Bride of the Century Episode 7 Reacties
Ah, now how Doo Rim is pulled back into pretending to be Yi Kyung was done quite nicely. It shows how Doo Rim is too nice and easily made prey. But it's a great way to show how much her feelings have grown for Kang Ju. At this point it hasn't truly hit her that she loves him, though she kind of comes out with it at one point. But I'm surprised that Doo Rim is not one bit concerned how her pretending to be Kang Ju's bride isn't a horrible betrayal to him. And I'm starting to wonder when this will hit. Or even become a discussion? Doo Rim is too amazing for this kind of . . . wrong doing to not hit a nerve with her. Especially with the trust issues Kang Ju has.
Oh, and I am loving how the guardian or the house, or the vengeful spirit is coming along. The actress is so beautiful and I love how she dramatizes the role. Whether she's being an evil ghost, guardian spirit, or a human diva. Ghost stories are kind of a weakness with me, and seeing Bride of the Century mix a normal drama romance into a ghost story is tons of fun!
Overall I love the idea of Doo Rim "winning" Kang Ju back. The story isn't slowing down and I'm looking forward to seeing how things wrap up with all the various devious plots accumulating to a nice boil here.
The acting of Sung Hyuk really surprised me. Because I've stepped away from feeling creeped out about his feelings for Doo Rim. Now I'm really sad for him and want things to work out for his character Yi Hyun. I really hope that a character *cough* Joo Shin*cough* can be setup as a romantic interest for him.
Oh, and the average music for took a pleasant turn when Lee Hong Ki's own OST song for the drama came on. Very moving. It's one of my favorite parts about having someone who can sing in a drama, when they can add their voices to the music.
Now apart from the fact that Doorim is slowly growing more annoying (sucks, I really liked her talking back to people and not being too clueless about things), my problem with this episode occured in the 'breaking up' scene. So, I don't have anything about the whole 'native-good-girl-that-just-wants-to-help-everybody' concept (i wouldnt be watching this if i was lol) BUT if they're going to pull that, they should stick to it. Kangju tells her, he's breaking up because of her personality - apperantly he wants someone smart and chic. Someone, who's not going to go viral in a cake eating contest video (go figure).
Even a kdrama lead can tell that the real Yikyung meets all the requirments.
Since Doorim knows that a called-off wedding will be the end for "Oppa"s family because uh buisness and they will go bankrupt..(might have to rewatch the first episode again heh) AND her being all 'omg i have to help them i have to tell him something that will change his mind quick'.
I kept waiting for Doorim to tell that he doesn't have to call of the wedding because she isn't the actual Yikyung. And that the actual Yikyung isn't like her at all. You know, just tell him everything basically.
I thought, that maybe she didn't tell him because she was too shocked and sad about him basically breaking her heart. So I waited. Maybe she was at least going to voice that idea (of telling Kangju everything) to someone. She didn't.
I don't know why this frustrated me so much but it did and I kinda wanted to comment somewhere on that so yeah.
Anyway, I'm going right now to watch 8th episode. This is sooo good :D
