Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes

the best reply! i love this group of friends the most and it has the most convincing love triangle
-
2. High School King of Savvy
Korean Drama - 2014, 17 episodes
watched: 2014
the female lead was terrible in every way but this is the drama that made seo in guk become my favourite actor like his 27 year old ass was just so good at portraying the emotions and vulnerabilities of a high schooler. Story was surprisingly good for a drama with such an unbelievable plot. Loved the supporting cast especially Minsuk's adoptive family, his best friends, and his bosses!!
-
3. DoDoSolSolLaLaSol
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
watched: 2020
the ending was SHIT but I can't stop thinking about this drama i've been listening to the maiden's prayer nonstop for the past 2 hours idk why this mediocre drama has such a profound effect on me but i love it (eps 1-11 only) (maybe because I saw it during the pandemic)
the soundtrack is so cathartic and comforting to me!

Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
watched: 2012
seo in guk and hoya what a masterpiece. I wasn't expecting anything because of the low budget and at when I watched some clips I thought taewoong was a predator but it ended up being a drama with a truly unique and unconventional premise that deserves all its praises
-
5. Black
Korean Drama - 2017, 18 episodes
watched: 2017
not my usual genre and i had to force myself through the first 2 eps for go ara but after that it was amazing?? Messy ending but it's easy to ignore
-
6. Let's Eat 2
Korean Drama - 2015, 18 episodes
watched: 2020
more slice of life dramas like this please!
loved the friendship between the two leads even though there was barely any romance between them
-
7. Queen Cheorin
Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes
watched: 2020-2021 when it aired
great drama combining comedy and history! Usually dislike historical dramas because there's too much political mess involved and this one does get a bit political near the end but that was inevitable i guess. Enjoyed how the main character embraced being in a woman's body without being weird about it
-
8. Because This is My First Life
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
watched: 2020
comforting like an old friend... great chemistry too (that bit right before the ending was completely unnecessary and felt like the writer only did it to drag out the story to 16 episodes so let me pretend that it never happened (also find lee min ki questionable but...)) One of the first dramas I watched after a very long hiatus and I'm glad it was this drama
-
9. Noodlanding op jou
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
watched: 2021
Hits all the points for a typical korean drama, but it still felt exciting and not at all overdone. Bonus that the leads are together in real life! The perfect korean drama
loved seo jihye in this in particular
-
10. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
watched: 2018
AMAZING chemistry... seo in guk good at everything he does... I don't like melodramas tho..... but the chemistry.............. my favourite pairing out of all kdramaland
The cinematography is pretty in like a melancholic and lonely way
-
11. Human Disqualification
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
watched: 2021 when it aired
everyone in this drama is so broken but it is such a comfort drama. Surprisingly funny at times
-
12. Flower Boy Ramen Shop
Korean Drama - 2011, 16 episodes
watched: 2011? 2012?
never forget ur first (tvn drama)
jung il woo does comedy really well idk why he doesnt do more of it
need to rewatch this lol maybe it is ranked too high
-
13. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
watched: 2013
haven't watched this in a loooong time but i really liked it back in the day. I enjoyed the straightforward relationship between the leads and I still listen to the soundtrack
-
14. Psychopath Diary
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
watched: 2020
really funny... really good at balancing comedy and thriller throughout the entire series despite the continuously raising stakes
-
15. The Fiery Priest
Korean Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
watched: 2020
hilarious and fast paced!! every single character is funny and memorable (only minor complaint is that the visual direction is kind of ugly)
-
16. 38 Task Force
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
less hilarious but also fast paced with a smart and tightly woven plot
-
17. Ho Goo's Love
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
watched: 2016? 2017?
unconventional but loveable and extremely memorable
same writer as because this is my first life and flower boy ramen shop!
-
18. Let's Eat
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
watched: 2013?
Used to be one of my top dramas and I like how slice of life it is and doojoon is great in his role but I'm trying to rewatch it and it's not as great as I'd remembered. I don't think I ever thought it was that great of a drama but that it was unique and refreshing due to the episodic nature. But then I watched Let's Eat 2 which did the same things as this season but better and then this one started lacking.
