I don't know if...

I don't know if it's because I watched 18 Epi's of 'Love, Now' before watching this Epi or I'm too grounded in reality at the moment... But this Epi seemed so much more exaggerated than the previous Epi's. Maybe it was the music, the acting, the cameraman?? I'm not sure, but I was laughing when I shouldn't have, cringing during heart warming moments and squinting at the screen when I was embarrassed for the characters...

It wasn't a bad Epi, quite the opposite. I loved the progression, but it was filled with things I expect from a T-drama... but more, if that makes sense?

The kidnapping scene... I don't even know what to say about it. The gangster who was more playground bully than mafia, the fight scenes, the loose rope around her wrists... The shining light in that scene was George Hu's face haha.

Her wardrobe... I know everyone hates it and I'm not a huge fan myself but it doesn't take anything away from Annie's acting or her chemistry with George so I'm all good.

And I loved how mature Xiao Shu was this Epi. She surprised me in how rational she was in accepting Zhou Zhen's father and the truth about the lost advertisements. Major props! Especially because Zhou Zhen's father still let's his pride get in the way. He didn't apologize but she graciously said she was in the wrong (Even though it's free speech and a tiny little radio station and he kinda showed his true colors by using his connections to run her out of her own company... end rant).

I'm still waiting for the ex-girlfriend to come back and kick up dirt. I'm sure she had a different reason as to why she broke up with him than because of his Gangster father. But I don't know... I keep waiting for the drama to hit the fan but I'm wearing myself out trying to brace for it when maybe it's just a nice, boy meets girl, fall in love, face the world and live happily ever after? I would be totally cool with that.

Also, Xiao Shu staying in the hospital with Zhou Zhen was so sweet! Especially when she found out all that he did for her and then he woke up with her hand around his. I love this couple. Next Epi!

Clearing things out

In this episode; Xiao Shu finally cleared up the misunderstanding that she had about Zhou Da Guan after she found out that he's Zhou Zhen's father; I am glad that she didn't create a drama when she knew that Zhou Zhen was lying to her. She even brought Zhou Da Guan into her show and allowed him to clear everything up on air.

Now, I need Zhou Zhen and Xiao Shu to move from friendship to something more; they've been there for quite sometime. I also need more moments with Ying Ying and Zhe Xuan.

Keeping the Peace

I loved episode 8 and how Liang Xiao Shu handled the reveal that Zhou Zhen's dad is Zhou Da Guan. I felt that, unlike many dramas, where that reveal brings about heartache instantly, at least (for now)Xiao Shu worked hard to keep the peace. I know we'll probably revisit this relationship in later episodes, particularly because we still don't know the mystery surrounding her little brother's death, but I'm glad we don't have a whole lot of angst in the here and now.

I'm also glad that the relationship seemed to move forward, and that Gao and Liang are friends again. I like the friendship dynamic of these two, even though I don't ship them at all. I'm hoping that now Gao will start to fall for Ying Ying soon.

Speaking of Ying Ying, I really love her character, even if she's the pampered princess that I usually hate. There's a charm in her that is rarely in the princess-type, and I think that has a lot to do with the character's relationship with her gege.

Overall, episode 8 of Love Around kept me wanting more...more of ZhouXiao, more of GaoYing, and more of its lightheartedness and fun.
