5 Reasons to watch The Princess Wei Young
#1 Dazzling Cast
And I really mean dazzling; everyone is so radiant. Casting in combination with wardrobe, hair and makeup is so incredibly visually pleasing. This drama has some of the most beautiful historical cinematography captured for you to enjoy. The wardrobe is really worth mentioning.
The attention to detail, colors and use of accessories play a huge part in contributing to the historical time period this story takes place in.
The main cast are so regal in their looks. From hand maidens to princess, and a household of Rival sisters, everyone is looking their best. Not to mention a surplus of hair accessories to the extreme as these ladies are always looking to impress.
Even the opening and ending credits are beautiful works of art.
#2 Wei Young
The Wei Young who we follow through the story early on is not the actual Wei Young, no spoiler this is all episode one-two stuff. Xin Er (played by Tang Tiffany) is a former princess whose family was annihilated and she managed to escape.
The real Wei Young who was driven from her father's home due standing as being illegitimate child comes across Xin Er who is sick and passed out in the forest. She brings her home and does her best to nurse her back to health while trying to keep her Aunt appeased.
All too soon the request for the real Wei Young to return home is received. But Wei Young's cruel stepmother attempts to have her assassinated and succeeds.
#3 An Assumed Identity
With Wei Young dead, Xin Er assumes her identity to avenge her fallen friend but also to survive and seek vengeance for her own family, not to mention to ‘stay alive’.
With a character carrying the secret burden and ‘act’ of being someone they are not, only adds to their depth and dynamic of their personality and growth as both Xin Er and assumed Wei Young. For viewers this is a very intriguing plot line.
Thus the excitement and adventure for Wei Young (Xin Er) begins. She proves to be a strong, charismatic young woman who later attracts the attention of a handsome prince Tuo Ba Jun (played by Luo Jin) due to their 'by-chance' encounters.
He rescues her on more than one occasion.
(aww he doesn't want to ^_^ )
She is also incredibly beautiful but he’s pretty darn good looking too!
How sweet is this historical Ship
#4 House Politics
In the main household there is a lot going on. From back stabbing maids, to family feuds, to grudges and continuous plotting. While we root for the honest to goodness characters to prevail over wicked ones.
There is quite the ruling of rank going on, and they certainly like to use that card whenever they can to cut one another down. With the original Wei Young's step-siblings.
Wei Young is talented in deflecting most negativity that is spun her way with grace and kindness making her a cool heroine to look up to.
But there is a rival for her Prince now!
However, just how far are the snide, spiteful and hateful characters willing to sink until they get their just desserts?
#5 Romance
Attraction and romance seem right around the corner and with spoiler visuals in the opening and ending credits. We can kind of guess who will be paired up together as there are a handful of pretty girls and equal amount of handsome guys.
It will be lovely to see the storylines of these various pairings unfold as the The Princess Wei Young appears to be a very promising Chinese Historical.
