The Wavve original drama The Deal has officially confirmed its release date for October 6th (Friday) and has unveiled a captivating poster and an intriguing teaser.
The two posters provide a glimpse into the harrowing kidnapping scenario involving three friends, a situation that was a result of a split-second decision. The characters; Lee Jun Seong (Yoo Seung Ho), wearing an anguished expression; Song Jae Hyo (Kim Dong Hwi), exuding a chilling demeanor; and Park Min Woo (Yoo Soo Bin), who finds himself tied up, ignite curiosity about the events that unfold within the room. Additionally, the clever tagline, "Today, we're trading our friend", not only introduces a novel storyline but also promises the thrills expected from a kidnapping thriller.
The accompanying teaser gives a glimpse into the escalating tension, raw emotions, and conflicts among the three friends as the incident unfolds. The raspy breath of Min Woo, which can be heard from the closet in their apartment, and the nervy attempts of Jun Seong and Jae Hyo to conceal their true identities intensify the suspense.
The situation takes a dramatic turn when Min Woo, the abducted friend, confronts Jun Seong and Jae Hyo, demanding to know if they are the ones who have tied him up. The escalating face-off between Jae Hyo, who seeks a ransom for Min Woo, and the infuriated Jun Seong, along with the suspicions of Soo An (Lee Joo Young), a police officer living next door, injects an unpredictable twist into the unfolding narrative. Finally, the revelation that the seemingly accidental kidnapping is misconstrued as the work of professionals adds further intrigue to the unfolding of The Deal.
The Deal has been invited to the On Screen section of the Busan International Film Festival, one of Asia's largest film festivals, and is generating much anticipation as one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the last quarter of 2023.