-
19. Shopping King Louie
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
cute!! bring back cute seo in guk again! writer oh ji young i can never forgive u for ddsslls (tbh not much was going on plot wise in this drama either so no wonder i never liked it as much as high school king of savvy despite the return of cute seo in guk)
-
20. You Who Came from the Stars
Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes
watched: 2013
legendary for a reason but i don't like kim soo hyun
-
21. The Sound of Your Heart
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
watched: 2020
Short and very very very episodic. Some eps are hilarious, others are ok but still funny
-
22. Monthly House
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
watched: 2021
Very cute and funny but a bit forgettable and bland towards the end when they do the obligatory breakup and misunderstanding phase of the relationship and also the last ep was straight up bad and I'm still not over seo in guk and jung so min's chemistry from the smile has left your eyes so that's why this rambling sounds negative even though I would say I quite enjoyed this drama
-
23. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
watched: 2021
do do sol sol la la sol if the writer was competent
-
24. Avengers Social Club
Korean Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
watched: 2020
great drama about friendship rather than romance but it wasn't as high stakes as I had hoped (I wanted more avengers and less social club). I appreciate that the story focuses on older female characters since we don't see that a lot
-
25. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
watched: 2017
cute and fun (screw jisoo)
cant stop thinking about how the kidnapper in this kinda looks like im siwan and now i can never look at im siwan the same way
-
26. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
adorable!!! pastels!!!!!!! a bit bland near the end? rewatches will never be the same knowing njh and lsk broke up
-
27. Unstoppable High Kick
Korean Drama - 2006, 167 episodes
watched: ???-2021
Started watching years and years ago on bootleg chinese dvds. Probably shouldn’t be on this list bc it is a long ass episodic sitcom and not a drama but whatever. Pretty decent sitcom, no wonder it was so popular. Likeable characters. Ending kinda lame tho. Also the love triangle is lame too.
-
28. Monster
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
watched: 2021
usually only watch comedies but this was exciting enough to keep my interest but then it kind of lost the hype in the second half
choi sung eun is so pretty!!
-
29. Alchemy of Souls
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
Watched: 2022-2023
I watched this for Jung So Min. Not really a fan of historical dramas or fantasy dramas but this one grew on me at the end. Mudeok and Jang Uk's relationship was cute but there wasn't enough of it. Lots of unanswered plot lines of course because they left them for season 2 but I am not watching that! Can't believe Jung So Min is not in season 2 at all.
-
30. Please Remember, Princess
Korean Drama - 2013, 12 episodes
watched: 2014
a mini-drama
think i have a thing for campus dramas and this is an adorable one but it's too short
maybe pulling this out of my ass but tatami galaxy vibes...?
-
31. I Hear Your Voice
Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes
watched: 2013
really impactful drama with amazing ost and visual direction but i remember being really frustrated with all the cases (because the cops were so incompetent... I have come to realize that is closer to real life than fiction) and this doesn't really have any of my favourite actors so it's probably ranked lower than it deserves
-
32. Dinner Mate
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
watched: 2021-2023
I watched the first few eps right after I finished CLOY because I love Seo Ji Hye and Song Seung Heon is pretty hot too. They match perfectly! One of my favourite kdrama couples. I thought this drama would be like Let’s Eat but classier but it was lore about psychotherapy than food. I wanted to see two grown people having a grown relationship but the second leads were so petty and annoying. The second male lead is so broken that the drama kinda revolves around him.
-
33. Surplus Princess
Korean Drama - 2014, 10 episodes
watched: 2014
cute!!! too cute for 4 eps to be cut unceremoniously like that
-
34. Sassy Go Go
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
watched: 2016
bit cheesy but I liked it
-
35. Rooftop Prince
Korean Drama - 2012, 20 episodes
watched: 2013
great drama when I watched it but toilet man ruined it
-
36. Boys Over Flowers
Korean Drama - 2009, 25 episodes
watched: 2011
messy but a classic
this got me into shinee and kpop so thanks
-
37. Café Minamdang
Korean Drama - 2022, 18 episodes
watched: 2022
seo in guk is very very very very very cute in this
kinda didn't pay attention because it's very crime of the week. It is fun tho and managed to keep its humour till the end, unlike other crime dramas.
the characters grew on me but I still find most of the main cast irritating
also the casting is weird am i supposed to believe seo in guk is like 10 years older than oh yeon seo?????????????
-
38. Lucky Romance
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
ryu jun yeol is adorable in this... plot is lame and messy (perhaps why he didnt act in another drama for 5 whole years...?)
