My favourite Japanese series
Best to start the list before I start getting confused :)

1. Kinou Nani Tabeta?
Japanese Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Romance within a relationship between two gay men in the 40s. Slice of life, centered around food and their idiosyncratic ways of expressing their feelings for each other. It's just perfect.
-
2. Bokura no Shokutaku
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
The World's Cutest Kid and Most Adorable Wingman, BL's best father, and two young men who've both been through a lot bond over simple homemade food, friendship and the kid.
Overflowing with love and warmth. It is absolutely worth seeking out.

3. Ghost Girl and My Love
Japanese Drama - 2022, 4 episodes
Small gem with many facets; plot is simple enough but everything else intertwines.
Gentle love story between two women, emphasising how the support of another can help you find confidence in yourself. It's ultimately about taking risks, both in love and art. Beautiful, sensuous love scene too, befitting a story about a visual artist and a writer.

4. 1 Litre no Namida
Japanese Drama - 2005, 11 episodes
-
5. 30Sai made Doteida to Mahotsukai ni Narerurashi
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
They did kiss. Ach, so what if we didn't see it? :)
-
6. Brush Up Life
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
The best I've seen for female friendships.
It took a wee while for me to get into it but I'm really glad I stuck with it.
-
7. Jack Frost
Japanese Drama - 2023, 6 episodes
-
8. Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo
Japanese Drama - 2023, 5 episodes
Lovely little story of young love.
-
9. Kieta Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Cute comedy about high school crushes and friendship. Not sure how to read the comedy around the central character. Good girl characters too.
