dramas that have left such a great impact to how i live my life or have left me very much attached to its cast

1. Racket Boys
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
jun sang of course was the first reason, but then i also realized that i knew 3/5th of the boys from the team and oh na ra so ofcourse it pushed me even more to start it. i was worried initially since it felt like watching an anime but the slice of lifeness of it and the youthness it screams and blooms is just so beautiful. it's super refreshing and i am so so glad it's not rotating around the idea of romantic love but other kinds of heartwarming love

2. Untitled Park Ji Eun Project
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
the whole thing got me kicking screaming out of butterflies i genuinely couldn't stop smiling. i've been enjoying marriage couple tropes whether that be contracts or reloving divorced couples so this was so right for that but i didn't expect such an amazing chemistry and such lovely scenes in the couple here and i love it so so so much. more than that, soohyun and jiwon were such amazing actors they really brought the whole thing to life and their sincerity towards their craft warms my heart so much. the writing wasn't perfect but it was amazing the pacing was so nice the first few episodes too and the twists really put me on the edge of my seat daily. i rewatched the whole thing twice while waiting for the next episode and it was genuinely insane because i have never done that to a drama. it greatly changed my perspective on marriage as well. i don't necessarily not believe in marriage but ive seen more unhappy ones than actual happy ones and i didn't want to experience that because it seems so scary that someone that gives you so much happiness could also be the source of so much pain. asian marriage also isn't the best with the world of in-laws as well, but the drama really showed the good sides of marriage of how theres just this natural calling of running to someone on both happy and sad days, and relying on someone. i think having that type of "home"-like person really sold me since it was portrayed so so beautifully here.

3. It's Okay, That's Love
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
has changed me in a way wherein i put myself in others' shoes first to understand the situation
-
4. Move to Heaven
Korean Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
of course my initial thought was that i wanted to watch it because of lee jaewook and tang jun sang, an actor that has captivated me since crash landing but the character development, the plot overall, the stories it tells every episode and the morals behind the concept, the acting omygohd - im in love with everything !!

5. My Father is Strange
Korean Drama - 2017, 52 episodes
very much attached to its cast and how many little and big problems in a day-to-day life was portrayed.
-
6. My Mister
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
it was a recommendation upon watching move to heaven and my father is strange so i gave it a try. the portrayal of the relationship may feel uncomfortable but it was more like respect and love in the lenses of an adult and a younger person - kinda like a father and daughter. it's super raw and warm and it portrays different love languages of different forms of love - love towards siblings, significant others, friends, direct families, and the warmth of unity of a neighborhood. i also genuinely empathize with the main dude. it was probably his struggle due to being a middle child and all but seeing someone that kinda got me even though he was fictional really comforted me - although of course his story is way more complicated than mine as a teen

7. Once Again
Korean Drama - 2020, 100 episodes
it was so similar to my father is strange but i saw a few familiar faces here so it was cute. the chemistry is amazing and i fell in love with sangyeob
-
8. SKY Castle
Korean Drama - 2018, 20 episodes
something so real and controversial. it became much impactful because i can empathize real-time since i watched this during the time i was preparing for college exams too
-
9. Handmade Love
Korean Special - 2020, 8 episodes
it deals with alot of self-reflecting kind of portrayal. it also tackles relationships between lovers, parents, and one's self
-
10. Zoeken: WWW
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
jaewook is the first reason. second, is how calm and collected the women are in here. I love how it revolves around the women and never really side tracked. it didnt focus way too much on romance and i appreciate that alot
-
11. DoDoSolSolLaLaSol
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
jaewook is the first reason, and ara is the second. it was just super refreshing and the cast is just cute and funny. i also am deeply attached to the rearrangements of the piano here and have led me to listen to classical music more often
-
12. Page Turner
Korean Special - 2016, 3 episodes
something so short and impactful i just love how straight to the point it was. it was very bittersweet and i got too attached to the trio despite it being so short. i watched this after do do sol sol la la sol and have heightened to my interests in classical music
-
13. School 2017
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
another coming of age drama that talks about injustices in school. the romance part is very fluffy and cute and i enjoy watching that. on top of it the leads are my crushes and the reason why i watched it in the first place. but above all, i really like how they didn't dwell too much on the romance part and really showed growth and justice for the characters,,, although it would have been nice too if the director was punished since it was pushed to the side too fast,,, the injustice their friend went through wasn't as tackled but junghyun's acting kinda makes it up for it

14. Hospital Playlist
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
both seasons but i didn't want it to look to clustered. coming from someone who used to dream about becoming a doctor, i really love how realistic it seems. now that's not exactly accurate because i never became a med student (i backed out because i got too scared at how hard it will be). i just love how it shows glimpses of what everyone goes through in the hospital - like a look at interns, residents, professors and so on. I also love how realistic the 5 seems to be. Their hangouts can really be heartwarming but it realistically gets cut off because of emergency calls and I love that side of it. I also love how mature the romantic scenes are and thats probably because it's a slice-of-life drama featuring 40-yr olds but I just love how it isn't cringey and how such scenes don't overlap the overall warmth the drama brings.
The cast also just has amazing chemistry as well and I have so much respect to the cast for being able to memorize hard medical terms, and practice band songs despite being beginners.
Again, as a supposedly-med-student, this drama really woke me up. I have many health-allied friends the drama made me want to make sure I'll be a friend they can run through whenever they feel down.

