The actors of the soon-to-be-released Netflix series Gyeongseong Creature shared their reasons for choosing the drama.

The press conference of Gyeongseong Creature was held on December 19, which was attended by director Jung Dong Yoon and actors Park Seo JoonHan So HeeKim Su HyunKim Hae Sook, and Jo Han Chul

At the press conference, Park Seo Joon said, "Upon reading the story, I found it captivating."

He continued, "I've always liked the works of writer Kang Eun Kyung, and this became an opportunity to collaborate." He added, "Also, it is a drama that gave me a chance to work with Han So Hee. It was a pleasant experience."

Han So Hee, who co-stars with Park Seo Joon for the first time, shared her reason for joining the drama, saying, "I found director Jung Dong Yoon's previous work, Hot Stove League, quite entertaining. The setting of the era was the most appealing."

Making a comeback after a hiatus of almost two years, Kim Su Hyun remarked, "Getting a project such as this itself made me happy. Within this scale, the small conflicts and  the nuanced emotions between characters seemed difficult, but I felt like it would be a work that would allow me to grow [as an actor] if I challenge myself."

Veteran actress Kim Hae Sook shared, "The narrative that combined a historical backdrop with [the fantasy element of] a creature was refreshing. I had faith in the writer and director. There was no reason not to choose this. The actors I worked with were people I [always] wanted to collaborate with. I was really happy."

Veteran actor Jo Han Chul stated, "The script was excellent. I also enjoyed the director's previous work. Whenever a project proposal comes, I wonder who the actors will be [who I'll be working with]. There were actors I wanted to work with, so there was no reason not to do it. And Yoon Jong Won is a character with a melodramatic story, and that's what made me want to try it."

Part 1 of Gyeongseong Creature will be released on December 22, and Part 2 on January 5.
