gender didn't matter when it came to love. That everyone deserves love. I honestly expected him to hold that against her, but the fact that he didn't warmed my heart.

Music was alright (at the very end they played one of my fave Tilly Bird songs which I totally didn't expect), and I liked the secondary cast as well. Not something I'd re-watch. If you don't mind that the big reveal doesn't happen until the last couple of episodes, I'd say to give this a watch.
