The Childe is generating buzz as an upcoming summer blockbuster that promises to be a thrill-filled flick, incorporating high-octane car chases to intense gunfire. On June 1, the production team released a gripping poster and a trailer for the movie.
The poster showcases riveting images of Gwi Gong Ya (Kim Seon Ho), Han Yi Sa (Kim Kang Woo), Yun Ju (Go Ah Ra), and Marco (Kang Tae Joo).
From the unidentified chaser Gwi Gong Ya, whose sly smile conceals deadly intentions as he unleashes chaos in Marco's life, to the tenacious Han Yi Sa, whose eyes burn with determination to chase down Marco, and the enigmatic Yun Ju, whose chance encounters with Marco raise intrigue, the trailer and the poster raise the inevitable question, 'Why is everyone after Marco?'.
The trailer commences with Gwi Gong Ya (Kim Seon Ho) casually whistling while setting his hair. The scene then shifts to Marco (Kang Tae Joo), who is all bruised from boxing, and Gwi Gong Ya observing him in and outside the ring.
The following scene shows Marco getting on a plane to South Korea to raise money for his mother's surgery, and on the flight, he meets Gwi Gong Ya, who tells him he is a friend to him. What follows is the relentless cat-and-mouse chase between the duo.
While chasing, Gwi Gong Ya proudly boasts, "I've never missed a target, I'm a pro, a professional expert".
The trailer seamlessly portrays Marco's desperation to escape, as he unwillingly becomes the target of all.
The Childe is a story of a struggling boxer, Marco, whose father is of Korean descent and whose mother belongs to the Philippines. The young man, whose mother is now sick, comes to South Korea to find his father, only to encounter dangerous and powerful forces chasing him.
The movie will be released on June 21. Watch the trailer here.
