Esom and Yoo Yeon Seok will possibly work together in a new SBS K-drama
Ha Jung Woo's fourth film as a director will feature a star-studded lineup.
On December 12, it was announced that confirmed casts Ha Jung Woo and Gong Hyo Jin will be joined by Kim Dong Wook and Lee Ha Nee. They will lead the upcoming movie titled The People Upstairs.
The People Upstairs will tell the story of two married couples who had an encounter due to noise complaints between apartments. The couple also decided to have dinner together.
This will be the fourth directorial project of actor Ha Jung Woo. He previously did the films Fasten Your Seatbelt, Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, and the upcoming movie Lobby led by Park Byung Eun, Kim Eui Sung, Kang Mal Geum, Kwak Sun Young, and Lee Dong Hwi.
The People Upstairs will begin filming on January 7, 2025. Writer Lee Cha Yeon and Sun Seung Yeon will work with Ha Jung Woo in the upcoming film. According to reports, the movie will premiere in Korean theaters next year.
Ha Jung Woo and Lee Ha Nee will portray the role of a married couple while Gong Hyo Jin and Kim Dong Wook will be the other married couple in the same apartment complex.
This will be the reunion work of Ha Jung Woo and Kim Dong Wook. The two previously worked together in the films Hijack 1971, Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds, Along With the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days, and Take Off 1. Meanwhile, this will be the first time that Lee Ha Nee will work with Ha Jung Woo.
This year, Kim Dong Wook led the Disney+ K-drama Seoul Busters with Park Ji Hwan, Seo Hyun Woo, Park Se Wan, Lee Seung Woo, and Son Eun Seo. The People Upstairs will be Kim Dong Wook's first confirmed project next year.
On the other hand, this will be Lee Ha Nee's first confirmed film for next year. She will also star in the upcoming K-dramas Aema, Show Business, and Klaus 47. The actress is currently appearing in the SBS series The Fiery Priest Season 2.
