La Pluie (2023)

Both series have protagonists with a specific form of supernatural disease where only a small number of people around the world suffer from this rare disease. Both series also contain the idea that only their soulmate can help them in this disease.

Both seem to be Rainverse stories, where some people are only able to hear one voice when it rains, their soulmate's. They also feature queer romances. While Love in the Rain is a GL, La Pluie is BL.

Based off of the synopsis both of these have a similar premise of hearing a voice in the rain. Our lead characters are fated together like soulmates.
In Voice in the Rain, our main character Rin is a fashion designer and can hear one voice anytime it rains where she sparks inspiration for her clothing.
In La Pluie, the story follows a character who dislikes strangers and talking to people as well as suffers from sensorineural hearing loss when it rains. However he can only hear one voice during the rain.

Similarities:

Differences:

- "La Pluie" is a Thai drama while "Light on Me" is a Korean drama
- "Light on Me" episode length is quite shorter (1/2x) than "La Pluie"
- "La Pluie" has a mixture of the work life and school life hence the multiple couples, while "Light on Me" is mainly on school life
• "La Pluie" - College setting; "Light on Me" - High school setting
- "La Pluie" seems more down-to-earth and realistic but the story is mainly about believing in a soulmate or not, while "Light on Me" is about finding first love.
- "Light on Me" is rated PG-13, while "La Pluie" is more for rated R

In both series, the main leads are destined to be with each other. There is a supernatural twist with amazing acting and sweet romance.

both lead characters have distanced themselves from others and have a hearing problem, however they can surprisingly hear the voice of just one special person (*_________*)

Both are BLs that take place in a world where there are people who supernaturally lose/lack senses (hearing vs. multiple senses) and are connected to a soulmate who is the only one who restores their senses/whose voice can be heard.