15. Our Beloved Summer
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
it has something that makes me go watch it again. just recently, i rewatched it for the 6th time and loved it even more. before, i liked it because the mutual longing and lingering feelings tugs your heart but this rewatch made me cry a lot because the three children grew up to be amazing adults and while it took them 29 ++ years to finally start healing, i am so so so proud of them and their progress as individuals. from the cinematography down to the soundtrack, and even the cast, everything about this drama is so beautiful. it helps you see how fresh your youth is and the progress in relationship of people who grow together.

16. Cheer Up, Mr. Kim!
Korean Drama - 2012, 124 episodes
the first k-drama i watched, the story was nice but tbh i barely remember it but would want to rewatch it
i rewatched it and it wasn't that good ,, i like the initial thought of taking care of kids though so i love that aspect of it and i still am attached to the children cast but aside from that, the romance aspect and drama aspect was too weird and cringey but still it's the first drama i watched so i still am very attached to it
-
17. Eulachacha Waikiki
Korean Drama - 2018, 20 episodes
it was so refreshing and very slice-of-life so i enjoyed laughing at the cast and had a very big crush on junghyun
-
18. Reply 1988
Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes
it was a coming of age drama which is the reason why i got attached really fast. i love the portrayal of love in all forms - especially orienting around family love. it takes place during 88 - it was very interesting to see how people were living during that time. it had similar vibes to my mom's youth too it was cool. i also hate timeskips but the timeskips here are so smooth and well planned out. the ending has a great closure too so i moved on as fast
-
19. 18 Again
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
cried so much empathizing with the main character ; also omg dohyun is such an amazing actor i fell in love
-
20. Because This is My First Life
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
slice of life and romance but super duper mature omygohd im in love with the vision of it and the challenge to go against contrvertial asian thoughts towards marriage
-
21. Hwarang
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
nothing too special, quite cliche tbh but !! the cast is just so high class. go ara is just a pure jewel - this is where i first met her and i fell in love with her style of acting. aside from that, the rest of the men cast rlly stuck by what they were labeled as, real flower boys - they were such an adorable tight group
-
22. Go Ahead
Chinese Drama - 2020, 46 episodes
the concept was honestly so pretty and heartwarming already and i love it. I just love the dynamic of the family and thinking about having two fathers raising three children - love thicker than blood - is just so pretty and I love it so much. I really don't like the romantic aspects of it though but whenever there was a scene of the family eating and talking together, I feel insanely warm inside. One particular concept I love is the father really being insanely hands-on towards their children. I love how they really were a parent instead of a life-long babysitter, and the love they tried to show was flawlessly portrayed. I love how both of them are called dads instead of uncles as it really just puts in a totally different emotion to it. A particular scene I can't forget is one of the brothers talking about how he wrote a letter towards his non-biological father instead of his biological father showing how insanely close the family was.
-
23. Go Back Couple
Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
the pain of being past lovers, slowly appreciating each other from a distance, realizing how much they love each other again, and then meeting each other all over again. my favorite line was "i love our son, but to me you are more precious" and I just personally think that loving your spouse more than your child is an insane amount of love portrayed
i just love the slowburn of it and the very unconscious forms of love built from familiarity. as a person who prefers familiarity over butterfly-ness kinda love i just am insanely attached to it and the climax of the drama never fails to make me cry
-
24. Thirty Nine
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
it was very warm and very real. because it featured a bunch of adults, it was more mature and more straightforward and i really liked that. i really love the chemistry between the ladies and hope to have a friendship like theirs.
-
25. Our Police Course
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
it was very light-hearted and very school-like. it was so refreshing and light yet dark at the same time I just fell in love with it. more than that, the cast was amazing and the youth concept was just blooming. i love the friendship bond between the characters so much and the evident development they each have. it's probably my favourite watch of 2022 !
-
26. Shooting Star
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
it's just a dumb (in a good way) light-hearted drama that really helped comfort me with its lightness !!
-
27. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
it was actually really painful but the amount of love portrayed towards the main lead was just insane i love village bonds and love portrayed between neighbors and a certain village so much
-
28. Just Between Lovers
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
i don't even know where to begin but the amount of love gangdu has was so overwhelming. just their situation on it's own hurts so bad but the amount of love that bloomed because of it, and their difficulties. it was just so real and my heart felt so warm every episode. i just especially love too the insert of love gangdu has with his guardian and his sister. he's so pure and has so much love for everyone in the drama he's so precious i want to hug him so much. my favorite scene was when he cried "at least one of us is okay" and also the part where he says "i love you." the actor was just so good at portraying the emotions my heart was always overwhelmed
-
29. Alchemy of Souls
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
once again, jaewook was one of the reasons. but the whole concept was so cool and refreshing, i haven't really watched anything like it. naksu's backstory was so cool !! a big part of it was also because i knew like almost all of the main cast and even a big portion of the side ones. the last episode was probably the most impactful last episode i've had too. it was so overwhelming
-
30. One Shot Scandal
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
i'm really weak for dramas that involve children. the drama shows the beauty of familial love and how big of an impact love has to people. i love watching the dynamic of the two leads, and the friendship between the students. dramas that talk about pressuring students has a very soft place in my heart since i empathize with the children, and i'm glad that at least the drama talks about the potential consequences of parents' actions towards their children
