8. My Sassy Girl
Korean Movie - 2001
Boy meets drunk psycho on the subway and much mayhem and boyfriend abuse ensues. Started OK, then got absurdly silly, but finished strong. I wouldn't watch it again, but I'm not sorry I watched it the first time. A classic starring Jun Ji Hyun

12. Classic
Korean Movie - 2003
Kdrama classic that has been hard to find in the US. Not great by modern standards, but it is definitely worth a watch if for no other reason than seeing future stars young Son Je Jin and Zo In Sung. Fun fact: The soundtrack features the mega-hit "Me To You, You To Me," which itself uses the same chord progression as Pachelbel's Canon in D Major which softly supports the first 20 minutes, or so, of the movie.

19. The Beast and the Beauty
Korean Movie - 2005
Super dumb take on the Beauty & the Beast with the early 2000s blindness trope. Worthwhile only to see Shin Min Ah in early, early career.
Available on multiple mainstream streaming sites.

20. Madeleine
Korean Movie - 2003

21. Crazy First Love
Korean Movie - 2003

22. Lover's Concerto
Korean Movie - 2002
A gentle story with more than a tinge of melancholy. I watched it for Son Ye Jin, but the real star of the show was Cha Tae Hyun, who played Ji Hwan, the young man at the center of the love triangle.

23. Failan

24. ...ing
Korean Movie - 2003
Lim Soo Jung in an early role. Her name has turned up on several recommended lists from this era. She must have been one of the "it" girls at the time. She's good, but the storyline is more than a bit overly dramatic, something I've seen in a lot of dramas/movies from this era of Korean entertainment.

Korean Movie - 2006

26. Innocent Steps
Korean Movie - 2005

27. Seducing Mr. Perfect
Korean Movie - 2006
Standard romcom fare. Pure fluff. Hammy acting, hackneyed plot, lots of clumsy spoken English. Uhm Jung Hwa is cute enough, but I'm not sure what Daniel Henney is doing here. He doesn't speak a lick of Korean and forcing the other actors to speak English in so many scenes was painful at times. This one is proof that I will watch any romcom whose clips are posted on Youtube. yeesh.
Available on multiple mainstream streaming sites.
