They both are really sad, will make u cry an ocean. beautiful storyline, the cinematography is amazing too, truly unexpected ending loved the plot. spoilers coming ahead >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>they both have a similar ending
Both movies are about nostalgic first love. "Unforgettable" is a small budget indie movie set in an island that is more on drama side, while "20th Century Girl" is a Netflix original movie set in a school that is more on romcom side. Both movies similarly takes place in the 90s, includes radio/broadcasting job and have a tragic ending. With friendship and bittersweet romance which are dearly remembered even after they grew up as adults.
Both of these movies have timelines that take place in the 90s and in the modern day.
The main genres for both of these movies is melodrama and romance.
In both of these movies the theme of unrequited and first love are prevalent.
They involve the main character being in a radio club.

The ending is quite similar to that of Heavenly Forest. Starts off innocently and then the major twist takes place. I am sure fans of 20th Century Girl will like this one!
now 20th century girl kind of similar to this kdrama because it shows that the main female lead missed their partner because of the same reason which is death and the side couple of this kdrama (seaons of blossoms )which was bomi and jinyong has also the same storyline of 20th century girl beacause in 20th century girl the main female lead liked this boy but her bestfriend also liked him.

Girl's BFF has a crush on Boy who has a crush on Girl. Girl realizes her feelings slowly.
One is essentially a series of the other, but with a different ending.
Both are great! Sweet and light dramas.

Heavenly Forest and 20th Century Girl both have strong friendships and a young innocent love story between a guy who in one case opened up to no one and in the other never smiled ... until meeting the female lead. Both involve a lot of photography/filming, and as such, the cinematography of both is beautiful (as are the cast members). A sudden disappearance causes anger and heartache in the one who suddenly is not able to contact the one they love. There are overlaps that do not correlate between the same character (ie both have someone who is ill but the character is not in the same situation).
In both, you'll see heartwarming friendships, a friends-to-lovers situation, a bit of a love triangle (though they play out quite differently and Heavenly Forest's isn't as emotionally volatile, likely because they're in university, not high school), and situations that could make you cry (or not depending on your emotional fortitude/resilience).

Both dramas have:
- a cinematic, artsy, poetic feel
- a slice of ordinary life, and love between ordinary people
- both have beautiful last scenes
But, even though 20th Century Girl is 2 hours shorter, it has better flushed out characters with backstories, friends, families than Soundtrack #1. Also, even though the characters are underage in 20th Century Girl, it features a more mature and developed romance.

Differences:
- length: 2CG is a movie while OBS is a drama