-
39. Hello Monster
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
watched: 2015
seo in guk looks hot in this but it's not my type of drama and the ending was too open and i don't feel any chemistry between the leads (also do not care for park bo gum)
-
40. The Boy Next Door
Korean Drama - 2017, 15 episodes
watched: 2020
this is a mini-drama
short and sweet? sweet but short? funny when it was contained in their room but when the setting was expanded it was harder to suspend my disbelief
-
41. Hwarang
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
watched: 2016
too many men. wish park hyungsik was main
think i enjoyed the spectacle of the whole thing rather than the actual drama
go ara gets so much hate for her character in this drama and i hate that!!!!!!
-
42. Cheese in the Trap
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
really good first eps, GORGEOUS ost, set design, styling, palette, etc but then the director had to be petty. Sad because it had so much potential :(
-
43. Miss Hammurabi
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
watched: 2020
i appreciate its merits but honestly I found it really boring... but bonus points for go ara and myungsoo whom i both love
-
44. Dream High
Korean Drama - 2011, 16 episodes
watched: 2011
my first kdrama kinda cheesy tho
-
45. You're All Surrounded
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
watched: 2014
i like the comedic aspects but i rated this 6.5 for a reason (i dont really remember but i think the plot started dragging really bad especially any time it focused on the main mystery involving the male lead. Everyone became incompetent because they needed to fill 16 eps)
-
46. Boarding House #24
Korean Drama - 2014, 12 episodes
watched: 2014?
not bad for an idol drama but unmemorable. I think I though t was cute and funny!
-
47. I Will Die Soon
Korean Drama - 2023, 4 episodes
watched: when it aired
This is about both halves!
First half was intriguing but the second half was a mess. Would've preferred this as entirely a thriller rather than end as a holier than thou fable about suicide. It ends up being a half-assed thriller, half-assed melodrama. You want me to cry for his mom when 2 hours ago you showed me someone getting their **** ***** ***? Was killing off dozens of characters in extremely gruesome deaths supposed to be part of the important life lesson that this drama was supposed to teach me? Maybe if it was longer then the contrived storylines that they use for shock value wouldn't have pissed me off as much.
Seo In Guk was great!
-
48. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
watched: 2016
First ep AMAZING. The longer it went on the less I understood.
-
49. To The Beautiful You
Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes
watched: 2012
bonus points for minho and sulli and the pretty visual direction! but terrible and overdone plot
-
50. Buitengewoon Jij
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
watched: 2020
unique concept but gets super repetitive near the end. Also same problem as W in which the writer has come up with an whole webcomic universe but hasn't thought it through so they start pulling rules out of their ass
-
51. Beautiful Gong Shim
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
watched: 2016
should be called Birth Secret Dan Tae
-
52. Who Are You?
Korean Drama - 2008, 17 episodes
watched: 2020 mostly
I like both the leads but the age gap (and certain plot points...) was really uncomfortable and the father was so damn annoying and whose idea was it to have your romantic lead be possessed by your father?? not as bad of a drama as I expected tho and great ost
-
53. The Master's Sun
Korean Drama - 2013, 17 episodes
watched: 2013-2020 yes it took me 7 years to finish this drama because i hated it
really don't understand what is so hyped about this drama?????????????????????????
seo in guk is hot in this
-
54. Haechi
Korean Drama - 2019, 48 episodes
watched: 2020-2023
very boring! plot is okay objectively i think i just found it boring as hell
-
55. Destruction
Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
watched: 2021
so so so so boring and contrived
why did that grown man kiss his best high schooler friend's high schooler gf?
why is the twitter fandom for this drama so active??
-
56. Trot Lovers
Korean Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
watched: 2014
2006 cliches in 2014 wow
garbage
-
57. Heading to the Ground
Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes
watched: 2020
i watched this on 3x speed for go ara
i do not care for soccer and this drama did not manage to make me care about soccer (go ara was not convincing as a sports agent like she was both too young and the writer never showed me enough of her passion for it). Went in a weird direction and tried to genre bend in the second quarter and then subsequently went back in the third quarter. Evil 2nd male lead with no redeeming qualities who i hated seeing on screen and yet go ara's character seemed closer to him that the male lead for most of the show. Yunho's male lead was stupidly noble (emphasis on stupid).
-
58. Another Parting
Korean Drama - 2014, 5 episodes
watched: 2020
This doesn't really count as a drama but whatever. Thank god this is only 50 minutes total... plot was weird and self indulgent
i watched for seo in guk and there was not enough of him
