3. You Who Came from the Stars
Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes
Cute story with very engaging leads. Just don't focus too hard on the plot which has a few holes in it. Jun Ji Hyun is gorgeous and absolutely delightful. Her ability to play goofiness and physical comedy is reminiscent of Sandra Bullock at the same age. Kim Soo Hyun plays quiet strength and vulnerability very well too. The script is by Park Ji Eun who also wrote "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and "Crash Landing on You", and it shares a lot of the feel-good elements of those. Definitely worth a watch!

4. The Producers
Korean Drama - 2015, 12 episodes
I really liked this drama! Lots of fun, lots of great cameos.

5. The Legend of the Blue Sea
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
Bad boy on the lam is saved by a mermaid, who then follows him back to Seoul. Nice, warm-hearted fantasy, with good acting all around--especially from the strong supporting cast. Sung Dong Il (the goofy dad from Reply 1997) is scarily menacing and Hwang Shin Hye plays a chilling black widow, while Moon So Ri and Shin Hye Sun provide delightful comic relief. Score would be higher, but the plot nearly goes off the rails in episodes 16-18. A little editing would've greatly improved the story and trimmed the overly long 20-episode drama down to 18 episodes.

6. Noodlanding op jou
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Heiress and successful entrepreneur in own right crash lands in North Korea while testing her new sportswear line. She gets "captured" by a very handsome (of course!), straight-laced, and stoic North Korean officer and a motley squad of soldiers that finds her baffling. The 38th parallel turns out to be no match for love. Great fun!

7. Untitled Park Ji Eun Project
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
Started with a bang, then the plot its way a bit at the very end. Nevertheless, this is a very, very good drama. The cast--particularly the two leads--are incredible. Kim Soo Hyun is rumored to be the highest paid actor in Korea and it is not hard to see why. Kim Ji Won is no slouch either. The supporting cast is uniformly terrific too. Although imperfect, this is a very accessible drama much like Crash Landing on You. Highly recommend.
