Idol and actress Lee Hye Ri has taken legal action against malicious commenters.
On January 23, the actress's agency Sublime officially stated, "We have been keeping track of defamation, sexual harassment, insults, and malicious false information spreading [about our artist] online."
"In October last year, we determined that we could no longer overlook these criminal acts, and based on the data collected, we filed criminal complaints against dozens of individuals. The investigative authorities are currently investigating the cases we reported."
They added, "Moving forward, we will continue to monitor and take legal action against any criminal acts targeting our artists. Furthermore, under no circumstances will we reach settlements with the perpetrators or seek leniency for them. We plan to respond with firm measures."
Earlier last year, Lee Hye Ri was embroiled in a scandal with her ex, Ryu Jun Yeol, with whom she had been in a relationship for about seven years, and who was seeing Han So Hee. With Han So Hee's involvement, many suspected she was the reason for Lee Hye Ri and Ryu Jun Yeol's separation. This led to rumors and malicious comments circulating online.
Notably, in October of the same year, a rumor spread that Han So Hee herself was one of Hye Ri's malicious commenters, which exacerbated the wave of negative comments directed at Hye Ri.
