After two years of hiatus due to her drunk driving incident, Kim Sae Ron will officially return to acting.
On April 17, it was officially confirmed that Kim Sae Ron will be joining the upcoming play Dongchimi. The production company of the play, The Globe Theater," revealed the cast of the upcoming play including Kim Sae Ron. The play will be held at CTS Art Hall in Seoul on May 3 until May 12. Kim Sae Ron will portray the role of a younger daughter in the play.
This will be the first official project of Kim Sae Ron since her drunk driving incident. In 2022, Kim Sae Ron was convicted of drunk driving and was fined 20 million Korean won (approximately $14,500). Because of this, she stopped all her professional activities.
Just last month, Kim Sae Ron made headlines after she released a photo of her with actor Kim Soo Hyun and sparked a dating rumor. The actress abruptly deleted the photo but many already took a screenshot of it. Because of this, there were divided opinions against the actress and her reason for releasing the photo at the time that Kim Soo Hyun's K-drama is currently ongoing.
Kim Sae Ron was last seen in the 2021 K-drama The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim with Nam Da Reum, Yoo Sun Ho, Moon Sung Geun, Yoon Seok Hwa, and Bae Hae Seon.
The actress participated in the filming of the Netflix original K-drama Bloodhounds which was released last year. Because of her controversy, most of her scenes were edited out.
Kim Sae Ron started her career as a child actress. She is known for being part of the K-dramas Mirror of the Witch, Glamorous Temptation, Hi! School - Love On, The Queen's Classroom, Can You Hear My Heart, and the films Ordinary People, Snowy Road, Manhole, and The Man from Nowhere.
