Really good drama
Not many dramas these days manage to really capture the attention of viewers like older k-dramas. Lovely runner is the exception. Time travel stories might be a little overdone, but I found that Lovely runner did so very tastefully . It always had me wondering what was going to come next, and whether or not Sol was going to succeed in saving Sun jae. The stalker storyline is definitely the most overdone plotline it had. The lack of motivation behind the killer was almost comical at times but it still did a good job at keeping the story pretty entertaining. None of the characters ever felt annoying to me, their actions although may be a little exaggerated for the issue at hand always felt reasonable in concept and not merely to drive the plot forward. Lovely runner does a great job at portraying the love between Sol and Sun jae, and made the more sad parts of the show that much more impactful. Great show in all, sometimes felt a bit repetitive but did a god job at providing a meaningful story and conclusion to a relatively basic concept.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Life Changing Experience (literally).
Words cannot convey how I felt watching Lovely Runner and the journey it took me through.I was sceptical at first because they painted this as an idol-fan love story (and what I thought would be a weird age-gap), so I wasn't exactly looking forward to it, but I love Hyeyoon to pieces and was familiar with Wooseok (hated his character in Record of Youth or cried for him in 20th Century Girl), so I decided to give it a go. Episode 1 was alright, surprisingly left me wanting more, but nothing too extraordinary. I waited another day for Episode 2 to be release and well, I watched it and here I am, still in my Lovely Runner sh*t. I think everything changed for Subeom nation after that episode 2 ending, and from that moment I knew this would become a favourite of mine.
A girl time travelling to save the boy who gave her courage to live but that boy loved her all along for like 15 years? Dude, I don't know about you but I was OBSESSED. And from that moment on, my Mondays and Tuesdays became such a source of happiness to the point I hated weekends. Crazy, right? Plot-wise, this was brilliant. Even the smallest details made sense, and even thought there were a couple plot-holes (as expected since time-travelling media can't help but have them), this was brilliantly executed. From small things such as Sunjae realising Sol is from the future because she's singing Sudden Shower to more complex things such as Sol going further back into the past to erase herself from Sunjae's past, marvellous and beautiful.
Character-wise, I've got absolutely nothing to complain about, either.
Let's start with Im Sol, played by one of the greatest actresses of our generation, Kim Hyeyoon. This role was literally (because it was, in fact) written for her and no one, absolutely no one could've pulled it off the way she did. We saw Sol go through so many things in order to save Sunjae, sometimes failing to realise she was slowly losing herself during the process. But I am so happy that even though she had to endure a lot, at the end, all that effort paid off for her. I laughed with and at her, I cried with and for her, and I felt this character so much that I simply couldn't help but love her to pieces. I never understood the hate she was receiving, I believe her to be one of the most selfless characters I've come across and one I'm sure we will cherish for a long time.
As for Ryu Sunjae, played by big softie Byeon Wooseok, all I gotta say he deserves this huge blow up. which I gotta say, I'm not sure why he didn't get huge after (at least) 20th Century Girl, where he played a very similar character. Nevertheless, really happy for him because he became a global sensation, so deserved! Anyway, Sunjae!! God, Sunjae!! Leader of Subeom nation, a pathetic malewife and certified loser, I love you so much. Wooseok played Sunjae in a way I believe no one else could have, and we're all the richer for it. Sunjae was just a simply little (2 meter) guy who fell in love and that's it, but that doesn't mean his story ends there. He showed us perseverance, longing, grief, love, happiness, so many raw emotions we rarely see from male characters, and I think you will all agree with me that you just simply love him.
And finally, our Kim Taesung, played by the amazing Song Geonhee. I am very pleased to say I never disliked him, jokes on y'all for never seeing his potential! Taesung, thank you for showing the audience that second leads do not need to be toxic and clingy in order to stay relevant. Geonhee played such a charming Taesung that one couldn't just help but love him (which was my case). He was always there for Sol as a friend (and I'm so glad Sol never lead him on), and that he believed and trusted her when she asked for things that did not make any sense (future related, of course). Such a refreshing character that I will miss dearly.
I would also like to point out two more things regarding this drama. The first one is the make up and costume department, I AM CLAPPING AT THIS VERY SAME MOMENT. How were you able to convince me that Hyeyoon and Wooseok were 19 at some point and 34 at the other and so on? I mean, the actors of course had a great deal to do with this, but I believe the make up and costume team did a marvellous job that needs to be recognised.
THE OST! It's been such a while since an all-rounder OST came along, I will forever remember how desperate we all were for Spring Snow to be released, we were truly losing my minds. And I'm also forever thankful we had Wooseok sing Sudden Shower because that just adds a great deal more of emotion to the whole thing. Great singer choices, great songwriting, 10/10.
Overall, this drama did everything splendidly, and I am so sad that I have to let it go after 2 months, I wish I could forget it all so I can watch it again for the first time. I'm sure I'll rewatch from time to time (tomorrow, maybe hahah). If what you're looking for is a refreshing experience, I do certainly recommend this one right here. You won't be disappointed.
Perfection does not exist, but if it did and it came in the shape of a Korean television series, it would be Lovely Runner.

