Bae Suzy is in talks to lead the new Coupang Play's original series "Anna"
According to several news outlets on July 8th, Bae Suzy will be the main lead for the upcoming drama "Anna" that will be helmed by "A Single Rider" director, Lee Joo Young. Reports also stated that Bae Suzy has been careful in picking her next project after "Start-Up" and she has finally decided on "Anna" because of her trust in the director and the drama's script.
Bae Suzy's agency Management Soop confirmed the reports that their artist received the casting offer and she is positively reviewing it.
"Anna" was originally planned to be released as a movie but the production recently changed it to an eight-part drama.
The upcoming series will narrate the story of a woman who lives another person's life, just like Ripley's syndrome. Bae Suzy got the offer to play as Anna.
The drama will reportedly begin its filming in the second half of the year after finalizing its major casting.
"Anna" will be added to the original series lineup of Coupang Play. If Bae Suzy accepts the casting offer, her drama will be the follow-up series in the OTT platform after Kim Soo Hyun's "One Ordinary Day."
Bae Suzy last starred in the hit drama 2020 drama "Start-Up" with Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seon Ho, and Kang Han Na. She will also star in the upcoming film titled "Wonderland" with Park Bo Gum, Choi Woo Shik, Jung Yu Mi, and more.
The idol-actress has been active in both dramas and movies. She was part of the dramas "Vagabond" with Lee Seung Gi, "While You Were Sleeping" with Lee Jong Suk, "Uncontrollably Fond" with Kim Woo Bin, "Big" with Gong Yoo, and more. She also starred in several movies such as "Live Your Strength," "Ashfall," "The Sound of a Flower," and "Architecture 101".
