Heartaches & Other Feelings
A list of movies and dramas that hit me right in the feels. SPOILER ALERT: I've mentioned a few things about the dramas that might ruin them for you, so if that's not okay, don't read the descriptions I've provided and check out the drama instead.

1. Kobold
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Honestly, this entire drama was filled with emotion. Ji Eun Tak and the Goblin - neither of them had easy lives, and the warmth and comfort that their love brought after all their hardships really warms you up inside. While their relationship is far from tumultuous, there are moments with the other characters that just pierce your heart and let you bleed (see: Grim Reaper).

2. You're Beautiful
Korean Drama - 2009, 16 episodes
This one comes off as a light-hearted and funny drama, until the main couple starts developing feelings for each other. From there on out, we have misunderstandings, miscommunication and generally a lot of missing each other before the two can be together. Like, there is a reason this drama has the tag 'drama'. But that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable. On the contrary, the emotional investment that this drama brings about is part of the reason why it's one of my favorites.

3. W
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
While I wasn't too big on the romance between the main couple here, mostly because I didn't really see why they fell in love other than the fact that they're the main couple, their love story did have its sweet and emotional moments. The time they spend apart is hard to watch, and their tears bring about mine. So while they didn't have a lot of chemistry, I did like them together and it hurt when that wasn't the case.

4. Itazura na Kiss: Love In Tokyo 2
Japanese Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
If you've seen the first season of this show, then you'll know that Kotoko goes through a lot before she finally gets Naoki. All those months of unrequited love actually plays a part - and leads to problems - in their married life. Like, the show makes it seem like Kotoko is sensitive and insecure and honestly, given the way their relationship has been so far, I think that's a given because Naoki was terrible at expressing his feelings in the first season. He makes up for all that in this one and we see the couple really grow here. They go from being in love to a team that works together and watching it is just amazing. I got so emotional in all their fights, but it was completely worth it because you share in their happiness.

5. Secret
Korean Drama - 2013, 16 episodes
Like Goblin, this was also an emotional drama, but in a darker and heart-wrenching way. If there was an award for 'all the horrible things the main character goes through' in drama history, this show would take the cake. This girl goes through a world of pain, for seemingly no good reason. It's a tragedy.
She takes the blame for a car accident her long term boyfriend is responsible for, goes to jail for it, and suffers after that too because the fiancee of the victim won't stop hounding her. She loses everyone she's cared about, and is probably scarred for life. Along the way, through, she grows up from the naive romantic to a stronger girl made of steel. She makes new friends, falls in love again. The entire show is painful, and the romance is twisted, but you do feel so much for her.

6. Hana Yori Dango
Japanese Drama - 2005, 9 episodes
I don't know what it is about this drama, but I loved it. It was far from perfect, and kind of twisted - the guy who bullied the girl falls in love with her - but this show had the uncanny ability to make you care about the characters, and that's why I kept watching. Like You're Beautiful, you get caught up in the emotions here too.

7. Hana Yori Dango 2
Japanese Drama - 2007, 11 episodes
The second season of Hana Yori Dango. More drama, more feelings, more love.
-
8. The Liar and His Lover
Japanese Movie - 2013
The main guy here is such a jerk at first. I don't even know if he cared about the girl. The girl, innocent, loving and warm, finds a place in his heart and when love blossoms between the two, it's sweet and just the right amount of vulnerable.
-
9. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Korean Drama - 2016, 20 episodes
This drama was light and fun for the first few episodes. The main girl, Soo, meets the fourteen princes and slowly becomes important to all of them, differently for each. She's bright and breath of fresh air for all of them. However, as the political plot begins to fold and more friendships and connections are at stake, things begin to take a dark turn. There are so many moments that make your heart hurt, takes your breath away and that lift you up. This drama has both ends of the spectrum - the good and the bad - but every moment is worth it.

10. Who Are You: School 2015
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
While the romance here was okay - I preferred the second lead to the first - what really got to me was this aspect of a loving family. The main girl had been deprived of love and warmth from a parental figure for so long, and seeing her cherish all the people in her life (because she knows what it's like to not have anyone) really makes you grateful for your lot in life.

11. Hot Road
Japanese Movie - 2014
This movie features a girl in a neglected household and a reckless boy who doesn't want to get attached. What I loved about this movie was how the couple pretends to not like each other, but are actually really close. In reality, they have a very tender relationship and the whole thing makes you want to curl up and hug someone.

12. Pinocchio
Korean Drama - 2014, 20 episodes
Right off the bat, this show presents a grave injustice that has been done to a family torn apart by the media. Our main character has been hurt, and the main girl's family has something to do with it. This, obviously, creates an obstacle for the couple, who genuinely like and support one another. Watching them fall in love and fight to stay together is one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

13. Verleid
Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes
-
14. Descendants of the Sun
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
-
15. Liefdesalarm
Korean Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
