Taiwan does it again
Taiwan doesn't produce a lot of shows but when they do.. it's a masterpiece... I'm really impressed by the plot... I love the comedic element but I'm really impressed by the use of sign language and that both actors took the time to learn it.. and the lead is completely doing the entire show in sign language, bringing much needed awareness to the deaf community. haven't seen much talk of this but I hope more people tune into it.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Uma boa história é uma história autosuficiente
Até onde assisti (episódio 6), essa série está me surpreendendo. Não há um enredo super complicado por trás da produção e isso é o que a torna tão preciosa. Essa série não necessita de um enxurrada de elementos para prender a atenção dos telespectadores; ela já o faz apenas com a sua simplicidade. Ao mesmo tempo em que eu exalto o caráter simples do enredo, tenho de admitir que sua carga emocional, se bem analisada, é bastante densa e carregada de uma baita importância, sendo construída em cima de dois aspectos principais: as experiências de um garoto ferido pela família e a representação de um personagem deficiente auditivo. Essa convergência de histórias traz algo encantador à obra, que, interpretada por atores talentosíssimos, prende-te por todo o episódio.De verdade, recomendo muito dar-lhe uma chance; você não irá se arrepender 🤭.

A special value of this movie is that the character of the "bad boy" Yang Zi Cheng (Zi Xiang's cousin) also changes over time due to his openness.
And in the same way, the thinking and character of Zheng Yu Nong and Song Shu He also develop in a good direction.
All the actors were excellent, but I would still highlight Raiden Lin's performance. He is a very talented actor!

Near perfection.
I went into this series not knowing anything about it and I'm so glad I did. This was a beautiful story made even more so by the actor's performances. One the surface, the plot doesn't seem all that original but rest assured, no one had done it like this before. (Or if they have, I've yet to come across it.)The only thing holding this back from being a 10 from me is the unresolved confusion either the brother/cousin... did he love Sean? Did he hate him? Did he resent him? Did he want to help him be free of the family? I honestly don't know what his motive was or what the point of him was.
I'm also kind of on the fence about the secondary couple.. I mean, they were cute at times but it felt forced without much time to really develop. Also, the whole thing about needing "liquid courage" might make sense for teenagers and university students but seriously, these guys are too old for that. But I guess it was part of Xin Jia's charm of being naive and essentially a lost puppy.
There aren't enough words to describe how brilliant Jin Yun's performance as Shao Peng was. He showed so much emotion and inner turmoil without needing to speak or use inflection in tone. It was heartbreaking when he finally lost the last bit of his resolve and it was powerful when he found his own strength and allowed love to find him for who he was.
If a series could immerse me so deep to have me shedding a tear, then that is a true testament to the storytelling, acting and delivery of such powerful emotions to justify rating the series high in my book. I already can not wait to rewatch it sometime in the near future.

Im soo glad I found this drama! Such a beautiful, loving way of portraying love between two drastically different individuals, and each struggling with his own short-comings!It’s a true comfort drama, with impeccable acting by the main leads. The communication with sign language is so well done, its at the right pace, right time, and not over-whelming or hard to follow. All characters were great, loved the casting! I really can't imagine anyone else playing Zixiang and Jeng Shaopeing! They have such great chemistry!
Oh and the DIALOGUES! The writers did such a great job with the dialogues and delivery! The right kind of anger, frustration, love, sadness, everything was great!
I hope this show gets a lot of awards! It absolutely deserves all of it! Absolute masterpiece 👏!

I wish this series to be a longer.
Started this without anticipating much but here I am, loving every part of the series. The chemistry between the main leads are to die for and ther acting. The way they do the sign language is something I very much appreciate and admire. How I wish this series to be at least 1 hour long, how I didn't want to finish it and how I wish forget this series just to watch it all over again. The way Yang Zi Xiang convey his true feelings to Shao (while waiting for shao's mother at hospital) and the way Shao tears fall down listening (touching zi xiang's neck) his name don't have a word to describe how beautiful it was. 💜Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

"I like you just as you are" <3
This one made me MELT; love love love these two - they're both so sweet and real and take such good care of each other, yet make each other stronger at the same time. The story is believable and the acting is excellent as well. I rewatched it the instant it ended.Second romance is forgettable and has some questionable power imbalances and sex-with-an-inebriated person.
(TW: sex assault in ep 8. And there is no blame here to the victim for their actions immediately following something so horrific - we can all act on impulse when traumatized)

An absolute master piece
This is the first Taiwanese bl ive ever watched, and i just have to say that its absolutely majestic. The acting was so good and it felt so natural and believable. The storyline is light and such a comforting one, but it still has some heavy parts, and touches on real life problems faced with same sex relationships, so good one to the writers. Sweet and cute show!
A must watch bl! Storyline moves quick, but great to watch. I thought this would be a cringed show, but the actors did a great job. Ending could've been a little longer, but it was greqt happy ending! Sheng Peng is too adorable. Both male leads have great chemistry!!! BETTER than expected
I went into this series expecting nothing much and was only planning on just checking out ep 1. The series glued me on till the very last episode!!!The chemistry of the two male leads, the acting, and the plot of the story was great.
Shao Pheng was such a dear! I'm not a sign language expert and don't sign, but the signs were so beautifully done! I'm not sure if they were signing correctly, but it looked pretty convincing!
Loved every episode ❤️. And loved the chemistry with the two main couple❤️

The Leads are adorable
A MUST WATCH!The relationship between the leads doesn't feel forced or contrived the chemistry is so good that it feels very real and organic. The rest of the story feels a bit choppy and the villian arc with the cousin feels a bit forced and incomplete. But i've only taken 1.5 stars away from the story because the love story between the leads gives you the best kind of butterflies without being over the top or cheesy.
What i love is that for a story about a person with disabilities for once it doesn't feel like it's from an ableist lense. Shao-peng isn't shown as some sad sympathetic characters which we see in so many dramas that have characters with disabilities in them, he is head strong person who knows what he wants. How he teaches Zi-xiang to take responsibility of his life without even trying is beautiful. Similarly Zi-xiang is constantly dictated expectation by others no one actually wants to listen to him, he is voiceless even with a voice. By learning sign language not only finds his voice but also helps Shao-peng come to terms with his own past hurts. The shows portrayal of healing is very natural and beautifully done.

Deaf people can do everything but hearing.
The first episode didn't convince me to keep watching, but luckily I almost always force myself to keep going and in this case it was definitely worth it. The actors (mainly the main characters, but of course, it also applies to the others) got into their roles perfectly. They gave the characters not only life, but above all humanity and something that makes them truly themselves.While Shao Peng is a total sweetheart, I'd prefer to smother Zi Xiang with a pillow or at least tape his mouth shut and keep his mouth shut for a while. But the characters quickly become close, and after a little drama, the annoying Zi Xiang becomes a completely new person. His character development was incredible, and all of that only for Shao Peng, for whom he was willing to do anything just to stay with him. I liked the most when he said: "I'm goot at languages, this is just one of them. It's your language."
My 2025 resolution is to learn sign language, and with it jumping out at me from every direction now, I think I'll actually get around to it. I think we could all do without the drama in the last two episodes, so I'm just going to pretend nothing happened and that it was just a dream, because otherwise I'd have to take the star off, which I think is See your love does not deserve.
