"Hero" Attracts More Than 3 Million Cinemagoers, "Physical: 100" Rank Among the Top Shows on Netflix

According to Film Promotion Committee, the Korean movie "Hero" has attracted more than 3 million cumulative audiences since its release on December 21, 2022. The movie surpassed Hyun Bin's "The Point Men". So far, the Yoon Je Kyun-directed movie has attracted 3,001,000 moviegoers.Set in the early 1900s, "Hero" is a musical drama movie that tells a true story of the South Korean independence struggle. The tale revolves around Ahn Jung Geun (Jung Sung Hwa) - an independence activist who plans to assassinate Itō Hirobumi (Kim Sung Rak), the first Prime Minister of Japan and Resident-General of Korea. Accompanying him is Seol Hee (Kim Go Eun) who used to be a court lady for Queen Myeongseong. But after the Queen's assassination by the Japanese, she decides to join the Korean independence struggle and becomes a geisha to spy on Ito Hirobumi. The duo then concoct a plan to assassinate the Resident-General. 

Kim Go Eun exudes grace and sophistication in her historical costume, whereas Jung Sung Hwa portrays a heroic image of the patriot Ahn Jung Geun. The film also casts Bae Jung NamLee Hyun Woo, Park Jin JooJo Jae Yoon, and Jo Woo Jin, among others.

The movie is currently not streaming on OTT platforms. 


The recently-released Korean reality show "Physical: 100" has secured a spot on the list of 'Top TV Shows On Netflix'. According to FlixPatrol, "Physical: 100" ranked 5th among the top 10 shows on Netflix in the world on January 27.   

Fans are showing keen interest in the competition series and are calling it a "real-life Squid Game". The show is a survival game where men and women (from different occupations, ethnicities, and age groups) use their physical strength to compete against each other in grueling challenges to win a cash prize of 300 million won.