tell me why this has to end?
Now that we have two remaining episodes left I'm already feeling sepanxx over this and will surely feel this way for few weeks. The last time I got hooked by Kdramas is the year 2016 - 2017 where Kdramas are truly perfection you can binge watch one after another. It's the time when Kdrama is at it's peak.Nowadays it's really hard to finish one I have so many pending Kdramas in my list and I can't seem to find my motivation to finish them but this came along and Lovely Runner ended my longing for a really damn good Kdrama. This drama gave me the same feeling once again, the thrill and excitement that I feel in every episode made me want to watch this in just one day. It's a masterpiece that I've been craving for so long. This is a romcom heartfelt drama with a mix-up of thriller, nostalgic coming-of-age story.
I am so happy that I finally watch this after ignoring this from my recommendation for so long and to every person who haven't watch this yet, you are missing out a lot. Lovely Runner may not be on Netflix and does not have the highest ratings on Television but you can clearly see it's popularity and how well-received it is by the fans like me. If ever they decide to hold a concert for the fictional band Eclipse, I bet the tickets would be sold out. The OST and cinematography is exquisite. This drama is not overrated at all, it even deserves more than a 10 rating. I'm not yet ready to let this go. I will surely miss SolJae dimple couple <3

Absolutely Love
Let me start off by saying that I do not like time travel dramas. They typically confuse me, and my "too realistic" brain can't often process how these things work.Somehow, the time travel of Lovely Runner just works. The storyline is cute, heartwarming, and just overall enjoyable to watch. You'll go through a roller coaster of emotions, but none of it will be regrettable. The cast all did a superb job of capturing the essence of their characters, and the amazing reception that this drama received is full evidence of that. There were many "conspiracy" theories about various elements of the plot on Reddit, but honestly, a completely enjoyable read without needing to get into all that. A definite must watch!

Lovely Runner
Yes, I'm just conveying what I've seen, I initially saw that this drama was quite popular and the actors were really great. But after watching a few episodes I felt bored. Dramas like this are common and numerous, at least make a little difference. In fact I have watched the same drama and it was much better.Regarding the genre, sorry but I prefer twinkling wattermelon, it's much fresher and more complex even though it's the same type.

A masterpiece.
WHAT. A. DRAMA.This is gonna stay in my memories for so long, I have grown emotionally attached to the characters, the playfulness of some scenes, there was never a dull moment... It will be difficult to move on from this drama.
Watching it was like a rollercoaster ride.
Some scenes were simply hilarious, I genuinely laughed so much, while some scenes were heartbreaking, I couldn't stop myself from crying and resonate with Sol and Sun Jae. 🩵💛
The plot was written by one of the best scriptwriters of South Korea, Lee Si Eun.
She depicted the whole time slip story so well, logically and without loopholes.
Do we wanna talk about the cast?
Byun Woo Seok, you are a gem, now the whole world will understand how amazing you are.
Kim Hye Yoon, you are so talented, I could feel your emotions through my screen every time.
Seon Geon Hee, another little gem, can't wait to see you rise more and more.
And the supporting cast? Everybody did so well, uri halmoni, Sol's eomma and Sun Jae's appa, Baek In Hyuk... I need a friend like you in my life.
I need some time to process the fact that I won't have any more Sol and Sun Jae in my Mondays and Tuesdays.
How to move on?!
Anyway, guys start this drama if you still haven't, you won't regret it. 🥰

Lovely Runner Delivers from Start to Finish
The Korean series Lovely Runner stands out among countless others for its exceptional storytelling. Every scene is crafted with purpose, and each character, no matter how minor, contributes meaningfully to the plot. There are no wasted moments; every storyline is resolved, and the execution is so seamless that it avoids any cringe-worthy moments. This series is a testament to masterful direction and thoughtful writing. The series is packed with humor that will keep you laughing from the very first episode to the last. It never loses its charm and is crafted so well that it truly engages your emotions and takes you on an unforgettable journey.
The screenwriters and director of Lovely Runner were clearly in perfect harmony, as evidenced by the seamless execution of the series. The actors were perfectly cast and did full justice to the characters they portrayed, bringing the well-written script to life in a compelling and engaging way.
This is a show that I'd travel across time just to see.

2016 nostalgia. Possibly biased.
This drama surprised me: for the worldwide success, as well as the depth that went beyond a simple first love story. More than romance (believe me, it seems that it only exists in the screen), is feeling the fear and taking the plunge, and realising the people around you, possibly never finding out the little things they do when you're not looking.I never expected a slice of life drama to blow up the way this has. Didn't even watch the trailer before clicking solely for Kim Hye Yoon, and ended up being smitten for the male lead.
Being smacked with 2016 nostalgia (seriously...there's something about the 2016 air that brought the best dramas to memory) is the reason why Lovely Runner is another iconic drama to remember.
Of course, it has its flaws. So many flaws. But this work reminded me so strongly why I loved kdramas in the first place. Why I continued watching after a decade.
It took me back to 2016 back to my high school days, where adulthood hadn't kicked in yet. So maybe I'm biased and Lovely Runner's main theme of time moved me more than it should've.
Works in recent times have been noticed to be VERY disappointing despite the high budget. But LR proved you can have a simple drama (like the old times), and still move the viewer, stuffed with emotions and moments that will forever be embedded in the heart.
3 years of waiting, and the success couldn't be more deserved. Kim Hye Yoon got her co-star, and the role was meant for Byeon Wooseok. The universe does reward perseverance.

everything
i love taesang, At first I was confused by the storyline. but it turned out very good. Starting from the cast, to the acting, it is extraordinary. I really like Song Geon Hee in that drama. I really love him hahahahha. I really like the way Sun Jae looks at Sol, I get drunk with his gaze. with the song, oh my god what a good song Sunjae sings. and I really hate the evil character there, the taxi driver. but beyond all that, everything is very interesting and very good to watch with friends, lovers or family.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Best romcom
This drama was so good.. I’m so glad I gave this a chance. The characters, the OSTs, the chemistry.. truly the best romcomI haven’t been able to finish a drama in a long time but this one got me hooked from the first episode. There were so many funny and emotional moments, seriously it‘s so good and it gives me 2016 kdrama vibes. I‘m so sad it‘s over and this will definitely be one of the dramas I will rewatch many times.
